Did You Buy Your PS3 Just For Home?

Home is an expansion to the PSN online offering for the Playstation 3. Currently slotted with a Spring 2008 release, there has been no concrete release date as of yet. Many PS3 owners are dying for and demanding information. On several boards you will find comments stating, "I bought my PS3 for Home and it hasn't been released yet. I hate you, Sony."

Was Home your inspiration for purchasing your PS3? Or were you like me, swayed by the other strengths and features that the PS3 brings to the party.

That person is lying. Home is an incentive to invest in a ps3 but not a reason on its own

I didn't buy my ps3 for home but i do see the immense potential in it. I seriously doubt home will meet its spring release date and will prob end up releasing in fall. I understand why sony showed it early but sony london should be working harder to get this thing functioning and bug free

I didn't buy my PS3 for HOME, or any of the other features that came with it. Those were all just a nice useful bonus.

I got it for pretty much the same reason everyone else did: MGS4, FFXIII/VersusXIII, and God of War 3. Like always though, with every console I buy for one or two specific games, it ends up coming out with a sh1tload of other must-buy games.

No one in their right mind would buy a PS3 for HOME. Buying a PS3 for Metal Gear Solid 4, GTA IV, Little Big Planet, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 just to name a few would make more sense

I can't imagine someone buying a $400 console for Home. It's a neat feature, but it's a bonus. You buy the PS3 for the games and the media capabilities. Home is an add-on to that, and sweetens the pot a little. That's all.

I know plenty of people that specifically bought their PS3's for Blu-Ray. Not all PS3 owners are gamers. The vast majority of them are, but not everyone.

I bought mine for both. I knew what games were coming to the PS3 when I made my decision but, BD also played a role in my decision.

I bought my PS3 for *games*, especially games like MGS4, Final Fantasy XIII, FFXIII Versus, Little Big Planet, Resistance 2, and other stuff coming in 2009 hopefully.

I would love to see Home, but I'm slowly starting to think that Sony is dragging their feet a little too slowly on this.

I doubt the announcement of Home saw a large leap in console sales as well. No on in their right mind would by the PS3 for that feature alone. That feature is supposed to complement the games coming for the system. Without good games, Home would be nothing. Who the hell buys a system for Home?

i bought mine because i knew it was gonna be the most...electrifying system of all time! ok but on a serious note its exactly one year since i've purchased my ps3 and at that time i had no idea about home until i downloaded the trailer, and then it just made me even more excited about my purchase but i bought it solely because i've always been a playstation fan and always loved what each playstation system had to offer...i didnt buy a ps3 for one game or for one feature...most people look for that ONE game or ONE feature to justify a purchase...me i look for the overall quality and longevity of the system and that why i chose the ps3...long ass comment by the way
