Not sure why some country charge more for some games... Here in Canada, I never, ever, saw one game on the PS3 that was more expensive than the 360 version. Very strange.

Maybe buying online would be the solution. If the stores who are charging more do not sell games anymore, they will come back to regular prices...

Typical, it was explained in an earlier post here on N4G that the developer is not charging more for the game, but it is the retailer that is deciding to do this. Nothing to do with development time, BD disk usage, or solar winds, the retailer is charging more because they want too and can.

these guys changed their story a bit. In the first article they posted that there was no difference after the install and now because a capcom rep came on the table and said their is a difference you see CVG saying there isn't, but there is. "But only by a couple seconds of course".

If they couldn't say that in the beginning why should we all of a sudden listen to them now?

As a PC gamer, I don't see what is wrong with an install time. It's probably just a minor problem that the competition is blowing out of proportion just to be able to have an advantage. Every game I play has an initial install time, no problem. When I installed World of Warcraft last november it took 2 hours to install, so what?

First of all, not all games require an install and some games have it as optional. Uncharted is a great example of a game that doesn't need an HDD install and yet has no loading screens. Epic.

Second, you can just uninstall the game after you're done playing with it. Seriously why keep 6-7 games (pretty rare to have that many in the first place, unless you intentionally go out and buy games that require an hdd install) AND not all games are 5gb as you say ... Warhawk for example was only 900mb?

Last, you have infinite options to fix it - upgrade your hdd, my PS3 is currently a 250gb (originally 60gb model) - I got the HDD for about 90$ (sale).

FYI, I have 14 games (not including PSN games) and only 3 of them require an install (totaling about 10gb) - and 1 game has an optional install (UT3).

Agree. The fact is, the developer and the publisher both screwed up.
Plus, why this game is more expensive than others? its not like its better or anything. The graphics are inferior to other true next gen games, and don't tell me graphics are not that important. Because if so, why bother and buy a 360 or a ps3 then.

It appears that you are actually getting more time then that. Yes the difference between the 360 and PS3 is only that small amount of time with the load to the HDD. But if you did NOT load to the HDD then the load times on the PS3 are MUCH worse then the XBox 360. (or am I reading this wrong?)It said something like 2 to 3 times the load times without the 21 minute download to the HDD. Because the reading speed of the Bluray? I didn't know that was actually a factor with the Buray disks? Anyone know the actual truth on this subject?

For the record I do like the way Bethesda made it seemless with Oblivion. But didn't Oblivion work on the core system? So why did it need to load to the HDD? Or was that for only the PS3 also?

So, it`s because DMC4 went multiplatform, that game now has INSTALL and Downloading times on PS3.
Otherwise, it would be like Uncharted, NO install and NO downloadings. =)
So you can blame ONLY greedy Capcom, blu-ray has NOTHING to do with THIS. =]

id like to see some of the backstory cause i skipped out on DMC 2 and didnt finish the 3rd. so i think its cool what capcom did w/the backstory. wish they would put that on the 360 version, or the Collecters ed. at least. about your 360 comment; its only one game man! but i know what you mean; They said it wouldnt be needed for games and that turned out to be a lie (one game so far). MS had the hard drive standardized last gen and didnt ever use it! and no 360 games this gen have used it either; so i like the install option Ps3 games offer, shows its getting good use

uncharted one of the best looking games (arguably the best) doesnt load and dosent install. I dnt mind installation but when its for something stupid like this then jst makes no sense. If they had jst utilized the blu ray like they were supposed too they wouldnt need nonsense installs. If i have to install 1hr to erase all load times i would but when the load time difference is about 2 secs then wats the point. Agreed ps3 blu ray drive isnt as fast as 360 but when games like uncharted can accomplish 0 loading i dnt see why i should have to spend 20mins to install nonsense on my harddrive. regardless have no intentions to purchase this game. I might purchase lost planet if the port is even and not garbage

Uncharted?...Uncharted certainly does load...but only once...it puts some sort of cache file on the HDD the first time you start up the game (but every time you start, not like DMC4 where you do it once and that is it)...it takes like 3 minutes or so...but then there is zero loading until the game is either over, or you quit for whatever reason...

thats the engine's full streaming support...I agree that its awesome, but it definitely doesn't have zero loading at all...when I would be getting messages about CoD 4, and constantly quitting out of Uncharted to read them...it would get pretty annoying...

I do see I'm still in the head of many PS3 fangirls, which is nice. PS3 better console. Ah right. That's why 20 minute installing DMC4 brings you about the same loading times as the 360.

And that's why if you got a 40GB PS3 you get shafted after about 3 games that install a whopping 15GB of data on the PS3 and you run out of space to play more games so you have to get out and buy yourself another larger HDD to put in your PS3. Nice... PS3 more expensive then it already was. All that just because Sony wanted to push their BluRay which has slow loading times. Nice nice nice

so now it is up to a 40min install, hmmmmm, I guess that means that it loads 8 times faster than the 360 version right? I mean since you are doubling the install time, then we all get to double how much faster the PS3 loads than the 360 right? So while you are staring at that wonderful loading screen for 8 seconds, my loading screen will only take 1 second. That sounds like a winner to me!

Cool, well then, I will purchase the game for the PS3, while I wait for the "40min" install time that you state, I will come on here and occupy my time. Sounds like a plan to me. Thanks for talking me into the PS3 version...and I was about to get it for the 360 version since one of my other buddies is getting it for his, but now I can laugh at him and his 360 and his long load times while I breeze along on my PS3 with my 1sec load times.
