This X360 controller in early development means nothing, just like PS3 compatible code in Bioshock.

But, I agree this must come for 360, simple cause this is a new franchise, and new franchises tend to go multiplatform, so this would be where i bet my money if I have to. And also cause this is published by Ubisoft, and Ubisoft is all in for the multiplat market, the same goes for Splinter Cell 5 (which not only is published by Ubisoft, but also developed by one of its studios), just like Haze run from Halo, SC5 run from MGS4...

GEARS OF WAR IS NOT WHAT IT SEEMS:
The xbots are still staring, eyes glazed over and empty, at the smoke and mirrors Microsoft is blowing at them.

Turn on the the bright lights, and you'll see that the girl isn't as pretty as she looks when the lights were turned off --> Gears of War dark and gritty **cough. (hiccup** too while I'm at it). There's a reason why Gears was intentionally made dark and short? Smoke and mirrors anyone? There's a reason an ugly girl wants to have sex with the lights turned off or dimmed down? So you can't see how ugly she really is. Trickery for the easily fooled.

Turn on the the lights or shine a bright light on Gears of War, and out of the darkness, after your eyes have adjusted, you'll see that you've been sleeping with --> HALO 3 all along. Turn on the lights, and you get Halo3. Same goes for the dark Bioshock. Flash a light bulb on Bioshock, and you'll see Halo 3 again. The ugly girl looks good only in dimmed lighting. Caution.

Notice the amount of leaves and grass in this game called HAZE. This should be enough to convince you of the power of the PS3. There are no deceptions here with magical artistic deceptions to compensate for a low quality hardware to fool the gullible.

These are a gazillion leaves in open daylight where you can see them in all their glory. No light dimming. No painted leaves. They're all made one by one. Count them all. If HAZE had been multiplatform with the xbox360 in mind, well, lookie here. Suddenly most of the game is in night time. Suddenly, there are more boulders and open plains than an ocean of individually bladed grass and leaves and branches. Suddenly, the campain is only 5 levels with only four enemeis on screen at a time. Remember in the 8-bit days when you fight a huge boss? They' make all the backgrounds black. Smoke and mirrors. But everyone would say, "wow, the NES has awesome graphics. That boss filled half the screen."

But if this is not enough to prove once and for all that the xbox360 sucks, take a look at Grand Turismo 5. That game will forever seal the deal and draw a line between the two consoles. To the left of the line, everything that's xbox360 and multiplatform developed with the xbox360 in mind. Everything to the right of that line, the PS3.

Smoke and mirrors? EGM would rate jessica simpson as a perfect 10 female in looks, albeit. I'd stick to Jessica Alba (or Paris Hilton), in terms of looks, that is. You'd wave the EGM magazine all over my face while you seek out Jessica Simpson's looks. In contrast, I'm waking up with Jessica Alba in bed with me (plus she cooks for me), and I'd tell you that I'm pretty happy with Jessica Alba, someone I find way more attractive and productive. You can hold on to your magazine for proof though...But for me, proof is in the pudding.

Throw in Gamepro while you're at it.

MICROSOFT IS A BAD CITIZEN:
Sadly, I've always noticed that the xbox360 is dumming down this generations graphics due to its limited hardware capabilities. Listen, most developers will want to focus on the xbox360 because they can sell more games because of the larger gullible fanbase prone to be mesmerized by smoke and mirrors and hype (they probably own a Wii by now). Almost all developers will make the ports and multiplatforms for hte PS3 very similar to the quality of the xbox360. And therefore, all gamers this generation has suffered and might continue to suffer from the xbox360 graphical limitations. Mediocre graphics. Microsoft is a liability this generation.

Think of a slow car that got to the freeway early in the morning ahead of everyone and is now causing a massive graphical traffic jam because it got there first and is only mediocre in speed. Because it still wants to be first, all gamers will suffer. Get that 60mph hunk of junk xbox360 off the freeway. What a disservice to gaming society by insisting on being upfront while it's overheating and slow and clunking along at 60mph when everyone has work to do and wants to go faster, xbox360. Greedy, selfish. Think of society for once and not yourself.

The most recent MGS4 trailers after Beauty & the Beast all look suspicisouly low quality. This is a suggestion that Kojima might be contemplating a possible crossover to the xbox360 by "future proofing it" for the xbox360's limiations. Perhaps some kind of deal with Microsoft is pending and Kojima is just prepping the game to appear on the xbox360 just in case any deals do go through. And so, the graphical crime on this generation has occured again. Capping off this generation's potential to the limitations of that slow car up front, getting in everyone's way and causing a huge slow down traffic jam and smiling smugly as everyone is late to work or school and car horns are blaring. All because it got on the freeway first. The car is smoking, ready to blow up, and is slow. Get it out off the road so that traffic and flow again.

