Haze Delayed?

Free Radical(GoldenEye/Timesplitters)'s highly anticipated next gen FPS, Haze, appears to have been delayed. Originally due out in November 07, the game was pushed back until January 08. Now, it looks like it has delayed further by 3 months. Several online retailers have confirmed this, such as Amazon.com and BestBuy.com, indicating a released towards the later half of March.

Although it sucks that it got delayed, I think its a pretty good break from two great FPS that came out one after another (COD4 and UT3). I'm not a FPS addict so a nice diversity of games are always welcome. DMC4, Burnout, and of course mods for UT3 will be a nice filler. Also, as much as I want to, I don't think KZ2 will make its Feb 08 release date. Just my gut feeling :)

Rythrine...KZ2 has been more or less confirmed to be a fall'ish 2008 release...the confirmation of a public beta during early summer makes the fall release assumption pretty accurate...

in either case...I will be opening UT3 monday...and if you are online...you will pay ;)

Lolz. That's cool, man. I'll see you online once you unwrapped it. I don't have a mouse and keyboard yet. I was still looking for that FragFX by Splitfish though. Can't find one anywhere. I was gonna buy a keyboard but sixaxis controls fine. The game is a real pick up and play. It was faster than conventional FPS but after a couple of minutes, you'll be fine. IMO, the speed was perfect. After playing UT3 for a couple of hours, COD4 seems slow-mo. I still love COD4 and it is still a deeper shooter though.

Free Radical, Ubisoft, and SCE have all confirmed the game as a PS3 exclusive...it wasn't always that way, but since they finally said it...they have not once gone back on it...

Same here. Burnout and Haze on my Jan. planing. Well, just Burnout, then. I'm covered with shooters anyhow. UT3 fill the "bot" gap (besides Graw2), but Haze (does it have bots?) has pretty much everything what all those games have together, splitscreen multiplayer (great in warhawk), incl. story mode (like UT3 - but a real story), and good online. It fills a gap, IMO. Well, March seems late, hopefully a bit earlier. KZ2 won't make it until March anyhow (or maybe I have lost sight of that somehow).

You have to keep in mind that MSG4 was annonced a long time ago but it was delayed so many time, for such a long time, that most of its fan died of aging.

they lost any credibility they might have had w/ that comment... Anyway, it's not uncommon for online retailers to change dates. It happens all the time w/ games. I won't jump the gun just yet on this one. Either way, even in March it certainly won't be competing w/ Killzone 2 which most certainly isn't due out towards the end of February 08...

Weak. I was looking forward to this one. Haven't played through a good single player campaign in an FPS since Resistance. Hopefully they use the extra time to make the game better. I know from a gameplay perspective it's going to be awesome because it's Free Radical, but it would be nice to see some better graphics.

On play.com (UK Retailer) it has the date as 18th January and has a countdown meter. On amazon.com (not .co.uk) it says March 18th.

Maybe its different in US and UK.

Hmmm. That's a possibility, but when does Europe ever get a game before the rest of the world? I mean nothing against Europe, but it seems like they generally get shafted when it comes to release dates. If anything I would think the game would drop in NA first.

Bet every website out there has a different date. Just like Ubi.com still has it listed as November 2007...

the fact of the matter is that Ubi stated the game will release in the 4th Fiscal Quarter meaning at the very latest Haze will ship in late March. I don't even know if January has been an official date, but it seems to me that delaying the game until March would only hurt Rainbow Six Vegas 2 sales so if there is in fact another delay we may see a few games release dates changed for strategy purposes. Yes, strategy quite often plays a role in when a game is actually released or not...

The delay sucks but some big name games have been released recently with a $hitload of bugs and glitches. If this game needs work, the delay is the right choice. Rather they get it right then release a glitch filled game.

Sony just wants the other systems to die a slow death, which is why games come out when they are ready and not rushed to the market just to beat the competition. On IGN it still shows the game as being released on January 15/08. If they release this game at the end of march or begining of april, i don't think it will do too well considering you have BattleFeild, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Tom Clancy's End War, Metal Gear Solid 4 and possibly Socom Confrontation and GTA 4 all being released around that time of the year. January is perfect in my books. I'm looking forward to this game, but if it comes out in the spring i might not pick it up.

I know ps3 fans don't care since they have been trained but how long pubs are gonna keep giving cash to the devs, and if the game bombs, thats a lot of wasted time..

Delays will continue to be ok, as long as its a sony product. Of course when the 360 gets a delay its big news. What may help the fans sometiems might back fire on the publishers. Especially when you put your game to go against another anticipated game, someone is gonna flunk in sales.
