IGN reviews Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds

Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds is a tremendously fun golf game, one that should appease either casual or hardcore golf fans. It's an arcadey approach to the sport, for sure, but there's still a good deal of depth in the game that'll give veteran players plenty to work with. There could have been more courses, and the lack of voice support online is somewhat disappointing, but the overall package is a ton of fun and definitely worth picking up.

3.1 - I actually was hoping for 9+ from IGN.

I dunno about other reviewers, but I was hoping IGN would give it a 9 or better. Preaty close I guess.

EDIT: It doesn't deserve a 9, due to no voice chat online. Good job IGN!

4 - wow this is great

i played the demo on the Japanese Store early last year and i was hooked. This is a definate purchase for me... and the online is fun, so i cant wait to be golfing with my fellow gamers online.. it's funny but this game is ultimately and infinately more fun than PGA gold tour that EA makes.

its been tweaked a bit. I was hoping for a 9/9+ also. Anyhow it makes it the best console golf game available so I wont complain too much

I demand a fix it patch!

This is the only downside to this game. IGN called it arcady. I dunno, I guess it is a little bit, but the only other golf game I've seen is tiger woods where you can change the balls spin magically in the air; now that's arcady.

I think the horrible voices add to the charm of the game. It's just salt on the wound hearing your annoying opponent after sinking that eagle putt.

Because that was/alwyas will be the greatest section in the game. Hot shot golf 2 was the best golf game because of these sections.

11 - 6 courses isn't too big of a deal

If they are good courses then all the better, I mean in Fore me and my friends ended up playing only three of the 12 courses on a regular basis. There will probably be DLC too.

Its plan and simple. You are trying to blame the blu-ray disk for only have 6 courses. When this game goes to Xbox 360 they aren't going to want to place it on multi disks. So they made sure it would fit on a DVD-9 disk. I'm certain the 6 courses are not due to space limitations.

I was actually under that impression as well. But the review did say only 6 courses. We can hope can't we?

It almost seems Fore would be the better purchase for anyone not interested in online, since that seems to be the only improvement offered in OOB.

Perhaps the extra maps were hidden, and thus not noticed by IGN. But I doubt they would miss something like that. BAH! I sure hope there are more than 6 courses.

MLB the show and now hot shots

2 great games in at the beginning of the year

MLB and HS are perhaps the best games in their respective genres.

2008 is where the PS3 takes total control of the console war
