1 - Amazing news.
It appears GT5p might end up being the best £20 i spend this year.

This would obviously also hint at a 2009 release for the full GT5.

i hate to break it to you. but if you think you'll only spend 20 pounds till the rest of 2008 then you're mistaken. somewhere along the line we'll have to pay for the extra content.

You might be right there dude, but honestly, I don't think they will charge us. The extra content might help to encourage people would didnt think the current Prologue is worth the cash to re-evaluate it and maybe make the purchase.

The more people that they can get playing prologue, the more they are likely to sell when the full GT is released.

I don`t think that`s what he was saying.....

He`s just happy he can get it for $20, for $20 whats the disc/DL is great. Battlefield: Bad Company should be $20. (i don`t know how to do pounds) -_-

What doesn't?

Everything have DLC now days. You want more maps on COD4, Halo3? PAY? You want GTA4 best version? You will have to pay extra for it.

Yamuchi stated in an interview that he wanted little to no other transactions outside the purchase of Prologue from now to the release of the full GT5.

There has already been an update to GT5P that added over 30 vehicles and a new course, and it was free. And he calls this an "update," not DLC. Updates are free. Look at Warhawk, that has had numerous updates that have added features to the game. I'm not saying GT5P won't have any downloadable content (I.E. stuff you pay for), because Warhawk has that too, but the major updates to the game are free, you just have to pay for the new maps. I get the impression that this update will be free, with the car damage and stuff. It'd be moronic to pay extra money just so the cars look damaged when you wreck them. It'll be free, I'm sure of it.

Also, GT5P has tons of new content all the time, with the Top Gear channel which is consistently updated so you can have tons of new content about real life cars and driving and stuff.

this isn't really surprising for me, i have been following his ramblings on damage for a while. glad to know it will come this yr:). Hopefully we get a track or 2 or maybe a couple of tracks as well via update.

@killertrap they already said they don't want to charge anyone for any updates. 40 bucks is a harsh price and they know it. The producer for the american version said it in an interview.

GT5p is basically a beta test for the full GT, they've stated this a number of times, so expect more features to be added for free as they work toward the full build release.

They are still gonna complain that the tire noise (screeching) is the same as before.

Im still buying it .. Cant wait . But i must admit the tire noise(screeching) and the weird"wind wave(Ouuuuiiiiiiiiiiiiiishhhhh h)" noise when you hit the sand trap is very anoying and needs some work.

Not sure. You need a 5GB install for the disc version and the uk store comes in with about 1.8GB however i hear there is a 1.5GB update untop of that.

I'd seen a few pretty videos on the net.

I'd heard it was a Prologue.

But I went on Youtube and saw it in action and holy macaroons it looks great. I looked at a Froza Comaprison which I don't care about, but I do prefer the 3rd person dirving to 1st person, and the richsness of the paintwork, and the glow of the lights.

I was blown away.

3 - The title should say....
"Yamuchi confirms damage....Again and Again and Again"

or

"Yamuchi Tells You To STFU, It`s Coming"

I like the 2nd one better.

"Again and Again and Again"

I havent seen/heard/read anywhere previously that he said damage will be in Prologue. I think perhaps your confusing this with the Full GT having damaged confirmed several times.

edit: Dora, I watched that video interview (rediculous voice over), and if I remember correctly the question was referring to GT5, something along the lines of "can we expect to see damage in GT5?"

Either way, we're getting it and I'm stoked, cant wait for the update, I'm gonna jump in my F40 in Daytona, turn that sucker around and go head on at some poor NPC at 200mph! CARNAGE!

I genuinely do hope the damage will rival that of Burnout, in a realistic way.

I want to actually be scared to crash with soemthing. Cus my beauitful car will be mashed up. Or my beauitful body for that matter.

5 - Already talk of an update, to include damage?
The game hasn't even been released yet in Canada, and their already planning to add damage modelling, and better the online interface. This just makes me want the game that much more. Damnit, I can't wait, I want it NOW!

I don't know who's disagreeing with my statement, but I'm just saying this news just upped my need for this game.

10 - Just a question.
I'm thinking of getting the logitech G25 steering wheel when I pick up prologue. Can anyone tell me, is it worth the $300.00 for this game?

Thanks fishy, I am a huge fan of driving games(not all though). I guess it just comes with the territory, I've worked in the automotive industry for 16yrs. now. Your input is always welcomed.

Yes and No. If your buying it purely for prologue, i'd say no, get the cheaper wheel. But if your a fan of driving games definetly YES, the G25 is fantastic and worth every penny if you get the use out of it, remember pretty much all future driving games will support it.

Basically, you should never need to buy another wheel, so if you see yourself playing more driving games in the future go get it. It wont disappoint.

10.2 - G25 rocks
I got a G25 and its my favorite gaming device but if you buy only for gt5 its a lot of money.
Im into Race sim on pc and i have many use for my g25 i personnaly wouldnt buy only for my ps3.

On the ps3
I played Gt-Hd demo with the g25 and the Japanese demo of gt5p and it was a lot of fun.
If you buy that wheel then get GRID too and DIRT . Get some use out of it.

And when buy it let me know and add me to your psn list we will race :)

Well, if anybody remembers GT2, it had a wet track. Who knows, maybe weather effects are in the pipeline, as is damage.

But I agree, after damage modeling, weather effects should come next. And if anybody can pull it off, it's polyphony.

If you ever played GTR2 on pc.. in a night race with rain, in full sim mode. Youll know why weather effect is needed.

It was in an article where a PD developer said we would have damage modeling back last year. This was the first time we heard that damage would be included but it was still unconfirmed by PD.

In the article he also claimed dynamic weather would be included. This gives possible credibility to the dynamic weather. I still cant find the dang story though.

I don't think you realize that Gran Turismo is suppose to simulate real race tracks with actual events. So you're not going to see snow with these cars. Do you ever see nascars driving in the snow? I do think some weather effects can be in their like rain, maybe snow falling only (depending on the place)...etc. Something that can be unexpected when setting up an even in real life.
