Insomniac are not known to use CG in games even the Ratchet commercial was all ingame assets only using Mental Ray as a renderer. So we'll see but I think it is ingame.

Insomniac, unlike evolution studios, never use CG even to target renders for the public, so I think we can safely assume this is in-game until further confirmation is given, I mean even if it isn't in-game, judging from those screenshots that its gonna look just like that.

And they've also been in a modest way boasting about their engine on the ps3, how they've managed to make it so it looks unbelievably incredibly detailed and realistic but at the same time making it so a hell of a lot of things can be going on at the same time in the background (like those explosions and flying things) just like in Ratchet and Clank.

Plus remember Geurilla (Killzone 2 developers) were helping Insomniac out with their engine, plus Sony share their resources. OKAY IM SO PUMPED FOR THIS!

Wow, way to edit your original comment. Resistance was a solid FPS from a brilliant developer who had previously only done 1 FPS. The original Halo wasn't that hot either but it was a launch title for the Xbox which made it sell a lot. It was also one of the first FPS on console to offer co-op play which was a major plus. Play all the way through Resistance, and hop online and play for a while, and you will understand it is much more than numbers.

Probably the first and only time I'll agree with toughname. "Brunch" you are wrong, man. Resistance was far better than weak and judging by how hot and how fast the posts are coming in, a lot of people are looking forward to this game. I can't wait!

I hope that was in-game, but I have my doubts. Either way, that was one incredible shot. Was anyone else kind of surprised at Hale's voice? I don't remember his voice like that from before or am I just forgetting? Been awhile since I fired it up. Fvck, now we have to wait until 13 Jun...

um...Sony most likely doesn't have a lot to do with the launch date of MGS4...its not published by SCE...they probably have some say, but I doubt that the gameplay trailer for RES2 was influenced by it...

Insomniac told them how much time the needed...GTTV bought up some rights to the 'exclusive' showing of it...and someone said 'how about friday the 13th?' probably...thats my guess anyway...I don't think MGS4 has anything to do with when they decided to show it...

Lair does have some nice water, but the water in this trailer moves a lot more fluidly and looks a lot more like real water.

I'm leaning more towards pre-rendered footage using in-game assets than footage with visuals representative of actual gameplay. It'd be nice if I were proven wrong, though.

I mean, anybody that has played R&C:F know that Insomniac can have a lot of things going on at once. They said they are using an upgraded engine from R&C:F, so it highly probable that it was in-game. Just hearing Hale speak and massive ships hovering by just gave me that good tingling feeling you get in your stomach.

Even if it's not real time by that teaser I know the game is going into a good direction. Gears of War 1 may have beat out Resistance 1 but I think Insomniac is serious this time around.

if Resistance was a multiplatform game, it would be another shooter of the bunch, not bad, but average... like Dark Sector.

The first Resistance was not an aclaimed hit... same with Killzone... dont know why you guys get all hyped that game sucked a$$ and yes i played it but it was so ugly i had to put it down.

The only reason why Sony fanboys hyped those games (same with Haze, wich looks like the most generic shoter ever), is because you guys need something to compete againts the good shoters in the 360.

The first Resistance was average?
I guess these days in order for a FPS to be average, it has to....
1. Be a PS3 exclusive
2. Have very good enemy AI (Better than those dumb ass Locust in GeOW)
3. Have a variety of exotic weapons that have alternative fire Eg: Shoot out force shields, tag onto an enemy, slow down time and shoot through walls.
4. Have a 15 hour story
5. Have a huge big online mode with 40 players to enjoy after the very long story mode.
6. Have very creepy environments
7. Have huge boss fights (Which we hardly ever see in FPS)
8. Support proper HD, unlike some overhyped Xbox 360 exclusive (You know what i'm talking about)

Oh well, at least you Xbox PleaseFixMe guys have the (un)innovative Queers...I mean.... Gears of War 2.

That Gears 2 demo was just that a DEMO running on a PC. And it does not compare to all the textures and ANIMATION you see in this short video.
