New look PS Store advertised on PS Store

DarkZero writes: "We know that a new look PlayStation Store is coming, but seeing that Sony Europe are so sporadic with their updates it is nice to know that they seem aware of it too. The first news of the store update was confirmed earlier this month by John Hight, but now it seems Sony are happy enough to publicly promote its arrival on their service. As such, they have launched a new advertising banner proclaiming that a "Great new look" will "coming soon." The banner is not clickable, so no further info was revealed on when it may be coming or what new features it may bring."

If they can just make it easier for new users to get into the store, find good contents, and purchase/download them, it should really help them out. Hopefully we'll see another revision when Home hits and they get more integrated together.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a crapload of new content, a la PSOne games, alongside the new redesign.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking but it would make a lot of sense as to maybe why they are 'holding back' quite a bit of games it may seem.

What about an XMB-style PSstore but looking like that. A sidebar with the categories and the downloads on the right (not in picture format like that though).

Would be much better than the current one.

It should be like the Vista Windows Media Center (Stole the XMB idea and rotated it 90 degrees), everything categorised in the right place, easy to sort and easy to get to as well.

they sould combine all the stores for all countrys into one for a start.... that would solve server problems and faster loading times

yer i quite agree use flash and java script the ps3 has it so use it.

and the new look best have better list and catogorys to find things.

better search system and the images to be less in size for faster loading times. and use a bit more of the ps3's power to load the store faster.

it needs to look good but useable to. far better then the store we have now

well guys i will like to see sony take these designs below via the links below, these designs are what we want the ps store to really be like and not what it currently is.

The current PlayStation Store design kind of bland. And it being on the browser really makes it worse. Currently, two really good designs have been made for the PlayStation Store. Check out this link:

A very crafty member named Cruzader made his view of what the PlayStation Store should like look. And sorry to say Sony, his is much better than the current. Now, I'm not saying we should use this specific design, but I'm saying Sony, you should get working on a new one, that is not built into a webpage. It should be a built in program on the PLAYSTATION 3, so that it launches better, and goes faster.

This one is Sony's with a nice twist. Sony, you should check these out, maybe contact onAXIS or Cruzader and try to work on that design. Maybe even make up your own new one. But not one that is in the web browser and looks different on SDTV's. It should be one that loads up from the PlayStation 3, not web based.

the reason im most excited about the new look, is not the actual concept

but i expect them to drop some seriously hot content to coincide, like Wipeout HD or something

but the new look sounds cool too, the current layout is kinda clunky and un-organized

so i got a disagree? i wonder who gave me that? i mean those two concepts would be a better fit than whats currently available,

the first concept is from a friend of mine, and it is his design that i would love sony to use as a true upgrade to the store and not some web page.

the 360 has blades that are well integrated to the OS so things always seem to run seamlessly.

if sony were to take the time to built a store like this one and add things like home and the 2.4 FW update than yeah psn will really be on par with live as far as feature and exes ability goes.

not much i guess but a web base page isn't even a good thing no more, hacks, slowdown you name it. and that whole mouse clicker is just annoying if you will.

also a disagree with no valid explanation as to why? yeah sure the singstore is good in its own right and everything, but the one i posted here via links i believe is a much better approach as it blends the lines between the style of the OS and the psn in general, just like the market place blade does with the rest of that OS for the 360 thats all.

plus logically speaking, it plain outright makes more sense if you think about it.
