Well, another week, another Home story. Except this one's quite interesting: according to this guy (warning: site is advert/banner hell and kills Firefox) enterprising folk have managed to use the Folding@Home exploit to grab v1.00 of Home. Naturally, the whole would explode if people could actually play it, but despite a 200MB download the thing is still locked just now. Waiting for Sony to flick the switch? Looks like it. If they get this thing ready for April 15th, we're in for one hell of a treat next week...

Its been such a long wait I don't even care about home anymore. Just give me in game xmb, custom soundtracks and an accomplishments tracker I'll be happy. If sony had focused on just that we'd have those things by now, and wouldn't be waiting a year and a half later for features that should have been part of the launch.

1st off... Home beta is over 400megs now (that version is old!)
2nd - it is account and system ID tied so unless you are in out of luck
and 3rd the website tries to install a virus...

aka: complete and utter fake.

Although we all can't wait for Home, I seriously doubt it is coming anytime in the next few weeks (and likely months). When it is finally ready, however, it should revolutionize the social networking of any game console ever made. Period.

just tried it and worked great and as described. It loads up Home under the network of the XMB. Only thing is it wont let you connect to the servers, as they are obviously not up yet. As this was originally sourced from the new store, looks like home is coming with the new store next week :)
