COD 4 - New Maps Revealed?

Theabovedomain.com has posted some interesting images which are rumoured to be the in-game multiplayer start-up loading screens for three brand new downloadable maps for Infinity Wards smash hit Call of Duty 4. Still no word as yet though on any release date for this first batch of much awaited DLC. Sadly no sign of a map to take advantage of those night-vision goggles fully either.

I cant wait to get a few new maps, hopefully we dont have to wait long as i think i might be bored of CoD4 if they dont drop soon.

With regards to the images, they're all from single player but i thought they said they were NOT using areas from the campaign, but who knows.

I like the look of the first, i like nice tight indoor levels, provides less places for camping snipers (not that they're a bad thing, its in the game so its fine, but its just not my thing), silenced P90 and im good to go!

1.1 - I really want these maps...

but didn't Infinity Ward say that they already had modes and maps ready to go when COD4 was in development? I was of the understanding that the unpopular stages and modes would be replaced with new ones. Point being, what's with the delay if these were already in place way back when the game dropped?

Either way, I can't wait. I play COD4 on a regular basis so some new stages will be welcome.

Man, what i really will hate is that you buy the maps and then you don't used. I mean, we all know that choosing maps on COD4 is complete random, you u may never get the maps you bought. ^^ J/k,

Ya thats the one thing I hate about COD 4. It would be nice to be able to choose our own maps in MP and to choose our own weapons in SP.

5 - JUST A QUESTION, BUT

If this is something that you have to pay for, will everybody still be able to play everybody or just the ones that downloaded the new maps. I remember playing the first GRAW and then the new expantion maps came out for something like 15$. I was unable to play with half of the people I used to because they got the new content and I had not at that time. I had to Get the new stuff as well which I ended up doing but I thought it stunk that you had to buy it.

Well, it seems the general masses of COD4 fans marched over here en-mass to check out the new map story, only to kill the server! Great!

As a result, the hosts aren't happy and have thus killed the site

Never fear though, Andy and Shady are on the case and gonna kill the hosts when they catch up to them

We'll keep you updated - alternatively we'll see you online for a spot of COD4 :)

I call fake. There has been no release from IW about this leak, the 2nd map looks completely unfinished and they are all from the single player campaign so they can easily be faked.

I'm pretty sure the first bout of DLC will be completely new areas.

Why do I get the feeling you have been owned time and time again by Martyrdom? Generally speaking, the users who have been complaining about it are the ones who frequently get killed by it.

As LilGurgi stated, don't run over to the dead corpse you just killed. Like most players do.

Sounds like you get pwned alot.

The perk system in CoD4 has got the be the most balance system I've seen in a very very long time. It's exceptional.

For every Martyr there is eavsdropper, for every juggarnut theres a or a last stand or gun combo they'll moe them down regardless. Seems like you need to up your skill level dude... just saying.

It would be a little rude if they expect you to pay for a rehashed map from the single player mode.
I can understand charging for a new map, but if its just maps from the single player game, I would feel a little cheated.....I'd still play it, but still feel cheated.

I would love to have a bunch of areas from the single player turned into multiplayer maps. I would also like to see the 2nd map-pack be all new maps, with maybe a couple quick single player missions added along with them.

4 - I wonder how they'd make this work?

I mean, you dont really have a choice in what mapps you play at any given time so if some people don't buy these maps and they're the next map inline on the lobby then what happens?

Do the people who don't have the maps just get kicked and they go search for a new lobby? or will the lobby system know how has the new maps and who doesn't and thus direct you where appropriate.

'Course this would be a none factor if the maps were free. Seeing as CoD4 has been a heck of alot of $ it'd be nice if they were but this is business so...
