Did you even read the link? If not it says it looks like he didn't do much at all in the new Killzone game. I don't think this loss will hurt the game at all. Nobody is dependent on one artist in gaming.

The art design has all been done for this game, its mainly down to the programming now. he's found another opportunity to move forward in his career and good on him.
With a mix up of artists working with different companies, the games should come out looking a little different...ya never know, maybe he will make the Ubisoft games look better.

concept art is usually much better than the finished product.. it allows for imagination to take free reign while the final product has lots of constrictions

its a shame to see him go. that image posted above is pretty cool.

Agree. He is obviously talented, however there are definitely lots of talented artists out there.

He was good, but not great. The artwork itself is very nice, but I think his ideas are often a little stale to be honest. I mean, I can't help but think "Combine" when I see some of the Killzone concept art. The gameplay is going to be fantastic, and I'm sure they'll really bring this stuff to life in-game, but a little breath of fresh air might be a good thing.

Wtf? There was a killzone 2?

Edit: Nvm I'm stupid haha. Does this mean Killzone 2 is finish then? Since the article says "AFTER" his work on the three Killzone game. If it's true then Killzone is probably in the polishing phase. I guess we'll be seeing it sooner rather than later.

or after...the first two? but before the third?

besides, a concept artist is usually when a game is just beginning. do you really think they need a great concept artist if KZ2 is suppose to be finished this mid/late year?

10.2 - Oh dearie me....
By saying "after his work on...." it merely means he has worked on the games. Doesn't say very much about the games at all, except that some work has been put into them by this man.

Strange how people try to make it look like a bad thing. The title could have just said "Killzone artists resign's from Sony, and Joins Ubisoft"

The thing is, concept artists are plentiful in the video game industry though.

Concept artists main job is like story boards right so once the games in production there jobs pretty much done.

Could well be, that they have no need for a concept artist any more. I'd guess they are wrapping up the game now, and I can't imagine, they are going into the concept for the next in a while. But maybe not.

"Update:

He had a limited influence on the game (we think that could’ve one of the reason that he may have lefted his job)."

No big deal at all...

Btw, the way the picture is cropped is really disturbing

"So now I'm back in France since the 3rd of september 2007 to work as concept designer for Ubisoft."

The guy has been gone since September. I'm sure he was replaced a long time ago. I think he went to Ubi so he could be in France again, that's where he was born.

he left cause he didnt get to contribute to the game and its understanding but sony didnt lose anything, they have lots of artists and who not. its probably will be better for his carrier to move somewhere lower scale company so his art will be appreciated more.
So good luck to him!
