PALGN Review Lair: Should have been much better

Factor 5 managed to earn quite a reputation for themselves as one of the most proficient console developers through the PS1/N64 and PS2/Xbox/GameCube generations. Both Rogue Squadron II and III for the GameCube are still considered some of the best technical achievements on consoles.

As Nintendo opted out of the power race, the Factor 5 ambitions of developing for the most powerful console shifted to the next contender for the title, the PlayStation 3.

Their latest title, the medieval-inspired, dragon-filled Lair has copped a real pasting from the media. Having played through it, PALGN can say that it probably has come in for some harsh treatment, but at the same time, doesn't really straddle the line between convention and ambition as well as you would have hoped.
