1.1 - I am just taking a guess here
but I would say because of COD4. It really raised the bar of what can be accomplished with a sequel when a developer puts serious thought and effort into it.

RS:V2 is a great game and I have enjoyed it thus far. I like the changes they have made to the ranking system and enjoy the challenges of getting all the gear unlocked. However, to compare it to COD4 is silly. They both are great and deserve their own spotlights.

R6:V2 can't touch COD4 with a 10 foot pole!

I can't believe you are seriously comparing CoD 4 to CoD 2 in terms of graphics. Thats moronic. While you're at it you might as well compare the orginal CoD to Quake 3 'cause it use the same engine.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think that RSV2 also used the same engine as the first one, and some people say it even looks worse then #1

Where CoD4, I don't know if they used the engine they did as CoD 2 and if they did it was a HUGE improvement over CoD2

The first Rainbow Six: Vegas used the Unreal Engine. I don't know about the sequel, but I strongly believe it's using the same thing. If you ask me, I think the first game looks better than the "sequel".

As for Call of Awesome 4, you are correct. It's the same tech that powered the second game.

Fun fact: Did you know that COD4 uses LESS polygons than COD2? =)

well RSV2 doesn't look worse than the first, and COD4 definetly looks better than than COD2.

in regards to the MP problems, apparently RSV2 is having problems with MP as well. And the single player campaign doesn't feel so fresh compared to the first.(which was lacking anyway) There were things they could have built on in that and they just didn't, so much focus on MP these days...it really annoys me.

Single player games are being destroyed because of everyone getting all stupid happy over MP like it's the second coming, and so developers follow accordingly. It's a shame.

Metal Gear Solid 4 awaits me. (not MGO)

I'm ready for a game with DEPTH. With STYLE. CHARACTER. EMOTION. Enough of this bang bang I killed you nameless internet 12 year old kid, time to get back to real games. That's where I'll be.

3 - enough with cod4 :/
the game was good, but you dont have to base it on ever other game. i actually have a lot more fun on rainbow six 1 and 2 than cod4. Cod4 died once camping became the new fad, who doesnt love wimps hiding on a stair case waiting for you to walk by wooo fun

4 - Just remember
This is Rainbow Six "VEGAS" 2! If this was to be an entirely new game they would have moved on from the Vegas phase Rainbow Six is currently in.

@ bloodysinner

Yeah, I had a strange feeling of familiarity when I played COD 4 for the first time....

It's because I had played #2 a lot, and it just so happens to be they use the same engine!

The grenade sound effects, the camera feel, the texture work....it all seems similar, although of course COD 4 is ratched-up a bit in comparison.

On another note, I have yet to play RS:V2, so I can't really say how it compares. I might rent it just to see what the fuss is about.

I can't understand why people are so down on this game, it's superb, the single player is much the same as the first but there was nothing really wrong with it anyway, mp is where this game belongs though, granted it has some problems, it can be a pain at times trying to connect to a game but get together with a friend in Terrorist hunt and it's a blast.

It's easily as much fun in mp as COD4 (wjich is excellent) because they're very different games, COD4 is very much run and gun, try that in R6V2 and you'll die ...........a lot. lol.

7 - The game is fun
It's as simple as that. I like how it is something different in terms of the T-hunt with buddies and that the single player story was rather fun to play through so far. It's not nearly as bad as GRAW 2 was in terms of sequals and the graphics not being much better than the first don't bother me. They may be bland but it's the core game play that makes the game fun.

I just wish they would get their act together and fix the PS3 version. That is the last time I buy a dual platform game on my PS3.

It does use the same engine as the first, so its basicly the same as the first but with new maps. Its still a good game tho, playing it at the minute but major problems online. 2 days in and still not been able to get into one online game. looking at the post on the ps forum, seems as tho hundreds of people are having the same problem too.

Everyone is having the same problem. I like the game better than the original when I can actually get into a game.

Listen up guys I'm thinking of getting this game as I like tactical shooters, especially after playing COD4. Is the single-player good on the PS3? I hear some complaints about the PS3 version but from what I gather it's the online aspect of the game that is being criticised. I'm only interested in playing it on single-player, so let me know whats up. Thanks

Official General...the campaign I think is better than the original. They put you in fewer situations where you are completely out numbered and getting shot at from every side. There are more places for cover and I think the AI is a little better. The levels aren't as cool because you are not really in casinos for the most part but I think the campaign in RSV2 is designed for more strategy than the first one. However, what you heard about the online component is true. You won't be able to connect to most matches and the ones you can connect to usually drop out. I'm sure at some point Ubisoft will fix the problem but it may be long after I am to frustrated to go back to the game.

I like this game. The Vegas titles are the only tactical games I've been able to play without feeling overwhelmed by helmet cams and advanced team management. It's really user friendly and easy to learn.

Well I think my mind is made up, I'll buy this game and part-cash and part exchange it with my Medal of Honour Airborne or my Assassin's Creed. It's looks like I may like it.

@ tony - I have COD4 already and I've completed it. Just want another game to play, thanks for the advice anyway.

probably would've sold better if advertised as an expansion pack not as a sequel. RESISTANCE 2 is a sequel, almoast everything is different, better graphics, better gameplay, better story telling and hell of a better multiplayer. THATS what you call a #2.
