DivX, Inc. today announced that DivX video technology will be integrated into PLAYSTATION 3. The popular computer entertainment system will be added to the ecosystem of devices that currently support DivX video playback.
"Our technology will expand the multimedia functionality of PS3 by enabling users to enjoy access to the broad library of content in the DivX digital media format."
Current PS3 end users will be able to add DivX functionality to their systems via a separate system software update at a forthcoming date.
Over the last 25 years, there has been a fair few South Park games, and here GameSpew has ranked them all from best to worst.
We are going to see a lot of crap South Park products since they sold out to paramount years ago. It's their IP they can sell out, of course; it just means the quality of their show has tanked and other products as well. Nevertheless, they put on excellent musicals, but those haven't been sold to a mega corporation.

Well lets see how long it takes for them to release the software or end the testing phase. I heard the 360 is releasing it in the fall/winter update so i expect them to get it ready soon although by the previous rumors it might be releases along with home.
This is great news.
As far as I know a lot of videos now use Xvid, which requires separate codecs to DivX, I wonder what the chances of that being included too? As Xvid is free hopefully it will follow soon after.
Edit: I've been told Xvid will work.
