Devil May Cry 4 became 9th PS3 title to pass 1 million

According to VGChartz, Devil May Cry 4 has become the 9th PS3 software title to pass the 1 million sales milestone. Devil May Cry 4(PS3) has sold 1 million units faster than Devil May Cry(XBox 360) by a notable margin(60,000 units sold more on the PS3 version, largely due to Japanese sales figures)

1.1 - VG Chartz has it wrong AGAIN
So according to VGChartz, during the first 3 weeks in the USA DMC4 sold

1) 195,872
2) 85,424
3) 62,364

Which I'm roughly gonna estimate at 340k. The NPD numbers (which is pretty much the official numbers) for February, DMC4 sold around 230k. In other words, the numbers are way off.

if it's shipped then it wouldn't be a big deal announcing such a number.

keep in mind this is also world wide. Not NA, as NPD looks at NA numbers only in japan total to date according to Media creates #s 300K, and in NA NPD has clocked it in at 340+K and EU and UK accounts for the rest acording to VGcharts, either way the game has sold quite well.

Agree that the numbers are BS. Considering VGchartz over estimated 360 DMC4 sales by almost 400 thousand in NA which is where the bulk of DMC4 sales are from. With the great lead provided by DMC4 in JP and DMC4 being almost neck and neck on both platforms in EU and NA, I would say the lead is a lot larger than 60,000 actually more regardless, none of the versions have reached the 1 million mark. VGchartz is full of blaphemy

capcom has come out and said it that DMC4 has sold over 2 million worldwide. I'll take Capcom over VGcharts any day. with that being said i'm sure that it's sold both well on the PS3 and the Xbox 360, it's a new game from capcom on the xbox platform and a great franchise on the the Sony platform. why wouldn't a high profile title such as that sell great on either and not sell in excess of 1 million on each platform?

capcom refers to shipped not sold. How did capcom get the estimates of over 2 million when it has sold most on ps3 and ps3 hasn't even crossed the 1 million point yet. At least according to NPD data

vg chartz where do they get there information from i mean to get the full hardware and console data of sales would cost thousands and thousand of pounds in the uk alone, theres about three different data collection companys in the uk
when sony said it was outselling the 360 by 3 to 1 in jan microsoft did,nt say sh$t this in the eu why because it spends a fortune with these data collecting companys so ms couldn,t dispute it there the facts then vg chartz has them like 10,000 to 20,000 depending on the week no vg chartz suck big time
your npd collection data only has about 65 to 70 % of all the N.A retail and online data so theres room for error a bit for vg chartz but there stats are way out

i guess warhawk kinda did for me. Just overlooking a battle is crazy

i cant say HS blew my mind even thou i really liked it. I own a ton of kungfu movies

Uncharted was very good and it blew my mind for one secound. It was when i had a Pitfall flash back...that was cool

Maybe in car GT5 with wheel will blow my mind

i have it on the 360...man, that intro haunted me for endless nights afterward. proof that gaming takes its spot high up there in the farseen zeniths of modern art's echelon. it just kinda makes me remember those days when every game had an awesome prerendered CG cinema intro. now, it's all done in realtime! it's almost a privelage to see these masters showcase their skills.

Since DMC started on sony, its gonna sell more on the ps3 than the 360, sony already has the huge fanbase...going to the 360, if users never played the game, theres a good chance they won't buy it, even if VGchartz is wrong, ive heard nothing of 360 outselling sony in the DMC4...what I've heard thou that the ps3 sold more units..until we see official numbers...why argue

if i have the cash, and i see the flash, i drop the dough. i buy because i want to buy, not becasue 4132229 people DID or 4132229 people DIDN'T. and not having played the first games in the series doesn't mean that you won't buy this game. would i have had to play the original SNES MG's to justify picking up MGS? Because that SURE would mean that nintendo fanboys are actually TRUER than PS fanboys, having been there to see the roots of the Metal Gear saga being born. truth is, MGS sold because it was A GREAT GAME, regardless of who you were or what you knew about MG's of prior.

13.2 - In terms of worldwide sales PS3 will outsell x360 version atleast 2:1/3:1
X360 version will fare a little better than the PS3 version in USA (at the moment)

However PS3 version has sold over 300,000 copies in Japan vs 49k for x360

GFK released a statement today that PS3 version of DMC4 outsold x360 version 4:1 in europe

so you can easily determine the total amount PS3 version sold

VGCRAP is CRAP--we all know it

I think it goes like this for 2 VERSIONS:-

PS3 --1.5 million
X360 --500k

by around 300k for the month of February. If that's true then DMC4 for the 360 is well behind the PS3 on a worldwide basis considering how much the PS3 version outsold the 360 in Japan alone.

When you look at VGChartz, you have to take their figures with a grain of salt. They are sales estimates and not sales facts. There's nothing wrong with that. The NPD figures are sales estimates as well. Sometimes they are off and sometimes they are right on the money.

I can assure you that Devil May Cry 4 did well on both systems and that Capcom is pleased with its world wide reception. I wish I could call this article flame bait but it isn't even an article. Please be careful with what you approve.

Its awesome that Devil May Cry 4 has passed the 1 million mark. That shows that people play games on the PS3 also, not just the 360. I am damn proud to say that I am a proud owner of a copy of DMC4 for the PS3.
