Half a million is pretty good for an online only game (that has zero single player) that you can only play on the ps3. Especially considering it hasn't even been out for 6 months.

I know WoW and other MMORPG's are also online only but that's for the pc (much larger installed base).

I agree, this is not good enough to be news. However I trully believe the game sold alot higher than 1/2 million...

Considering:
A) this is a ranked stats page, what about ps3 users with multiple user names (actually less sales?). The negative point players are obviosly team killers with other accounts (last page)

B) this is US ONLY. Yes, i know alot of other people's names are on there from EU but that was due to glitch. I doubt it's even fixed.

This game is great but would of sold twice as much if they lowered price by 25%, and had an option to play split screen without having to connect to internet.

It may have not as much, but the game is the most bought PSN title on the ps3.

this game is great and its a pity it hasn't sold more than this. I think the game should get a price drop and better promotional push and it should sell better. Sony didn't do a good job marketing and advertising when it came out. Most ppl probably think its a flying game only

It still burns my arse that PSM gave Warhawk a 6.5. I consider that to be a little harsh considering they are a Playstation only mag, and no other review came close to what I consider to be a low score.

I am pretty sure that includes downloads too because that is all the people who have ever played a ranked match in Warhawk. So that would include both versions. But for me, I have had the game since day one and only played 3 ranked matches. I always create games or join unranked games that look fun and have put a ton of hours into the game. I played my first 3 ranked matches recently so I would not have shown up there before that.

Not just that, but this is a LEADERBOARD that info is coming from. Use your common sense. Over half a mil was sold in the U.S. alone. Go find the npd numbers on that.

I'm on it as well even though I'm Canadian.. not sure if that counts, but I am pleased to say I'm not one of those people with negative points! =) but only 1260 points... need to play more warhawk, but I'm working on Ratchet FTOD at the moment!

EDIT: I'm not sure what my rank is, but I'm usually playing on unranked server games, but whatever, I have a hard time getting into all the full games as it is!

despite launching to a game base of 2 million

Gears was launched to an x360 base of 10 million

Resistance 2/Killzone 2 will sell 5 million in Europe alone and so does FF13/GT5P/GT5/MGS4

so whats the point

FF13 will sell between 10m-20 million in europe alone and is projected to be the biggest game of this generation

Resistance 2/Motorstorm 2/GT5/MGS4 all of them would easily sell over 10 m in their lifetime

By the launch of those games PS3 would have an install base of around 12m/20m in europe( region with HIGHEST PURCHASING POWER)

Plus you also know that PS3 will sell more than 100million this generation ( perhaps 100 million in europe alone)

so whats your point?

expect new sales records with PS3 games this year.

GT5 P alone has over 2 million preorders in US+EUROPE

It will easliy sell 5 million copies worldwide

i predict at least 50 million ps3 will be sold in europe, and around 40-50 in USA and 30-40 in japan and 20 million in the rest of the world!

completely dead in europe. The price cut had 0 impact of Amazon FR/DE ---sites normally used by foreigners living in those countries

over 60% of x360s have been traded in for PS3 in europe.

All PS3 exclusives have sold over 500k worldwide. Unfortunately 2008 is the year where x360 completely dies in USA too

I'd say around 70% of PS3s have been traded in for XBOX 360's in the US since we can just spout crap without ever backing it up with facts.

and the margin gets bigger with time this year.

PS3 will be having all those 42 million PS3 users in its camp + some xbox and wii fans on its side too.

DMC4 sold almost as much as the x360 version on PS3

as for claims

YOU WILL NEVER FIND x360 anywhere in europe except on the AMZON UK sites /some UK sites.

x360's games never enter the top 10 charts of any eu countries. DMC4 x360 version also flopped in Spain/Germany/France/Italy

It couldnt even enter the top 10 list of those countries. Does that answer your question

WOW, A WHOLE 0.5 MILLION !!! That's pretty amazing, and has to be the top position for PS3 software sales, if I'm not mistaken... Congratulations Sony, you truly pulled out all the stops and showed the world that software does indeed sell on your machine.

Hopefully more developers will take note of profits like these, and will begin developing exclusively for the PS3.
