Buy Dual Shock 3, get Gran Turismo 5: Prologue. Go Canada

Ars Technica writes:

"After chatting with Ben about Gran Turismo 5 Prologue before the full review goes live, I found myself leaning away from the purchase. However, a deal currently running at Best Buy stores in Canada made the game impossible for me to resist. The electronics mega-chain currently has a promotion that nets you a free copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue with the purchase of a Dual Shock 3."

1 - That's crazy.
If it is true, why can't the U.S. have a deal like that?

Because Americans have everything else cheaper... Would you rather save $40 on this or thousands of dollars on a car?

...looks like i gotta take back my copy and buy this one.

"looks like i gotta take back my copy and buy this one."

Precisely what I did yesterday...Too bad for EB Games that they don't price-match.

I did a double-take when I saw the flyer yesterday morning, and zoomed for BB's online ordering...admittedly, I would've passed up on a DualShock...but $20 was too good to pass up (for ANY wireless controller.)

Gotta admit and eat my words of passed postings by admitting that Prologue is funner with some vibration happening.

Now if only I could learn to stop constantly driving on the rumble strips. ;)

1.4 - I'll agree with breakfast for once
I bought a new car (Honda Civic 2008) and after taxes I felt raped. the US gets better deals on games (and everything else) than us Canucks. for example our PS2 greatest hits still cost us $29.99 when it should be $19.99 and our PSN titles are always more expensive. the last I checked MGS 4 is going to cost $69.99 for the regular edition but they may lower it when it comes close to release.

Someone needs to upload a scan of this sales ad from Canada. I know Best Buy match ad prices, but I don't know if they do it from other countries. I guess you could give it a shot if it works report back ASAP before they can the deal. You never know you might get a dumb employee and they'll wont even notice it's a Canadian Best Buy ad.

It would be an even better deal if Sony honoured the rebate program they promised for the old controllers.

On the website the deal is "Buy Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3) and get a Dual Shock 3 Controller for only $20"

Still good though.

Works out to the same price though, $60 for controller + $40 for game is $100 total. You end up getting $40 off either way, just seems like a bigger deal when getting something for free.

The new rumble controller costs $99 Australian - that is $92 USD.

I thought Sony promised a rebate to replace these replacement controllers. What a rip off.

14 - super deal
I got this on the first day of the sale and it's a great value. I'm sure there will be more deals in the future especially with GTA IV and MGS 4 almost around the corner.

Buy.com has a $10 off deal through google checkout that saves 10 bucks off any purchase. Right now the DS3 is $50 at their site so you could get it for $40.

We DON'T care if you don't purchase the game because you fail to understand the meaning of 'Prologue',gosh, you'd think these 'journalists' would simply accept the fact that they're buying a Prologue and get on with it,rather than acting like Polyphony Digital masked this simple, direct, and sky-clear fact; It's a Prologue : |

It's kinda hard to find a Best Buy in eastern Canada. I wonder if Future Shop is doing the same since Best Buy owns them.
