Warhawk Update v1.3 is Now Available for Download

The Warhawk servers have now gone down for maintenance until 4PM GMT. However they have now made the v1.3 update available for download. To download the new update just start up the game and it will ask you to download the new v1.3 update. Its as easy as that.

The new features that are in the new update are as follows:
*BIO-FIELD EMITTER (Creates a zone of healing for allies and a zone of damage for enemies)
*MECHANIC FIELD WRENCH (can be used to repair allied vehicles and turrets as well as damage enemy vehicles and turrets)
*Integration of Contest Winner Insignias and Paint Schemes
*.50cal turret targeting enhanced
*Point value update for CTF defend and flag-carrier kill
*CTF Sudden-Death trigger fix
*Disabled CTF Flag throw/drop functionality
*New VOIP Functionality
*HOME Game-Launching

Once you've downloaded the update you'll be ready to play when the servers go back up at 4PM GMT.

@ Bug: no, only 500,000+ people on the leaderboards. I have 300+ hours into that game( never played anything that much before) and I'm only ranking in the top 7,000.

@ Varsaqrus: I think Halo is nothing compared to Warhawk, but it's way more popular, I guess because it's easier to play and is backed by Microsoft hype machine. Just my opinion and I should also mention that like many older (30+) gamers I'm pretty sick of FPS by now.

Something i wish they would include in an update is if warhawks would increasingly take damage if they touch vehicles. The amount of times i have seen it on CTF where a warhawk will ram a car (with the flag carrier in it) off a bridge or a cliff. Or the main one is when warhawks just land in front of your car and ram you back. Sorry thats just not fair. It just shows how useless the pilot is if he hasn't got enough skill to shoot the car down. Apart from being desperate, its just a completely unfair way to play, and its put me off the game quite a bit. And whoopti freakin do, they've disabled the ability to throw the flag. That means that if i get rammed off a bridge by a warhawk i can't throw the flag away to at least keep it in play while i die. You know what, i dunno if im even gonna buy this update. Everybody's Golf and Gran Turismo has my attention at the moment. Incognito, warhawk's a great game but fix the crap because it makes it needlessly frustrating.

yeah but they're not always available, and they're quite a big target for a plane. The cars are great cos they're fast and can dodge the planes bullets. Unfortunately planes take advantage of how light they are. Still, warhawk is the best multiplayer game ive ever played, i do like it

When you get a Warhawk blocking your path - jump out of your vehicle immediately and start tossing grenades at it. Even better if you have land mines - throw a couple around yourself. I can't tell you how many times I got rid of warhawks blocking me that way.

Also you will have no choice - you HAVE TO download the update if you want to keep playing. It's the operation broken mirror that is optional.

ramming jeeps is not fair as much as shooting an unarmed man in real life is not fair, or kicking a man while he's down is not fair. The jeep cannot do a thing to the plane. When im hunting down flag carriers in cars while im in a warhawk, i'll always hover and shoot them down. Cos for one thing my aim doesn't suck and i can take them down in like 3 seconds. And secondly, i like to give the car a fighting chance, cos all he can do is evade me. And if he does evade me, then he deserves to capture the flag. Im not desperate enough to resort to ramming because it is completely unfair. And blaming the team for not helping is lousy. Either your on a good team or your not. Either they'll know to help you or not. All it comes down to is that the ramming warhawk has no respect, no sense of fair fighting, is a sore loser and he is desperate cos he resorts to ramming jeeps cos he sucks so much and aiming. Sorry but it pisses me off so much that i don't play it anymore. Capturing flags is what im best at, i've captured around 900 flags now with 350 warhawk wings. And often if i choose not to go after the flag, NOBODY goes after the flag. So forget it, until Incognito fix it, i'll rarely be on warhawk. Which is a shame because it really is a great game, if but frustrating

Ok i have been playing warhawk since it's been out A LOT... what do they mean throw the flag... Since when can you have thrown the flag if you were the F Carrier? I thought you had it until you were killed???

Also.. I really like warhawk... this game and re play of resident evil 4 will hold me over until MGS4 comes out... but does any think that the "balance" that warhawk always had is starting to shift??? Two new Healing modes??? it's going to get a lot tougher to get kills

the rank updates work. im sure you are just missing part of the requirement to gain rank. its most likely you need to get your 4x4 badge (killing 5 guys with the jeep in a round). check the requirements for your next rank, im sure your missing something.

same thing happend to me, found out, then jumped a couple ranks after i got my badge. felt like a retard.

actually in the game if you look under "rank advancement" it will show you what is required. IAR means "In A Round" so whatever it says you need to perform that in one single round. i guarantee that is your problem, you need the 4x4 badge. kill 5 troops with the jeep by either running them over or using the 50cal.....In A Round.
