A first look at MotorStorm 2, details and info

Talkplaystation writes: "MotorStorm 2 is going to be bigger than a sequel to the first muddy racing game; in fact MotorStorm 2 is that big it has its very own island and 16 tracks to race around on!

MotorStorm 2's island is a tropical paradise that allows players to race on several different tracks including jungles, beaches and swamps. The location of the island is in South Pacific and features a volcano - maybe we can expect some volcanic action while racing or something along those lines."

Sure, split screen is a must and had to be added. Sure more tracks are better. But Motorstorm was just a perfect, awesome physic, on the edge of your seat, driving game. Sure there wasn't enough tracks, but those tracks were all great, with just enough straights, and perfect curves, , multiple paths, and narrow places. It's easy to add more tracks, but if they are not as well done as the originals, it will simply be "another" racing game.

There was something in the original that, I think, will be really hard to do again. But who knows, they have done it once, I guess, and sincerly hope, they can do it again! But if it's anything like the first one, with split screen, then bring it on!

The first motorstorm was jaw dropping gorgeous. It looked amazing considering it was first gen. It had one big flaw though, it loading was really slow, I mean the car use to show up in the menu really really slow. But once in race it was amazing. I would love to see more tracks and more race modes. Damn this fall will be packed with games:D

i cant wait

Motorstorm was awesome, but the lack of slit-screen really bothered me when my mates were round

and they need to make the lobby system for online more fluid and quicker, it wads a bit messy last time round

other than that i absolutely loved Motorstorm, this one is going to be gorgous

Motorstorm was the first game I played on the PS3 since it was a pack in and my jaw literally dropped. The graphics were such a step up especially when you scanned the desert mts on the intro.

I had 2 friends come by soon after that went out and got a PS3 after seeing that game.

Now, many months later I've seen some pretty good graphics in other places, but that was the first Wow moment in next gen gaming.

Seriously though, this is one of the best off-road racers. There is nothing on 360 you can compare the graphics too. I love the detail of the maps, you can feel every bump on the track.

Excited. Motorstorm was quite hard in the later levels, but also more fun than most racers I've played in a long time. As I've said before, it's one of the first racing games where I'd rather be in 3rd or 4th place, battling it out than leading the pack by a hundred yards. The fun of that game definitely lay in not just find the best line around the tracks, but in trying to wreck those around you doing the same.

so its on an island, how about giving us a free exploration mode after we beat all the race circuits? i would love to mob around on a muddy volcanic island in a monster truck. with the criss-crossing nature of motorstorm tracks it would be really fun to play around in with no purpose.

Loved motorstorm 1, but there were definitely some things that grinds my gears about it. Limited game type options, bare bones online, and a physics engine that would launch you completly off the course for hitting a small rock or edge of a ramp wrong. But with the money that they made off of it due to being packaged in with the 80gb, and more development time to get it right, its safe to say its going to be a very impressive racer when it comes out....hopefully soon...as in this year...

The whole game was a bit barebones, although I still can't complain as I STILL play it from time to time. Very enjoyable. I am looking forward to more innovative tracks and and more of them for sure. I will be buying this one, definately not a renter.

first one was boring?...what?...each track had like 7 alternate routes...it took me a few months just to remember which route to take with each vehicle for the shipped maps...

I agree it was pretty bland in terms of options...but the racing itself was/is some of the most intense of this generation so far...

totally agree with you kleptic and i still play it on and off trying to remember were some routes are. be nice to have some lo flying moto airplane that was built just for the race. something out of mad max where u had to get great acceleration to stay up in the air for short periods at a time
