Rumor: Bioshock makers working on PS3 title?

According to a jobseeker message 2K Boston is looking for an experienced Senior Console Programmer. In the bottom of the message it says "Experience with PS3 development is highly desirable". Now could this mean they are working on a title for the PS3? You be the judge of that. Follow the link to read the message.

Did you completely miss the interview a few months ago when 2K company president said BioShock is not coming to PS3 because Microsoft has signed an exclusive contract for it?

Edit: And being a 360 owner I really hope its not Bioshock. It was a kool game... I beat in in about 3 days and I took it back. I hope it's a brand new IP with a whole new story... who knows some awesome multiplayer... please Boston 2k anything but Bioshock... give something new the the PS3!!

microsoft doesn't own the rights for bioschock. This is not suprising to me bcoz EA now own the Bioshock developers so I expect bioshock to go multiplatform. Unless Microsoft pays a hefty amount of large amount of money to EA to keep it on only one console. I predict this is going to be for bioshock 2 if they decide to make a game for ps3.

(1) EA does not own the developers of Bioshock. You are getting Bioshock (the game) confused with Bioware (a developer that has nothing to do with Bioshock). Bioshock is developed by 2K Boston, a subsidiary of 2K Games.

(2) Bioshock is not being ported to the PS3. The developers and the publisher have repeated that many many times.

As much as I wish they were making a port for the PS3 (and perhaps w/ some extras (; ) I still highly doudt it anymore, But a new IP sounds great. The only thing is that if a new IP was the case then don't expect it to come out next year. Probably late 2009 or mid 2010 if they take their time w/ the game.

Well it could be multi platform game, and they need someone to work on PS3 version. It doesnt necessarily mean it is PS3 exclusive. Time will tell

It's won't be for PS3. MS threw their wallet at the developers and told them to take out what they think he game is worth. ROFL.

To #17: You nailed it. This will be a multiplatform title. 2K Boston have demonstrated experience on the Xbox 360. As we all know, the PS3 is much more difficult to program for because of its horrid design. It takes about twice the programming time to get a PS3 version of a game that will look almost as good as the Xbox 360 version.

I don't know if this is what you guys ay be thinking but this doesn't mean whatever they're making is a PS3 exclusive. It's quite probable that they just need an experienced programmer to work on the PS3 version of whatever this game is, due the the PS3s difficulties with the U3 engine...

I think that's clearly what is happening. There are very few third party developers out there willing to invest at this time in a PS3 exclusive. There are certainly some decent third party exclusives coming to the PS3, but those were started before it became apparent that sale of the PS3 would be so disappointing. I think there was an article a few weeks back about how Sony is having to beg developers just to publish mutliplatform now. No way they are going to be starting a PS3 exclusive now, given what we all know.

After seeing games like Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, and so on it would make sense to make a game for the PS3.
If these guys work on the PS3 it'll destroy Bioshock in graphics and in physics of game play.

Man its an amazing game...the atmosphere is great but i have a few questions for anybody thats played it...when you find a recording are you suppose to keeping going when its playing or stop and listen because i realize that i have no clue what is really going on...i know the place is jacked up and i'm killing people for some nerd while looking for his family....any back on topic they seem to be a great developer and anything coming from them is welcome hopefully they take full advantage of the hardware.

P.S. I harvest all them lil demon babies ;p

Oh i forgot...the fact that there is really no penelty for dying kinda sucks takes alot of the strategy out of it because if and when you die you was come back and do it all again...they should slowly regenerate health or something if you die...other wise great shooter.
