Call of Duty 4 Downloadable Content Confirmed

Activision and Infinity Ward confirm that new downloadable multiplayer maps are on the way this spring. In development for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the upcoming downloadable content will thrust gamers into new combat zones across a variety of intense multiplayer locales.

And I'll pay to have the Bog removed from my game. God I hate that stage. Not the layout so much as the fact that the lag on that stage is crazy.

Fair enough, no game can entertain everyone, especially if they play it too much. I agree it doesn't really offer anything that new, besides ranking up and completing challenges to unlock weapons, etc. but everything it does, it does much better than the competition. There's a guy in my friends list who has played the game for a total of five weeks, and he still says he loves it.

2.4 - Nothing new?
I so hate that complaint. If a game does everything it does well, then what new do we need from it? And it actually does offer something new: Prestige.

Tell me a game that offered this before? The option of losing all your weapons and challange completion for a symbol by your name? And as lame as you may think that is, it really does expand the game. I've taken prestige twice already and I must say that going through and leveling up a third time is just as fun as it was the first time.

COD4 is pure awesomeness. If you wanna flame the game for doing nothing new then please tell me what would have pleased you. What "new" thing could they have done?

ITs an FPS you can't really add anything new to it other then modes. Especially when its suppose to be realistic. You can't have a gigantic beam cannon in COD4., Possible in Halo though or UT3.

There are games that are ground breaking and try new things, and then there are games that take what we know and make them great.
Games like COD4 is the latter.
I don't really care some much if a game has a new party trick or not...if I enjoy it, then I'll play it.
If your saying that you've played it too much, then it sounds like you were getting your moneys worth. So if new maps come out, can you really tell me that your not going to give them a try?

Plus the whole modern warfare thing was pretty new wasn't it?

COD 4 online is pretty addicting, but I do admit that it is kind of become a little stale (I break up my COD 4 online sessions with Rainbow Six Vegas though).

If anyone here wants to see what a true soldier plays like, look for me on COD4 on PS3; I'm NegativeCreep 427. Trust me, you do not want to be in my crosshairs. To survive try to become one of my battle buddies.

I don't know...weapons could really start to feck with the balance...everything is pretty decent right now...its just a little lame that the M16 is more or less the best gun in the game for a lot of situations, and you don't unlock it...I guess which is good or bad depending on if you are heavily into that prestige stuff...

8 - COD4 is an addictive game.
My only gripe is that most (aussie) servers don't range their play styles. I'd like to give "Old School" a try.
(Oh yes, and cheating is rampant places like FPSCHEATS,com should be put out of business, but I digress)

Oh yes, the content is for BOTH360 and PS3. (yay....<yawn>)
That almost makes me assume my PC copy I've been playing since release only exists in my wildest fantasies.

I know there are some fan produced maps out there for PC users and competitions also coming up (I wonder where this is the new material is coming from), but would IW be so kind as to package this up for PC gamers as well? OMG that isn't too much to ask for right?

Yeah the new maps will also be on PC, if IW don't do it then we'll be seeing a community made port (which should be easy enough considering how similar the xbox version is)...or perhaps we already have them- maybe IW are just planning to shift a couple of maps from the last few patches to console.

Im so sick and tired of these sniper hating tiny, confining maps. Real wars are not faught in yards. They're faught on large scales with tons of areas. Please stop making maps for kids with ADD. I do not need to see an enemy in front of me every 3 seconds. Please make them bigger the way Treyarch did. Now, if they can fix the lobby as well we will have a winner. Why are we forced to play maps we hate for 10 minutes???????? What happened to the good old days of the 60 minute war???? Please create a real lobby system. One where if you are hosting you can create the rules publicly. Like 30 mins, friendly fire on, pipeline, 11/12. Is that too hard?? We would like to pick where we play.

well I totally disagree...while I am sure Sniping is pretty rewarding when you fire the gun...I much prefer a close quarters crazy fire fight than getting picked off from across the map...if you come out on top by taking out 3 guys while close to death...you deserve much more respect than hiding in the bushes with a barrett...at least in the gaming world...

at least in terms of ffa's...I guess I have occasionally had a sniper on my team in a TDM where they actually helped the cause...but snipers in ffa games are simply lame...yet it happens all the time...
