Bionic Commando PS3 has Achievements

Ben Judd, the Producer of Capcom's forthcoming Bionic Commando, has revealed that the PlayStation 3 version of the game will include its own reward system known as 'Trophies', which acts in a similar manner to the Xbox 360's own achievements.

OH and just to let everyone know, my psychic like mind tells me that in the Sony keynote, they will announce Home to be released incredibly soon, they will announce in game xmb and such.

While HOME may not implement global gamercards, the Trophy Room I've seen in a few videos would indicate a similar device for 'bragging' to friends.

I wonder if Trophy Rooms can be made Public, so other players can walk around them?

Trophy rooms will be cool. I am looking forward to Socom implementing Accomplishments. Hopefully they will not only have individual accomplishments, but also clan ones. Like if your clan wins so many wars and whatnot.

Who knows... But it does seem like multiplatform Capcom titles require it.

The backlash they are getting for DMC and Lost Planet may make them re-evaluate the decision though...

Personally I'm OK with the 5GB install.

I was wondering the same thing. I have no issues with the install on games that I'm looking forward to. Bionic Commando is one such title and I'm sure I can 5gb if it's required.

Id rather want challenges like COD4 than achievements.
Achievements are useless, i only go about 3000 on my 360 (had 15 games) before i sold it.

If done well Achievments/Accomplishments/Tr ophies/whatever can really extend replay value for some gamers.

I played Crackdown far longer than I thought I would just to complete a few more challenges. It added fun and made me play the game differently than I may have otherwise approached it.

The challenges in CoD4 are pretty sweet as well. Using weapons I wouldn't normally bother with. Or trying to get the 'kill someone by shooting an explosive device through a wall' challenge!

10 - I think the trophies should be like puzzle pecies.
Like 10 smaller trophies put together make one massive trophy. That would make the trill of getting trophies even MORE addicting IMO.

I'm probably in the minority but I don't see the need for Achievements or Accomplishment, or whatever they're being called this week. I've seen too many good gamers play crappy games or play games too often just to get some mythical points to enhance their e-penis. "My gamerscore is higher than yours, YAY!!!". Seriously? The fact that you played TMNT and Avatar The Last Airbender all the way through doesn't make you cooler, it makes you sad. But enjoy that fictional win.

18.1 - No you're not in the minority at all
A vast number of the PS fanbase find "achievements" (the way they're done onthe 360) rather pointless and would prefer something with substance.

We generally don't give a rat's ass about braggin about a numerical figure but rather having a certain item for others to see shows them that you did something great but that doesn't neccessarily mean you're a better gamer than someone else which is what a lot of people on live tend to view acheivements as.

There are actually people would won't play with you on Live if they feel your score isn't high enough - utter bullocks.

The PS fanbase jsut prefer substance to our accomplishments that actually reward us and mean something not give us some false lame sense of gaming superiority.
