I don't think it will affect sales, but it certainly reflects awfully on Microsoft. Atleast in Rockstars eyes, no sooner has their game begun shipping, it's already plastered all over the internet, on the 360 version.

i have a buddy that does mods on 360's and makes copied games and i'm sure he'll have GTA by this weekend. he does the same thing anytime a big game comes out for the 360. he racked up when Halo 3 came out.

Thats most likely the 360 version. the Ps3 is probably considerably larger due to it not being compressed. Still probably has some leg room on the Blu-ray though

This is the PC version? I find that very hard to believe as it's not out for another 6+ monthes.

More than likely this is fake or a 360 version. I know a cracked 360 version is avaliable, my friend is currently downloading it from a private tracker.

Yes ripping the ISO file is relatively straight forward, as long as you have the software needed.
You also need a cracked/chipped 360 to run it. Once again, that isn't a big job and pretty straight forward. Hell, the guys who runs my local fish and chip shop does them, for a fee.

Its also a fact that IF you want 30 games a year yes its going to be expensive, i work real hard to afford all the stuff i want. Maybethose people should focus on buying the games they actually want. Or buy a used game, or buy a game play it resell it. That way i spend no more then 10€ for games i only play once and then resell.

I spend more going out 1 night drinking, then T would paying for GTAIV. GTAIV will give me more HRs of fun for my buck , then drinking will sadly. It`s all about the choices you make. $60 isn`t that much $$$ considering what your getting. Going out to eat cost $60, I`ll give up 1 meal (going out) if I need the $$$ to get GTA.

well.. consider some students who have to study and buy their own stuff.. GTAIV in oz will cost AU$120(nearly twice as much as in US!!!) and some can only save $50 a week(which most probably they spend when they hang out with friends).. when i say these games are too expensive, i have these kind of people in mind coz i'm one of them

even still my point still remains. your getting alot of HRs of fun out of that $120, but $120 is kinda steep.

actually when I bought Mario3 for NES, it was $110 CDN. And that game you could beat in a few HRs. so....... Things aren`t really that bad.

but, again nowadays $120 is high. AU needs to do something about that.

I live in CANADA everything is more expensive than in USA.

Our dollar was almost the same and a car here would cost 35,000 would cost 25,000 in USA. That`s 10,000 more, that`s alot of $$$. Not $60.

I'm sick and tired of people complaining about currency differences. The cost of your game is probably right around what the game cost in the US + a little extra taxes (ask your government).

Fact is, the cost of products in your country is priced accordingly to your purchasing power. For instance, Norway whom has a 24-25% sales tax comparably pay less for their PS3 and Xbox 360 in relation to their average income in comparison to the U.S. Yet the cost of the an elite 360 is $600 and 40GB PS3 is around $700. A game is around $100+. It is all about purchasing power.

And yes, we do have a slightly better purchasing power in the US (who knows how long that will last), but we lack other benefits like universal healthcare. My employer pays at least $3000-4000 a year in health insurance cost for me, a healthy guy in the twenties. If I did not have a job, I would have to pay that myself.

I was a student once, I worked and gave up other things to afford my games. If you spend your money somewhere else that is your problem. Stop making excuses for stealing. I would stongly advise every1 to not buy games at the store price.

Having to buy HD cables as well as a new controller just to get the same experience out of GTA IV as 360 owners must hurt. Not to mention the exclusive DLC you will not have the option to play.

Nice try, but you still have to buy an XBOX VGA cable or HDMI cable if you want the best possible image the 360 can output. And as for that stupid "LOL SONY MAKES U DROIDS BUY ANOTHER CONTROLLAR!!1!1" argument, don't you remember when the first XBOX controller came out and people laughed and cried over the damn thing, and then Microsoft redesigned the controller and sold it back to the rest of the users, and people bought it? It's the same thing here. All companies do it - it's called "business"! And don't use the arguement that it had rumble and Sony took it away and brought it back. Rumble is not necessary for the enjoyment of gaming, and neither is a smaller controller (depending on whose hands it rests in), however both either add to the comfort level of the game, or immerse the player further into a title. Furthermore, if i'm running a signal through my 1.3 compliant HDMI cable, vs my out-of-the-box component cabling, I know which one that i'll be getting a better image on (not to mention better sound)

Usually a game iso is compressed to .rar archieves before uploading it to RS or somewhere else.
So maybe 6.4 GB is not the real size

You get 7.9gigs of space to use for the game. The .iso itself is appearently 6.4 gigs so Rockstar DID NOT EVEN FILL UP AN ENTIRE DVD9.

So I think we can put that stupid "GTA couldn't fit" talk to rest.

R* could be concerned about the next GTA game since contrary to some of the liars here that it's a PS3 exclusive will be coming to both platforms. They seem to say the same thing about LA Noire which is also coming to the Xbox 360.

From outer-ring to inner-ring the laser that reads the DVD9 keeps slowing down the more it reads, the closer the center, the less effective it becomes, just because it has however many gigabytes left over doesn't mean they want to use it, think of the left over gigabytes like mold on a sandwich.

It is an issue. A microsoft first party developer of PGR4 admitted that a DVD9 was not enough for what they wanted to do. GTA4 isn't exactly a graphically intensive game so it doesn't count and they definately compressed more than they would have liked because the PS2 GTAs took just about the same space. And the Rockstar developer just admitted today that DVD9 is not enough space.

DVD9 is a problem for this generation. There is a reason why every system has used new media. The xbox 360 is the first system to use the same media from it's previous system. Sooner or later DVD9 will be a constraint. We shouldn't be having this argument 2 years into this generation if it wasn't a problem.

Better ram allocations? I'm sorry, when did shared ram become the better choice? They chose shared ram because it's cheaper, the Xbox and PS3 have the same amount of the ram, the part where Microsoft fυcked up is about the time where they decided to add shared ram.

PS3's ram is more efficient at doing its job, it's also clocked in better latencies.
