Hey your right it is time for them to come up and give us some info about Killzone 2, but I have the feeling they won't show much at GDC. It more likely they will show the full game and a ton of details we've been waiting for at E3.

They showed us stuff last year and have killed that footage. Don't get me wrong ... it's awesome stuff. I just want to see something, anything, even a small texture on a wall. lol I've been waiting so long for this game. I don't care if comes out later then thought. Just take your time ... make it look and play great and toss me a bone. Show me what I've been waiting for.

because Bioshock's predesessor was rated high? There's been plenty of games that have gotten better as the series moved. Others have gotten worse. I fail to see your point. you can see how the game controls by looking at the gameplay videos. Looks pretty solid to me so far with lots of fluid animation and idle/active situational movements. Game seems to respond quickly. Scroll speed seems relatively tight (about the same as CoD4). Of course we haven't seen more complex gameplay mechanics yet, but judging from early videos, I'm willing to give it a pass if it Guerilla doesn't show more at GDC. Of course, I would love to see more, but it's not 100% necessary IMO.

It takes an awful lot of effort to get a demo or even a demonstration ready build to show off at something like GDC and wouldn't find it so strange if Guerilla wanted to keep everybody working on the game so they can hit their deadlines and ship whenever it is they are intending to.

while the PR surrounding KZ2 has been an utter nightmare..I don't think the lack of stuff being shown is any sign of the condition of the game...

what they need to stop is falling back into old ditches...don't release pictures, then admit to them being touched up...don't touch them up in the first place...or don't release them...where anyone thought tactics like that would get positive press is beyond me...

stop showing or saying anything to do with targets...just show the game...or don't...the hype will be so immense leading up to release it won't really matter...they didn't show a ton of Halo 3 before release...in fact wasn't the first official gameplay footage released just a month or so before the beta?...and the hype for that was second to none, although for the most part...the hype was far greater than the final experience...

they have shown enough to know that it will be something special...at least on a technical level...but they haven't made any promises except for how it compares to the target stuff...just start releasing little confirmed bits about gameplay, bosses, multiplayer aspects, etc. here and there...and then no one will be left underwhelmed...

but again...they release another batch of pictures with "touch ups" to show what they are trying to have for release...and that is all that will ever loom around the game...but GDC should have some good stuff about it...SCE knows they have 2 of their own games competing one another...with no outside games even close in comparison so far...and being that we already have more confirmed information about Res 2 than KZ2, they will start showing enough of both to shut us up pretty soon i would imagine...

I'm sure that the visuals are going to be impressive as hell!!! Probably the best looking on a console when it comes out... However, I am concerned about the gameplay elements. I have no idea where Surfer Girl gets her info, but 1UP made similar claims that the gameplay so far is mediocre and that the quality of the game may be lacking if it releases this year. That is VERY troubling to hear... but I'm still willing to give it a chance.

to be honest i'd level the same criticism at the original. It did look good (especially for a ps2 game), but it just didnt cut it gameplay-wise.

I have no basis to suggest the same will apply to the sequel, but i think any hopes for this game need to be tempered with a touch of realism - guerilla have made 2 games in the series so far, and liberation wasnt even an fps - we can only hope they learnt from their mistakes in the first title, and havent repeated them.

the main thing with Motorstorm lacking was with shipped content...while its since become a very robust game, it also is roughly $85 if you bought all that extra stuff at its respective releases...

but as far as the target render...I think they got really close overall...the target render was far crazier than anything in KZ2's now infamous mess...but it was mostly with camera angles...that shaky cam stuff made the game look so unbelievably intense compared to the standard racer angles of the actual game...it made it not look as crazy overall...but the layer manipulation in Motorstorm is still the best around...the 8 cars exploding into little pieces as you drive through the wreckage...the flopping muddy roosters are all intact (albeit with not even a hint of the 1/2 mile long dust tails in the target render)...and all the little track details; definitely allow it to hold its own...

I think if motorstorm actually had a GT like replay system...with all the goofy camera work available...it would make the game look much closer to the actual target render than a lot of people think...

and just like any other i've heard what gamespot, IGN and Gameinformer have said and what they said greatly convinced me that the game has made very big improvements over the PS2, alot of the things were address, game informer writes that the Ai was Smart and intellengent and very agressive, especially if you slip up as they were quick to flank and exploit your position if you were unable to surpress them with fire, as amatter of fact they said that if you ran out of ammo it was a done deal. and that was the september issue of game informer last year which would mean they played the build that was just after E3 last year. IGN has even gone on to say that the enemies moved and reacted to fire realisticly, moving for cover and flanking when the opportunity was deemed relevant without consequences

after all we all know how much 1up is in love with MS and thats cool but i think there is some bias, especially when you factor in how much the first game fair in reviews, great on paper and hype but a farcry from it. it was a good game but lacked because of PS2's limitations.

all the american studios in the sony family are helping both first and second party because they all know the importance of the game is to sony. Insomniac and ND, sucker punch, Slant six, incog and Zipper are all in some way or form backing ths huge tit;le, for Sony to pour more money just states that they are paying to ensure that the best in Sony's arsenal of devs are giving this game the best. with taht i rest completely sure that this title when ever it comes out will be amazing

and if anything i think this game will get it's grand unveiling at gamers day 08 and at E3, if it does show up at GDC it will prolly be a new Trailer and thats it. and probably a lecture on the engine. i think R2 and LBP and perhaps 8 days will be the game that shows out this GDC and Home as well.

I think they will show a new trailer at GDC. I don't think they have a stage Demo like when the first showed Killzone 2. But I think they will show how much the game have improve over the past 7 months for so. Maybe they might even announce a release date, and some information about the online play.

We all know that Killzone could never live up to expectations, but if expectations are lower then this game might have a chance. Conspiracy theories aside. Originally it was developed just for the PC, but the developer talked about bringing it to consoles. It's been confirmed that they are working on a version for the 360, but it hasn't been confirmed that they are working on it for PS3 - so far it doesn't look like they are. Some people say "exclusive" refers only to console exclusivity - i.e. "Bioshock is a 360 exclusive" - I don't know that that makes a whole lot of sense, but there you go.
