Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection Ships, Playstation Compatibility Varies

Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection has shipped to retailers. That means you should be able to pick it up tomorrow or in the next couple of days to be well versed in Solid Snake's saga. The 3 game compilation includes Metal Gear Solid (PSone), Directors Cut of Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance (PS2) and Directors Cut of Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence (PS2) for $29.99.

Being a multi-Playstation platform release, which many Playstation 3 gamers may be considering in preparation for Metal Gear Solid 4, take note on some differences on compatibility.

"- "Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance" and "Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence" are only backwards compatible on 20GB, 60GB and 80GB Playstation 3 Systems (not on 40GB)."

5 - europe?
Does it come to europe? Or must I import it from the US? And can I play US games on my ps 3? I know I can do it with ps 3 games, but I don't know if I can do it with US ps 2 and 1 games.
