I downloaded the demo from the Japanese store and it works. I played about 15-20 matches within the past 2 days. It usually works for me when I hit the select button to refresh the lobby screen and then you join rooms that are 1/8. And I also hosted about 3 games. Within 2-3 minutes you get 8 people who joined and you just hit start to begin the game.

Yeah, I tried for about a half hour before deleting it. "Connection failed" or "Room is full" every time. Got into one game eventually, but it never started up (idle host?). Creating my own game never worked either, no one joined. Call me crazy, but I think that a major prerequisite for releasing a demo would be to make sure it's playable.

Catchy lobby song though...

The only thing that this game is good for is that it has heart pumping action in multi player all people, wemen, children and folks around the world play. It reaches many demgraphics. Its hiden tactical gameplay and team work forcing action was and is still almost unmatched. Sure more adult hardcore gamers like COD4 etc but this game is clasic and is the oldest game I own, I'll never get rid of it.

I do agree the Japanese will love it they're the only people really still playing it non casually.

What? that Capcom put out a buggy Demo!!! This problem has nothing to do with the PSN what so ever it's all in the Demo!!!

It's amazing how so many people want to blame everything on the PS3 and it's network, when in reality it has little to do with it at all.

I tried connecting last night, but it never connected.
I wasn't surprised cuz I knew who the developer was, so I jumped right back into COD4.

The multiplayer demo for Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is temporarily being removed from the PlayStation Network in order to address issues that have come to light. We will be working overtime to correct the issue and expect to upload a new version to the PlayStation Network as soon as possible that accurately reflects the incredible online features of the game. For those of you who have already downloaded the demo, the servers are being taken down until the new version is ready to go. Capcom needs to do some more debugging, and playtesting. 100,000 people trying to log on at once will crash a lot of servers, they probably just didn't figure on the demand.

What you dont realize is that because of the design of the 360 the system itself acts as the server, the game companies dont set up servers. This is different with the ps3, the developer is given the freedom to set up their own servers or use p2p setups for their servers. Now regardles of these facts the PSN has nothing to do with this game if you can still be logged on to psn and the game fails to function then its clearly the devs server that is the problem. Besides they even admitted it was their own fault.

Your comment generalized sony fans and put a stereotype on us and thats not cool, Microsoft new damn well that with more consoles comes greater demand and all servers are set up with expansion in mind. Microsoft had no excuse for the crash of live and you know it. Its time people stop giving microsoft a free pass on their f*ck ups. Ohh and the reason we call XBL live out is because I dont know how many times I hear 360 fans saying "yea so we pay but you get what you pay for, XBL owns psn hands down" but as soon as the service crashes or something happens they're quick on the trigger making excuses for microsoft and trying to wipe the egg of their face. Its ironic that ms make so much revenue off of their subscriptions to xbl but they cant create enough bandwith to handle heavy loads and knowing that christmas is the busy season for video games. It just shows you how little they actually care until their attitude bites them in the ass..

As far as the new wave of customers over the Christmas season, maybe they thought they had enough bandwidth. I'm sure they added some before the holidays. Not everything that goes wrong is their fault.

Why doesn't anyone hold Sony accountable for blatantly lying to its customers..."Toy Story-like graphics", etc., etc.