Look at Final Fantasy XIII, and you know for sure that cannot go multiplatform based on the graphics.

Look at the PS3, the model citizen. Blazing breakneck speed graphics to clear up the freeway from traffic jams. Folding to help the entire world through research of medicine and space and societal issues, according to Stanford University and government & not-for profit groups.

All xboxts and microsoft care about, in contrast, is hurting people in hope to benefit themselves somehow. They seem to care about their own consoles than the well-being of humans by abusing anyone who talks down on their xbox360. And Microsoft is even worse. It's knowingly continuing to realease faulty hardware on its own xbots. Why? Doesn't it even care about it's own supporters? Do they care about you xbots by doing this?

And if you're buying a PS3, you won't miss out on anything. Here's something for you to think about:::::

READ THIS EVERYONE:::::::::::::::::::::: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
PS3 ports of xbox360 games + your PC computer versions of Halo, Gears, Bioshock, and so on ==> free xbox360 without the internet fees, without the need to buy a hi-definiition player, without the need for wii motion sensors, without the clunky two piece design, without junk games you'd never buy, without worry about hardware issues, without the loud noise. But it also comes with PS3, PS2, PS1, and PSN games. Let alone SACD playback.

To think that you can watch bluray movies in all its glory, too, in addition to playing the game shown above. Spiderman 3 and Harry Potter anyone?

Oh, and another thing. XBOTS will have spend the most money this generation. They're the most gullible. Smoke and mirrors can get them to rebuy the same machine over and over again even when it breaks. Smoke and mirrors can get them to think that Gears of War is actually a grpahical breakthrough. Smoke and mirrors can get them to think that they're saving money with the xbox360.

Here, try this.
Add your xbox360 console cost
Add your HD-DVD and / or Bluray player (most likely a PS3, especially if you like games, too)
Add movie costs
Add $100-$400 internet fees for the life of the console
Add game accessories (wi-fi, gamepads, and so on)
Add games on either consoles
Add Wii to experience motion sensing

Deduct and add whatever applies to you

Now tell me how much money you've saved...

PS3 owners get a free bluray player, a free PS2, a free PS1, a free xbox360 when coupled with the PC computer versions of Halo, Gears, and Bioschock along with ports of xbox360 games with mediocre xbox360 graphics because developers focus on the console with a larger fan base to make more money that way, a free SACD player, a free video chat to save long distance phone bills, a free linux computer, and anything else?

And if I don't like Gears of War, Bioshock, or Halo and all those other psycho death metal crack cocaine games that I'm sure prison inamates and mass murderers would prefer (compared to games Hillary Clinton would prefer), why should I buy an xbox360? For it's price and other issues, why would I want it? What else does it do?

Q:Why is Haze PS3 exclusive?

A: Once completed, the Haze development Studios (Free Radical) are doing a big Multiplayer focused game next. They don't have time for the 360 version (Could some other Ubisoft team code it for the 360? perhaps). Since Free Radical are focused on a new franchise that is similar to "time splitters style" of play. I am sure that next game will go multi platform perhaps. Most of the studio helped make goldeneye 64 and timesplitters, which are 2 splitscreen classics.

Ubisoft has told GameSpot that First Radical's sci-fi first-person shooter Haze is now being planned solely for Sony's PlayStation 3 platform.

Originally, Haze was slated as a multiplatform release for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 this spring. However, in May, Ubisoft announced that the PS3 had become the "lead platform" for the title and that the game would be released in November only for the PS3. At that time, Ubisoft noted that "no exclusivity for any platform has been officially announced."

Today, Ubisoft amended its statement, saying that currently only the PS3 version of Free Radical's shooter is in development. The France-based publisher also noted that it was still leaving the door open in the future for "new partnerships," but currently the game is indeed only planned for the PS3. A spokesperson said, "The official statement on PC and Xbox 360 is that these platforms are not confirmed."

The Web sites of both Free Radical and the official Haze site now only list the PS3 version of the game.

Let's get this straight: You can do a lot more with console RAM than you can with PC RAM. Especially when you have XDR. RAM isn;t going to be the biggest problem with either system, it's going to be bandwidth (both) and storage capacity (360).

I'd say, neither storage nor bandwidth is a problem for the PS3. If there is, then there is (scalar) performance (and if you want, raw shader performance). Both, however can be worked around with high parallel algorithms and vectorized code. We will see, if SW technology can improve to a level, which makes Crysis (a like) games possible on the PS3.

