NBA Live 07 to be PS3 launch title

The last few years the game has been made poorly. I hope this year they get it right. Especially on these next gen consoles. The 360 last year didn't quite have all the bells and whistles it should of had. So maybe this year things will be different.

if you guys have not seen or read anything on 2k's NBA game for 2007. it looks to destroy EA's version.
they have full motion cap. for every NBA star with each individual characteristics, like steve nash licking his fingers before pushing his hair back behind his ears before steps to the free throw line.
and for the 360 it will actually fully support league play, unlike EA's last installment.

It isn't a launch until you walk into your local gaming store to buy your brand spankin' new system and get to choose from 3 or 4 EA launch titles. It's become a gaming tradition.

2K hasnt been good since Dreamcast. After that is was BS. The only thing that I didnt like about 06 is the camera angles and lack of features. Plus why does everybody think 2K look better when you zoom in maybe but from in game live looks 10x better nobody plays the game for replays and says ohhh look at that replay. Plus it looks just as good as madden and I dare anybody to argue that madden is not the best looking sports game of all time.

I thought the PS3 was severly underpowered and developers are having serious trouble with it. Since that's the case the 360 version should blow PS3's out the water.

If you could only point that out to every xbox fanboy out there. But they still like to compare games between the finalized 360 and Dev kits for the PS3. Amazing. If you look back months before the 360 launch the same crap was said about that system. But it's the 360 and it has been out since November so it's ok now.

With one notable exception - Fight Night Round 3.

Next-gen games from EA have been a steady stream of titles with pared down "features" so that they can sell us the same crap for the next 5 years and put "new features" in every year's game.

Madden was pretty for sure on the 360, but I played my copy on PS2 more frequently.

NBA Live was awful, Tiger Woods was a port from the current gen with nicer backgorunds and fewer courses, NHL (did they even release an NHL game from EA???)

Bottom line, PS3's version of Madden 2007 (even in an under-developed 30-40% completion state) looked EXACTLY like the XB360 version at E3, only slightly more rough around the edges....what does that mean exactly?

It means this - the popular franchises of sports titles from EA are always developed on one system and ported to the others. This generation, until very recently, all their games were developed on PS2 and ported to the XB. Guess what? The "next-gen" games are going to follow the same pattern sure as I sit here breathing and typing....they will be developed for the 360 and ported to the PS3 and any perceived (real or imagined) advantages of the PS3 over the 360 will be marginalized.

It won't just be sports titles either - EA is the single largest publisher in the games industry. Look for MOH games to look about the same 5 years from now on each console - or close enoguh to the same that very few people will care.

In summation - PS3 and XB360 in "next-gen" gaming for EA titles WILL BE INDISTINGUISHABLE....and EA will continue to rape gamers with sub-par releases of barely upgraded version of Madden 2006 for the next 5 years...

You know its a funny thing, we all used to love the madden franchise so much but yet, each year its essentially the same game. Now when Espn 2k4 and Espn 2k5 came out those games were far better than madden (in my opinion) and it was like fresh air to a style genre, it was very interactive and addictive. The wrap tackles and sound effects were better than maddens. EA went and bought the rights to use the nfl license. And will continue to give tiny upgrades each year. And with the new generation systems they seem to have gone backwards. But hopefully they'll give us something worth while soon,as far as nba games, im still playing espn 2k4 and nba street 2 on my ps2, as well as espn nfl 2k4 and 5.

Ncaa 07 looks amazing and has awesome new features like stadium's sized seat by seat because they were all measured, how the sun sets at certain times of the game because they went to all the games and watched it, and where cheering sections, student sections, visitor sections all are, and all fans chant accordingly, like in florida they all do the chop while the visitors get pissy and you can see them pouting
