I have to agree, HOME will have great potential. It will go a long way in bringing PS3 consumers what they want in an online service. I also don't feel any negativity towards HOME when it gets delayed. I want and know they are working hard on optimizing HOME for us all.

The whole concept an implementation seems great to me, I just hope it works well. Being in Australia I always expect getting the short end of the stick that's covered in rusty nails.

But hopefully, HOPEFULLY, they'll work on it and get it covered so we can chat with people worldwide without TOO much lag/problems

I agree, they have obviously listened to the criticism the first game had and have gone above and beyond to rectify that. Tweak the graphics, speed up the online(lobby) and seriously reduce the load times and I'll be a happy man.

It's quite obviously because:

16 tracks will not do nicely, and it's clear that you're not glad that the environments are more destructible now, in fact, it's obvious you hate the very idea of more interactivity! Motorstorm 2 isn't fixing the things wrong with the first one and is either adding nothing to it or taking stuff out! And it's also easy to see that this wasn't in a short development time! A year and a half is simply to long! It's also because it's not shaping up to be the best off-road racer ever.

Or at least, that's what they're saying :3

I can't wait for Motorstorm 2, it's going to be amazing

Is seriously missing actually interaction out side of playing games together. And game lobbies are boring. Home will open up a whole "new world" of possibilitys, like Clan interaction, gameplans, all that. It`s not just playing house, it`s much much more. For games like SOCOM it`ll be a HUGE feature. Sonys mistake was talking about it TOO early, but at the time they kinda had to.

Thats the key piece of that forced praise from a first party developer.

Its not even going to open beta until the console is 2 years old. By the time it limps out half of the PS3's life cycle will be over. Yeah yeah i know its supposed to go for 10 years but we all know the PS4 will be out in five years and the PS3 will get limited support like the PS2... Probably less support because it will have far less marketshare than the PS2.

Home is dead to me. I'll believe it when I see it. Its all hype and no substance.

it makes good business sense for Sony

MS stole A LOT of marketshare this time round and if Sony go head to head with the next box again they could risk becoming Nintendo

keeping a 10-year cycle will allow them to regain that marketshare because we all know the 360 isnt futureproof enough to survive more than 3 years- the PS3 on the other hand, is

and then MS wont know what to do- releasing a new console would mean going up against a huge install base and with few games

and what about stroage media? blu-ray? would the BDA let them? HD-DVD? useless for movies and still has a 20gb fewer capacity than BD, DD? the world isnt ready for that yet

yeah its cool, we're all allowed to voice opinios- but we're also allowed to dispute other peoples so here i go:

i was talking about hardware, the two you mentioned are things fixable with time

DVD9, outdated RAM and CPU are not

MS did go up against 120mil PS2 owners its true, but there was already a sizable Xbox fanbase who were willing to buy the next iteration of MS's console

until the 360 passes the install base of the original Xbox your point is moot anyway

of course the PS3 wont pass the 360 any time soon, and thats EXACTLY why it makes good business sense for Sony to stick with a 10 year plan

they just need more time this generation

and the PS3 is future-proof enough to go all 10 years

At the moment the 360 is more future proof since it has a larger install base and more third party developer support than the PS3.

They already did that with the 360, they went up against 120 million PS2 owners, and look what happened.

Things may change(GTA V becoming PS3 exclusive), and they may not. Remember, most of you were convinced that the PS3 would pass the 360 in 2006...then in 2007...then in 2008.

It didn't happen, and the gap is about as large as when the PS3 was released.