I'd say, visually, and judging from videos only, Haze comes pretty close. The density of the jungle is pretty amazing, the wrecks and smoke within this packed environment and no frame drop as well.

Still, Haze will be one out of three on my 2007 budget.

The only thing I see missing is the destructive environment (e.g. no (real?) physics for trees and leaves). I haven't seen a cover system, and I also do not think Haze will conquer the top level of visuals (ever seen the uncharted previews?), but it looks pretty solid so far.

is listed as coming to PS3 and Xbox 360. Who knows in this business anymore, this very well can end up being a timed exclusive. People should never think they know what is going to be an exclusive, because money talks and the 360 is popular for selling FPS. I can assure you folks, and this is no hype, that this game will look, play and perform better then Halo 3. Free Radical Design did wonders with the xbox and ps2 versions of Timesplitters and there is no way this game will fail. I expect to see it on both consoles.

I've already got two controllers, but I just might get one of these as well. I'm not one of those people who believe that rumble really adds that much to the gaming experience. Sure, when I switch between my Xbox 360 and my PS3, I notice the rumble on the Xbox 360, but when I'm gaming I'm not really sure if it actually adds anything to the experience as a whole...

My feeling is that sound and picture add a whole lot more, and from that standpoint, I'm more than pleased with my PS3 already.

I own a ps3.. and I seriously hope I'm wrong on this, but I really get the feeling haze will be a huge flop. Everything about the game just screams flop to me. From the overconfident, smarmy devs to the gimicky necktar thing. Uncharted and ut are the only ps3 games i'm interested in this winter, haze just seems like a giant failure waiting to happen from what i've seen so far.

Well, I hope you're wrong. I have Uncharted on top of my list, too. But then one simple shooter would be nice.

I am not so sure about CoD4 or UT3. Both are top notch titles. I have my doubts about CoD4. I am playing Graw2 right now. Another war game? Yeah, great visuals, maybe sometimes, but not my top favorite right now (I fear its still to much CoD gameplay, even with the step from 3 to 4).

UT3...well, this game looks amazing as well. I just haven't played UT3 yet, and I am not sure what to think about the single player. It might be THE game for multiplayer, though.

But then, there is this huge list of shooters right below: Haze, TimeShift, Army of Two, Blacksite and if you want Strangle Hold (and then the action games Uncharted - that not really, that's a buy - and Assassins Creed).

I personally like Army of Two. Blacksite reminds me of Resistance to much (with a dumb story). Stranglehold. Well, not really since I played the demo. TimeShift, I know nothing about, but thats more a competition to Haze, IMO.

Feature wise, TimeShift is the only one, which adds an additional component to the gameplay like Haze does. Time vs. Nectar. TimeShift is darker, though, Haze is "halo bright". I think I am going with the bright colors. We'll see. I gotta try them all out (gamefly) and keep what I like.

I just hope the other way round. Haze is a sleeper but doesn't get hyped enough. We'll see.

Haze IS timed exclusive. Spoke with people @ Leipzig Games Convention, and it's pretty sure its also coming on PC/360. Only they want to maximize sales on the PS3 so that all the fanboys support a so called 'exclusive'.

They were already far in proces on PC/360 also, but they just put all their effort for this release on the PS3, because Halo 3 would kick Haze's ars too much especially. Which would Crysis do on the PC compared to Haze.

Here is PSU's interview with Rob Yescombe, screenwriter and developer at Free Radical. Enjoy!

PSU: A lot of people, press included, have been labeling Haze as a possible Halo killer. What are thoughts on this comparison and for you, how does Haze have the upper hand?

Rob Yescombe: Well, since we’re a (((PS3 exclusive))), we’re not really in direct competition anyway. The truth is that we’re big fans of Halo, and we’re under no illusions about the fact that Halo is a juggernaut that will roll over most things. Whilst Haze has things in common, we’re doing things differently: we’ve got our unique asymmetric combat system, with different weapons sets and skill sets for each faction, so you’ll be choosing either Mantel or The Promise Hand based on the way that you like to play First Person Shooters. It would not make sense to release for the XB360 now because of Halo 3. If it is really really good and move a lot on the PS3, then it will most probably go to the XB360. Until then they have to test the market first. Because it is so similar to Halo 3, it will most probably be THE comparison that will rage when it is released. That will be an epic flame war if it does really well on the PS3.

Not my type of game though. I prefer KZ. Liked the first one very much (yeah, many say it was not good - I beg to differ. Still play it on my PS3). And of course MGS4 will is what I like. If it releases this holiday and there is not much else I might pick it up. But R&C TOD is what I am looking forward to this holiday.

