First videos Saints Row 2 released

THQ has released the first videos of Saints Row 2 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The the first video shows the taunting system and the second shows combat using satchel charges.

Developed by THQ's critically acclaimed internal studio Volition, Inc. using their proprietary open-world engine, Saints Row 2 will offer vastly expanded customization options, a totally transformed and expanded city of Stilwater, all new vehicles, sandbox tools and toys as well as both online co-op and competitive multiplayer.

1.2 - Volition knows they can't compete with GTA IV
They pretty much openly parody the GTA franchise. While I'm a hardcore GTA fan (taking off a full week of work for GTA IV) I'm still excited for Saints Row 2. It can't stand up the greatness that is GTA IV but its still fun for sandbox fans. I'll be picking up a copy...

I like their PS3 intro logo at the start of the Prologue commercial in the 2nd video, how it slides across the screen...kinda decent.

atleast these guys arent completely copying rockstar by making it more realistic. I think this will be a much more funny lighthearted approach. Without Saints Row, that side of the GTA style games could have been lost. I thank them for that, since i think most of the comedy could be lost in the GTAs to come. I think ill pick it up when its released for sh*ts and giggles lol.

Even though I couldn't watch the trailer, Saints 2 will provide some fun senseless gameplay. And while it won't take on GTA IV, it's not to say it won't be fun. I see so many people on here are so quick to put this game down, why?

I guess "It's fad" to hate any other sandbox title except GTA IV?!?

It's just incredible how people can buy mediocre games. I can understand parents, but guys who are well informed about games. Wake up people, we already are on the "next gen". That graphics/physics is definitely "old gen" (just in high res)

Ill be getting GTAIV for the 360, and Probably Saints Row 2 for the PS3, It would be neat to see HOME features for Saints Row 2 which I hope are planned. But I believe there will be.
