Rockstar working "around the clock" on PS3 GTA 4 fix

GTA4 is crashing on both the 360 and PS3 and they are working on a patch for both versions.

Reported as lame.

I'm not having problems Tuesday i was having problems connecting to the Multiplayer but thats fixed and I have a PS3 so take that you Xbox fanboy's.

didnt they conduct months of trials. and how could this happen on 360, they had that version completed months before the ps3 one.
i have a early 60GB version and my game doesnt freeze up, it does something equally as annoying, maybe more so. after hours of continuous play, my ps3 just shuts down immediately without warning. most of the time when im about to finish a mission that ive spent like 30 mins doing. cmon rockstar, pull your finger out

my 60gb locked up twice yesturday and twice the day before. it fustrating as all hell but it was an unforseen problem and glad the issue is being addressed. sooner is better than latter...but corrected is better than glitches.

i have only had two problems so far and after that none has happened again, altho i sometimes notice the frame rate drops, mostly when i put the police officers to the test with six stars and the screen is full with choopers and about 10 cop cars and 20 officers, but apart from that not a major problem to me, im still having so much fun!!!!!, some games are that fun and good that u can easily overlook the fault that happens when playing,rember no game is PERFCT....i have had only 3 faults in like 10-25 hours of gameplay, i guess it happens most with the 6og ps3, mine is 40g and the problem of freezing happened only once.

I had to laugh when they included the statement about whether or not someone should return their PS3 copy for a 360 copy. Do you know anyone who would actually ASK Rockstar if they should do so? If someone was so inclined, so mad, etc. I would think they would just do it and not look for Rockstar's opinion on the matter.

Also, the fact that the 360 problems are "not quite the same amount" as the PS3 problems should not give 360 owners cause for glee. Non specific statements like this do not mask the fact that there are 360 issues as well as PS3 issues.

This just in- initial releases of software often contain bugs. It happens, and it is not exclusive to any one platform. I hope Rockstar solves the issues for both systems because I am really enjoying playing it. I have not had any issues yet (knock on wood), but I am a realist and know that the potential for problems is there. Good luck to all, regardless of platform.

Rockstar Social Club.

The game constantly connects to the internet, when that site goes down, the game freezes.

Edit: Who disagreed with this? When I'm connected to PSN, it freezes and stutters, I didn't sign in, thus no internet connection, and it worked fine. Then when it completely froze one time, I checked the RSC and it was down.

You might be on to something there. I have had zero issues with my PS3 copy, no lag, not freezing, nothing.

But then again none of my friends have had problems with there PS3s that are connected.

Still it makes sense.

i have a 60Gb ps3 and i've had no issues but one. After leaving out of a multiplayer game it went to the loading screen and took forever to load so i had to quit out the game. Besides that one time i've had no issues and i'm like 8% in the game.

Lol. This article is lame because all they did was contact customer service(probably just dialed the number on the back of the case, which ANY of us could do) which gave a bunch of hypothetical answers which any intelligent person could come up with. OF COURSE Rockstar is doing something about it, and OF COURSE it will probably be in the form of a patch. The question about whether they should return a PS3 copy for a 360 copy further adds to the lameness of this article. It has nothing to do with the "GTAIV Fix" and only serves as flamebait on the extremely 360 biased Videogamer.com.

-edit- What do you disagree with? That the answers that customer service provided were answers that anyone could logically come up with? That the return the PS3 version for a 360 version was a fanboyish statement? That videogamer.com is 360 biased? All of those are true, but if you disagree, convince me why I'm wrong.

-second edit- Guess its the 360 fanboys hitting the disagree button. Again, explain why I'm wrong.

and I've got a launch 60 gig. No freezing at all, and the online is pretty awesome! Online was down for a little while, but it has been up since yesterday afternoon. Not a single problem since.

Sorry for all those in need of R* help out there. Just reading the previous articles about the freezing on the 60 gig had me terrified until I got out of work Tuesday. WHEW!!!

GTA4 gave my 360 RROD. I have tried dozons of time to play GTA and it always freezes at the first cutscene. The I got RROD.

I know some people have been experincing this and sure it should be fixed, but i'am really pissed about R* not saying a single word on the Realiability or Quality of the MP servers they are shocking they were down for the whole day yesterday and only work for a few hours most days.

All i want is a statemnt from them regarding the MP server because so far they are keeping tight lipped about the whole area which is annoying.

Whats funny to me is.. NO game Has ever had this freezing problem on PS3.. GTA4 comes around and all of a sudden its the PS3s fault.. I have to unplug it and leave it off and stay off PSN to help with the GAMES problem of freezing..

ITS ROCKSTARS FAULT THE GAME IS DOING IT.. Maybe if they would have made the game better (NOT SAYING IS SUCKS AT ALL) then we wouldnt have this problem..

Its funny cause they are hinting its the PS3.. but I have an no game that freezes like that until GTA4.. so all of a sudden my PS3 is faulty out of the blue..

but yet They are coming out with a patch to fix their game they are hinting is PS3 fault for freezing..

I dont get this, i have a PAL 60gb launch PS3 and have had no problems at all. And ive played it for like 6 hours straight and about 10 overall, since wednesday.
