totally agree with lamback. insomniac employees work day and night and still manage to make EXCELLENT games! dunno what Guerilla studios are up to, im hyped up for killzone 2 but nothing has been shown. at least insomniac can promise their progress with the upcoming trailer. cant wait!

do you really think GG has been this secretive because they want to be? Sony has made them keep quite about this game. It's staying quite for a reason. I would have believed it was because the game sucked but, after last years E3, I KNOW the game will rock.

It's like everyone is forgetting about the reaction from last year. It wasn't just gamers that were blown away, the whole industry was blown away.

RFOM 2 is going to rock but, don't get down about KZ2. I have this feeling a repeat of least year WILL happen and we'll be blown away again.

I disagree. Guerilla have been hushed because of the controversy surrounding the "trailer", and I'm sure they are working hard on Killzone 2. Look at Valve. Valve are a huge company, and yet there are years between Half Life games and few updates (not including fan made mods) that keep the ball rolling in between. Does that mean Valve sucks? By comparison, other developers churn out dozens of titles in that amount of time.

Insomniac may have their third PS3 game in the works, but that alone doesn't mean Killzone 2, GG's first PS3 effort - deserves less recognition.

You're wrong... b/c KZ2 alpha footage looked better than both Resistance and R&C. Resistance 2 may look as good or better than KZ2. But the point is that GG has been WORKING all this time to make sure their game met a certain standard. If they had released the game earlier and the visuals were at the same standard as Resistance or R&C, then hype for the game would be dead b/c they promised to deliver cutting edge visuals. In reality, they have worked just as long as Insomniac to produce a great looking game but if it had been released earlier, their inability to match the 05 trailer would have been ammunition to fanboys.

And THAT is the truth of the matter... bubbles please :-)

I know the lack of information from Killzone 2 is quite disheartening but we should not base our opinion on that. The game looks fantastic, it had the ingredients to make AAA title. What I believe is they are holding up all the info for two reasons,
A) just unleash it at E3. Sony wants to blow its competition out of water at E3. They had a pretty strong E3 last year and hopefully they will have the same.
B) They don't want to overhype it. The first killzone wasn't really that bad, the only problem was it way overhyped and was regarded as Halo Killer and end of all FPS and bla bla. They don't want that to happen again.
I think the situation will be pretty clear in the next couple of months.

I sure hope they include some gameplay in the trailer. I was a little let down by the Motorstorm 2 trailer since it was all CG.

This game is right up there with KZ2 for me. I loved the first and can't wait to play the second. I'm getting sick off all the reliability issues that plagues COD4. RFOM was reliable, had a great friend making system, party system, clan support, matchmaking system, lagless servers and mic support. Something a lot of other games should learn from.

I beat it on all difficulties and felt the game was long and challenging. Multilayer is where the longevity of the game comes into play though. If a game is solid, I'll play through the game twice or more but, with a good online component, I'll play the game for MONTHS.

RFOM2 looks to improve in all areas for it's second outing. I can't wait.

Well all teasers and trailers so far Insomniac have released are all in-game. Take the Ratchet & Clank Future teaser and Resistance 1 teaser for examples, it was all in the game engine.

The engine that the game runs on has been improved. We know this too since R&C looked 10x better then resistance did. The dev's have already said that they've improved the engine with the same leap as they did between RFOM and R&C. Expect RFOM 2 to look bonkers. To top that off, we know details about RFOM2 that are sure to make the title that much better. 8 player online coop. 60 player online with the introduction of classes, squads and vehicles to control gameplay. Two separate story lines to play out. Constant FP view during the story.

It's easy to get stoked on this game because,

A. the first one was good
B. The devs are amazing
C. The games looks to improve in all areas that brought the first one down

I do, however, expect at least this much if not more from KZ2 though. I think that game will blow everyone away. I just think RFOM 2 will be more then you give it credit.

Insomniac don't do CG - I expect they'll use their engine - get it up to what they will want it to look like on release, and then record it at a lower framerate and speed it up for the trailer.

Agreed Deep, I expect the same treatment for Resistance 2 trailers that they gave to Ratchet and Clank. All of R and C's trailer were made in house with their engine and Trailers for Resistance 2 should be no different. I love devs like Insomniac, truely gods amongst men.

dude gears only sold that much because it was the only nxt gen game out and the only nxt gen console that was out was 360 so thats why it moved so many console. i kno lots and i mean lots of people who think gears sux ass that bought. i bought gears and it was not worth it is just overhyped.

that Gears of War proved to me that it was very fun to play the first Fu*king week.
Offline completion a lot less than what I expected, beat the game the very first day I bought it...
I prefer online games more than I like offline.

I thought I liked it the first 2 or 3 days, but after the 5th or 6th day, I got sick of it.
Not because I was a bad player, actually I was very good at it and that was one reason why I continued for more than 3 weeks.(Also because of some Noob friends I had, they were so obsessed with this game...)
The last reason what made me continue playing this game longer than 3 weeks was because, when the game released, there wasn't any other new and good online games out there before and after its release for the next gen systems, and I believe the PS3 wasn't out yet, (I might be wrong about PS3, I just didn't had one yet) and many were victims of this reason.

I had plenty of KILLs online in Gears of War, but when killing someone, it.... just.... didn't... had that same magical feeling like when killing someone in Socom online!

It might just be me, but I been a Socom player since Socom 1 on the Playstation 2, and that is probably why I felt this way...

Now, I am getting tired of Unreal Engine gfx. I just can't look at it the same way anymore. Makes me sick.

I'm NoT exited about its sequel and probably won't care to buy it.
My time will be consumed by much better games...
