Rumor: Battlefield: Bad Company Delayed

Lazygamer.co.za reports: "Well this is quite sad, I just got off the phone with someone from EA Games South Africa.

It seems that Battlefield: BC has been delayed from March until June 2008 worldwide. This is apparently due to some extra polishing that the title still requires.

That or the fact that they don't want to land in direct retail competition with MGS4, GTAIV and Rainbow 6 Vegas 2….

Yeah March is still an exciting month but I was really looking forward to Battlefield: Bad Company."

Those games has NO!! competition with Battlefield. i think i speck for most when i say battlefield is the BEST war game ever online. i got BF2MC (PS2) when it first come out, haven't played any other game since. tryed suncom but dont come close to it. BF3BC is going to be the biggest hit.

I for one know this game is not coming out anytime soon. They have army of Two coming out for consoles. They have something in development for consoles are well via Crytek. And then there is this, they are still trying to decide on how the gameplay will be.

Also on the latest 1UP yours podcast, they pretty much confirmed that, this game might not see the light of day in 08.

they need more time to optimize the frostbite engine anyway. so far, the videos they show have horrible frame rates. if they can somehow lock it at 30fps, then they got a winner.

You just showed what a #$#$ idiot you are. SDFm3rc name one game that is going to beat Battlefield Bad Company. People before you disagree do some research. Games out right now with good multiplayer - COD4, Warhawk, UT3, Halo 3, and Resistance. Battlefield BC wins guys in every category. Graphics (%90 destructible environment) than Halo 3.

Has COD4 ranking systems with upgrades and character building.
Has a lot more vehicles than Warhawk, and more realistic.
Has a lot more game modes than UT3 to chose from.

This was going to be killer, dam it. And as far as Vegas 2 with its ps2 looking graphic and piss poor game play, er.. no thanks, compare vegas multi player to cod4 and its laughable. What a sad day. :(

This good if rainbow 6 vegas 2 comes out in march - those 2 games have the potential to cannibalize each other sales if released too close to each other, plus more time to polish things up doesn't hurt neither.

BTW you can't usually be sure about release date until game goes gold so just sit back and wait patiently until it goes gold before getting all excited about a release date :)

18 - Look on the bright side....

At least shooters like "Haze" is coming out in March 08. Haze too could also be the next big thing in gaming. If they release Battlefield: Bad Company, around the same time as Haze, then Haze will blow that game out of the water!! Don't forget that some of the developers from Rare(the company who made Goldeneye and Perfect Dark)are now in Free Radical. Now big games like Killzone 2, and Resistance 2 will be coming out 9/08 to drop a Nuke on these games later.
