... and I lovingly remembered that dream which was Tac Ops. That game was surreal. I still hear the sound that headshots made, like this muted bell CLINK or aluminum can noise or some sh*t, randomly in my head, to this day and that was along time ago. The guns, ooo those guns were fun. I have endless praise for that game.

When I think of surreal games I think of the original thiefs, and tac ops. Especially with surround sound, and EAX.

I can't think of any modern day games that had me soo shocked at release, everything these days is like, meh.

I'm calling BS on this right now. Its not like the PS3 is a $3000 piece of hardware that the mod guys can't afford. If they want to port mods to a PS3 then you should very well own one damnit.

Plus something like this can take up a year to birth so I wouldn't count on seeing it soon. Just take a look at how long it took Insurgency to go beta, and thats with an experienced team working on a PC platform and a mature engine. By the time TacOps, which pales in comparison to professional equality mods like Red Orchestra, is released we'll all be playing Socom Confrontation and KZ2.

I was actually planning on buying UT3 to mod some maps my self and/or create a total conversion mod myself. The reason I'd choose UT3 over Valve's Source Engine, is the ability to cook content for consoles and test it out. Epic has basically allowed people to design games for consoles, not just PC anymore.

An interesting fan-project at least as none of the original creators of TO are on the TO3 team

considering that they started just 3 month ago it will be QUITE some time till anything worthwhile is released. And i am not saying that randomly but because i was on the original team that made TO:Assault on terror. *huggles release box*

TO the mod was 3 years into development until it was at the point most players liked it ;)

The same with TO:C the follow up mod for UT2004. We where in development over a year before we announced the project and it took another year for the first beta.

I hope the team manages the project as i absolutely would love to see a TO version on my PS3 :D

If it were not for the mods it would be a poor investment but due to the community that is behind it, the game shines above many others. This mod would be sick to see in the new world of UT3.