Free Radical Design probably did start work on the 360 version. But once they realized that the 360 is so limited, they scrapped that version and continued on with PS3 where the possibilities are limitless.

If Haze ends up being a huge hit, Sony will pay the extra money to KEEP it exclusive. Otherwise, they won't care if it comes to 360 next year. Sony won't rest until they have a fps as popular as Halo. But the thing is, it's not about graphics, gameplay, or the sheer amount of content. It's about having an iconic character that everybody loves. People love Master Chief, Link, and Solid Snake. People will play these games no matter how good they are because people love these characters.

What Sony did to Sega and Nintendo in their early days? They paid off ALL the 3rd party developers for exclusives because they had NOTHING to compete with Sega and Nintendo's 1st party titles. Had Microsoft not stepped in, you'd have paid $1000 for your precious PS3 and about $100 dollars a game. NO online network! NO downloadable arcade games! No options! Wake up!

Ok, microsoft is probably the richest IT company in the world..They are a software company not a hardware company...Windows is a good operating system...not the best but good and 90 percent of the world uses it.....but microsoft is not a hardware company...look at the Xbox 360...30 percent defective rate...look at the Zune failure......look at the orginal xbox...how long did it last? The PS2 is still selling...

Sony will crush microsoft in 2008 and 2009...it is a given....Sony put everything but the gas grill into the PS3...bluray, wifi, bluetooth 2.0, universal 2.5 inch SATA harddrive, Cell, PS1 and PS2 compatibility, PSP integration, and HOME...Home is be awesome now since they have 6 to 8 more months to add things and fine toon the system....it will be released when Killzone 2 and MGS4 comes out....it is going to be a crazy time....this time all allows developers to intergrate their games into home.

Sony is on the upswing with Microsoft after 2 years is on the downswing...After Halo 3 there is nothing else that is as hyped till Gears of War 2...and thats not till 2009. Final Fantasy 13 will kill all when its released...5 million PS3s will be sold just for that game alone.

I disagree. We're looking at a level playing field. Resident Evil 5, both consoles. Soulcalibur 4, both consoles. PS3 has Metal Gear 4. 360 has Splinter Cell Conviction. PS3 has Final Fantasy/other jrpgs. 360 has Lost Odyssey/Fable 2. God of War 3 on PS3. Ninja Gaiden 2 on 360. It goes on and on. 360 has xbox live. PS3 has a blue ray player. Nobody is "crushing" anybody.

PS3 just needs a $399 price tag! The gamecube sold only 5 million in Japan, but after 5.6 years of mediocre sales...I mean 67,000 some months in NA (113,000 average...solid x-mas's though), in the end they sold 22 million worldwide. Not bad. It adds up. But Sony has sold 24.9 million for (2003) alone, 19.8 million for (2004) alone for ps2's 2000-2006 reign for 118 million! Microsoft has yet to do this! When things pick up, they really pick up! There is no lose/lose for Sony. They may not be winning right now, but in the end they will sale a lot of consoles (way more than gamecube). Counting them out is fools play.

Sony Ps3 has only been out for 10.5 months and its over 5 million...The wii is kicking ass no doubt...but it really has no games...its only saling because of Wii sports...if nintendo would have come out with a wii sports 2...they would have cleaned up this christmas..

Halo 3 was overhyped...its a good game...but Killzone 2 will kill Halo 3 in graphics, quality and online. 16 player online in halo 3 is weak...

$399.- yeah, hm, hard decision. Should one pay $349 for an impending RRoD and no WiFi and no HD DVD and a $50 fee to use live, or $399 for a quality product which comes with WiFi and BD (and Bluetooth witch works)? hm. Hard decision. Really.

Not all that excited for Haze. I'm going to get UT3, SOCOM: Confrontation, and Folklore this holiday season. The Folklore demo was smashing fun, I cant wait for it. I've never played UT before, but from all the people that have played it that i talk to, all say it's the best. SOCOM.... its my favorite Playstation game so thats a definite. Anybody know the price of Confrontation? Just wondering.

Also, spike(not Spike47), is "PS3 SUCKS" all you can really say? I'd rather have a GameCube than 360 right now. PSO and the Sonic Adventure series are games I grew up with. =D

Japanese people are smart and they know that so far with the 360s lifespan, it has been getting heavy-hitter titles way too fast and early. There seems to be ton of FPS and not a wide variety of other genres like Sony's Little Big Planet and Eye of Judgment. Plus if an American company starts buying up Japanese gaming studios, citizens of Japan will look at them in total disgust. This all comes back to Which is the more powerful country and who owns this land and that land and so on. MS should just pull out of that place. Now, on to the topic. Rumble is back baby! Oh Yeah!
