I'm kinda disappointed. It's not bad but nowhere near as stunning as the original. Sure, it's camera and the game isn't finished but original MotorStorm looked stunning way before release but not only this lacks the wow factor, some parts actually look pretty mediocre.

Overall, graphics have decreased in my eyes... :(
As for gameplay, I don't like the new vehicle type either. Hopefully the classic cars like buggies and such are still as fun as the original.

I'm saying this straight up, Alpha or not, these screens and video are complete junk, Motorstorm looks way better, what the hell is up with this?

I'd expect something Motorstorm-ISH built from prior alpha stages, on top of whatever is already there, this is looking pretty bad right now, I hope we get development screens sometime in the next few months that can change our mind.

Glad to know it's only 40% through.

Even Alpha stage games aren't suppose to look like it's running on the PS2.

Well, I now know what game developers should never ever do:

Never show your game to the public while it's still a work in progress.

Jesus guys, give it a rest already. Today was f*cking horrible with everybody complaining about R2's work in progress multiplayer graphics, and now this sh!t hits the fan.

Give it a rest, this game will look amazing once it's out, and so will R2. Don't jump to conclusions.

If this is pre-Alpha stage, then that's pretty impressive. I've got mixed feelings about whether or not they should have left off showing gameplay yet at this stage, but it is nice to see how this game's coming along.

From this video, it looks like it's coming along pretty well. Evolution are actually developing this one pretty fast, too.

This one looks a little slow in comparison to the first and also has moon like gravity as part of it's gameplay it seems.I know it's only a vid but the movement appeared less impressive than i thought it would.

Motostorm2 should still be good though and will hopefully address some of the few problems from the first game.

Can't remember the first Motostorm being quite so slow though, maybe it's the vid and the vehicle.

a few things:

first: it's Pre-Alpha footage, only 40% complete. for pre-Alpha, it's looking damn good, in particular the lighting.

second: if anything, the game will be a lot like the first one. just with more tracks and vehicles. this isn't entirely a bad thing.

three: this is a PRESS event. the fact that us lowly gamers are getting a peak at this stuff is a PRIVILEGE, not a right.

professional game journalists know how to differentiate between 40% complete, and FINISHED GAME. which is why most previews of games tend to be on the positive side; they are giving the title the benefit of the doubt.

considering how much fun the original Motorstorm was, i don't see the sequel being WORSE than the original. it's not like Devil May Cry 2, where a completely different developer took over the franchise and screwed with it.

it's still Evolution, and the game is looking impressive for such an incomplete build.

some of you guys need to relax, and just appreciate that we are seeing ANYTHING from this PRESS ONLY event.

hell, we could have been getting nothing but written updates. we've gotten more trailers, vid caps, and screens than we should have expected.

some people just HAVE to complain, i guess...

When I read the comments, I thought I was gonna see a disaster.

You guys really need to chill. That footage was great for a game that haven't reached half of its development.

I know most people in here are anxious, but to say that it looks horrible or that it looks like junk, it's just complete nonsense...

Visuals were great. Lighting was impressive, environment and mud looked real, and the sea view??? wow.

Just imagine this game at 100% with all the things that were missing from the first one.

In fairness though two of those mentioned are remembered by their original render trailers.The devs have done great things with the hardware but even next gen will struggle matching what we originally saw back then.

Stunning... to say the least... but different.. in the first one the cars and trucks where so detail it was crazy, here they seem to have a blur effect on them, not sure how to explain it.

But if you played PGR3 and then played PGR4 you know what I mean. (this Motorstorm does more in a different way, more gamer type look as oppose the the real look it had in part 1)

This of course is probably because of the new engine used for the game, since they didn't use the old one and instead re-wrote everything. The boost looks really nice now, but I don't like the look of the cars and trucks.

Also it seems slow to me, the old one felt a little slow and this one seems the same speed. I don't really know if I like the back drop yet, for some reason it just seems really hard to tell where your going. (would be nice if they could put some arrows on the floor)

But this is only 40% so I guess I can't really judge it yet.

We shall see how it turns out.

their just teasing you. it is blurry. looks like a ps2 game. look at the screen shot were the sun is the brightest on the horizon. now look were it says the position to the very left of the position box almost diagonally from it, you notice the ground is cut up (the black line) telling you the game is not half done. look at the first teaser trailer. now thats what the game is going to be like, i can assure you.

Where's the terrain deformation? Where's the environmental interaction? Where's...gravity? I like the amount of detail they've put into the cars this time, but the game looks really disappointing right now.
