1 - SCEE reps at the game's booth were quick to point out they could have got the game on shelves this year, but have chosen not to in the face of stiff competition from other AAA titles, including Gears of War 2.
So Killzone could have gone to store shelves this year. But they decide to delay it only for the simple fact that it will not have a chance this holiday season with resistance and gears 2. That was probably a good move by sony, because the game might have been overshadow. But then again If the game is very good then it can actually steal the spotlight from gears. But sony does not want a conflict of interest between resistance and killzone.

I don't think it won't have a chance but putting their 2 premiere shooters within 3months of each other is probably not a good idea. R2 is there to hold off gears of war. R2 is still my most anticipated shooter for the yr, mostly due to boss battles and separate 8player coop. Can't wait to see the world premiere game play vid.

KZ2 moving to 09 just strengthens the ps3 09 line up.

I agree with Sonarus. Resistance 2 is my most wanted FPS this year. It would have somewhat limited both the salese for Resistance 2, and Killzone 2 if they was release with months of each other.

Killzone 2 is Feb next year, and GOD of War 3 is March of next year. I cannot wait for those two game

I actually have IGN as my homepage :)
Gamespot can't hold a candle to IGN.com in my opinion.
I read they preview yesterday, and notice that the individual that was writing the preview, was a little bias, but had some valid points about the AI we seen so far.

are you going to play your xbox or are you going to spend all your adult life reading news about a product you don't even own?

sony deemed resistance was good enough to compete against gears hence killzone was moved to 2009. no need to expend energy in competing against gears when resistance 2 will have as much hype. sony is confident that R2 will compete with gears so why bother competing with itself (i.e. k2 with R2)

with gta doing so well in a traditional quiet part of the year the business model for major console release was turned upside down.

in the past, games companies tried everything they could to release in end Q3/Q4 (this is EA's business model) but now games companies don't have to do that. the critical factor is to get the games up to AAA quality as opposed to missing schedules. note that the long delay in GTA actually worked to it's advantage.

killzone delay spreads a major PS3 exclusive release every quarter and gurantees sony maintains its momentum.

your life is more important than being spent in the ps3 news area. you don't own a ps3 so read about xboxes instead. you like the xbox => read xbox news.

I watched the gameplay videos a couple of dozens time and there are a few notable things, the character models have fairly improved. They look fantastic, the animation system is slick as ever. The game looks stunningly impressive. The enemy AI has improved a lot and the game really do gives you an atmosphere of war. Now the only thing I felt odd was that the environments didn't carry the same amount of details as the character models. The game still looks amazing but I wish they put a lot more details in the environment. I hope they have some innovative feature in there game apart from graphics.

To be fair a successful First Person cover system is an innovative feature. The atmosphere they have created as well is amazing, this game is top of my 09 list already

This game was at the Top of my list for 2008 and its still at top when it comes out in Feb 2009. All I am saying is as mind blowing as the graphics and the animation system, the innovative gameplay feature should be jaw dropping as well. Like I know I expect a little too much from this game, but then this game deserves to be hyped and expected from. Hopefully there will be an extensive online part.

Just read but i will advice you not to trust these sites too much.
Wait till they release a demo or rent out the games before buying them is still the best mean, especially when the first KZ sucks ....

I have got a feeling that the medias (espcially IGN & gamespot) will be 'extra picky' with KZ2 review when the game is released....

you can already get a feel from this article .... mentioning it has to be more innovative or has new features which is totally bullshit...

From my point of view KZ2 looks great and is set to be one of the best FPS game ... and the great graphic & particle effect is certainly revolutionary, game play should be similar to COD4

Gears 2 is going to blow Resistance 2 off the map. Be for real guys, you can't compare Resistance to Gears. As stated by Epic "Gears 2 will be the most graphically sound game to date". Resistance ain't gonna compete with that.Damn look at R1 it graphically couldn't compete with the simpsons game. Killzone 1 sucked balls and so will Killzone 2. Get a grip people GEARS 2 is going to own. GEARS 2 is going to sell many consoles this christmas and with R2 out for Sony what would you pick? I don't know about you but its Gears2 for me by a looooonnnnnnnngggggggg shot!! Be honest guys.

IGN and Gamespot are full of it.

Their impressions and reviews cannot be trusted anymore.

IGN gave GTA 4 a 10/10. Comon a 10? I'm playing Balrdur's gate 2 on my pc right now because I could care less if I play GTA4 or not. I'll admit, I bought into the hype. I'll also admit I know I've (and many others) been shafted big time. I would not have purchased this MUST HAVE title If I knew what a dud it was. GTA San Andreas was one of the best game I have ever play, and GTA 5 just sucks in comparison.

Remember the score Gamsepot gave R&C tools of Destruction for the PS3? It was one of the most moronic pieces of literature I have ever read in my life. The review couldn't even clearly justify his low score. He gave it a low score "just because".

I'm glad websites like this exists so we can make sense of some of the BULLSH!T that is fed to us.

It's like DJ said (above somewhere) it's the IGN 360 bias authors being stupid, but it doesn't matter. Anyone who see's Killzone 2 with they're own eyes knows that it looks amazing, knows that it's a step ahead of any other game out there.
