SCEE confirms slew of PS3 release dates

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has confirmed a selection of release dates for a number of forthcoming PlayStation 3 titles, including the likes of the highly anticipated Lair and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

First up for release, as confirmed last week, is The Eye of Judgment this Friday (October 26), followed by Factor 5's Lair and Insomniac's Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction on November 9.

Finally, December sees Naughty Dog's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune arriving on December 9, with the elusive SingStar PS3 pencilled for release for some time that month, though an exact date has yet to be revealed.

Actually Crazy, looking at that list of releases 'nobody' seems to matter to Sony this xmas, there's very little there to warrant me turning off my 360 in favour of my PS3. Maybe xmas 2008 will be different ...

It is just showing the games coming from Sony themselves. As well as those we also have the R&C, Assassins Creed, COD 4 (maybe, if the single player is proven to last more then 4 hours).

For me, R&C, Uncharted, and Assassins Creed are definites. Then COD4, Mass Effect (on 360 of course), Simpsons, and Orange Box are maybes.

Executive-I get my info from VG CHARTZ. And as of today, there are a TOTAL of 3 games in the top 50 that are PS3 titles. For the week, the 360 sold 747,000 titles to 172,000 for the PS3.

That is not attach rate, that is just sales.

I only stated that for whatever reason, they just don't seem to sell that much compared to other platforms right now.

Will that change in the future? I hope so, for Sony's sake. They have a well built machine with tons of potential. But, I also don't go by the belief that the 360 will have NO games for 2008 either.

I have always wondered about the attachment rate figures bounded about and people on here do seem to comment that PS3 owners don't buy games. Using your figues of 745,000 ish for 360 games and 170,000 ish PS3 games then that implies that its about 4.3:1 or something. Using Vgcharts as our base they reckon there are 2 million PS3's and 8 million 360's sold in the US, which is about 3.7:1, about .6 of a difference.

This is obviously including the tailend of the Halo 3 sales spike, so I reckon that on the whole PS3 owners are buying roughly the same amount of games than 360 owners, and would further propose that the 360 sales are inflated due to the Halo 3 release exaggerating the difference.

Add to that of course, the fact that PS3 owners are also buying Blu Ray movies, it is clear to me that PS3 owners are buying more content thereby supporting their console more than 360 owners. It would not surprise me to find the attachment rate for the 360 has been diluted by the recent Halo 3 release, whereby many people have been waiting to buy the console for just this one game, and, due to the popularity of the multiplayer, may not buy another game for quite some time.

Predator, if i were you i'd wait until next November to buy one. I bought mine on launch day and aside from Motorstorm there's been nothing on the PS3 to keep me from turning on my 360 instead.

The best thing you can do is buy a 360 this xmas and enjoy all the AAA games around on that at the moment, then trade it in for a PS3 next xmas when there should be a much better lineup for it.

dude ive got a 360, love the thing, amazing games, still loads to get and to come, but ive always been a multi guy, owning most consoles apart from the first xbox, and a few of these ps3 titles are catching my attention, dont get me wrong i want the 360 to so well and all multi games ill get for that for achievments and at the mo they are better but some of the ps3 exclusives are really good, plus its got blu ray so im just deciding now or later thats all

Yo predator! Very sensible buying a PS3 to compliment your 360, as a second console it works well. I'm just getting fed up with all the Sony fanboys hyping up games on these forums that really aren't that great. It's been a disappointing first year for the PS3 but i'm sure next year will be lots better. I'm a multi platform geek too, and in fairness to the PS3 i've had little to buy for my Wii either this year, SMG will make up for that though.

Xbox 360 needs to have a better line up for next year if their going to compete against the PS3 w/ KZ2, MGS4, etc.
I'm a Sony Droid I admit it.
I want to see some competition is all.

Personally I like the PS3 more because it has more options other than playing games all the time.
Every console has it's good and bad sides.
The way I see it if every console was flawless there would be nothing to look forward to when it comes to games and accessories.

PS3 gaining 6 back to back AAA titles while 360 is only pumping out one. Mass Effect probably wont be AAA.

thats one thing I did notice, halo had a metacritic of 9.something, and the user score was a 7.9. For Gears and Bioshock, the user scores were almost identical to the metacritic score, interesting.

I'm sure it will be a great game, theres just nothing there which has really hooked me into it. Hopefully a few good reviews will help me to part with my cash for it, but currently theres nothing which stands out enough to warrent a purchase in my opinion.

Maybe you've never heard of Fable 2, Too Human, Mass Effect, Naruto Rise of Ninja, Ninja Gaiden 2, Lost Odyssey, Project: Offset, Gears of War 2, not to mention a slew of others.......

Team-deathmatch shooters and first person shooters, as well as sports games and adventure games. That is what floods the Xbox. All of those games I listed are exclusives.

I'm getting really sick and tired of seeing those 3 letters tossed around haphazardly. You do realize that a AAA is determined by it's budget right? Expensive games are AAA because they need to sell well to recoup the investment(the same thing as Movies). Also what does it matter whether a game is AAA or not. Most of the great games I have played have not been critically acclaimed but were great games. Reviews are nearly worthless because they are the reviewers opinion and most people will agree that nobody likes the exact same things. So stop with the AAA nonsense and agree that each system has it's own unique games which are great amounts of fun to play.
