Why can't people get over Lair? Anyone who wasn't bias could tell that game was over hyped. It's a shame that people continue to package it in with great games like Heavenly Sword to try to prove their ridiculous views. Lair flopped because people set their expectations too high, stop trying to believe it somehow worsened the games surrounding it.

i keep playing the ratchet demo over and over but it doesn't get old. uncharted coming from naughty dog in november. then hopefully resistance 2 next near followed by the next jak and daxter. totally cool!

The R&C demo was the only game i played this month that made me put HS back in its box this month for at least 2hrs.
Trust me,that is a very big deal,because i just love HS.and for R&C(demo) to make me play for 2hrs withouth touching HS just says how good it is.
I CANT WAIT FOR THE FINAL GAME!!

they're all fun and humorous.

too bad it does'nt have an online portion, this game is bound to score higher than heavenly sword, there is now way somebody can give this game a lower rating than HS.

in oter words, ratchet and clank is like hs with different gameplay, and funny weapons, and you got more to do after the game is over.

I expect alot from this game,alot, this ps3 game deserves the hype.

...that there has never been a platform game on any Xbox console that comes close to R&C or Jak & Daxter for that matter. The only game that sort of came close was that one with the cat which went around with a vacuum cleaner (forget the name of it). But it was a totally forgettable experience.

My problem is that the 360 is more than capable of pushing out a great platformer but there isn't one as yet. I don't give a damn about the 22Gig debate, thats just for tech heads that get off on specs. All I care about is the gameplay and if a developer has to spread their story over multiple discs then so be it.

I would never buy a PS3 because of the amount of discs a game comes on but rather how good the games are. However, I doubt R&C (essentially a kids game) will make me buy a PS3. KZ2 yes, R&C no.

You're right...pretty forgettable.

I only found one really good platformer on the original Xbox...Metal Arms. Found it in a bargain bin, and other than some issues with screen tearing, it was a pretty good game with strong doses of action and humor.

Yeah Blinx was bad. But Conker Live and Reloaded was a great game. Especially the multiplayer. I'm also a fan of Kameo for the 360. Highly Recommended.

Kameo, too....that was my first 360 game, though I would consider it more of an adventure game than a platformer. Great game, tho, and underappreciated by 360 owners.

Definitely going to have to pick this one up. The first R&C I got was "Going Commando" which was pretty damn sweet, and I've gotten all the other ones so far. Great series! I've been playing the PSP version to hold me over until ToD is released. Can't wait ;)

After KZ2 comes out the PS3 will be in full throttle. R&C is adding fuel. Halo 3 puts the 360 in full throttle. See which gets the furthest... please look at international numbers too, not just American

I truly am glad for those that get their thrills from this as it's nice when you enjoy a franchise.Played through the first two but the idea of playing another is not that appealing to me, and that's fine of course because i don't have to anyway.

I don't really like the idea of it being like PS2 all over again if it means it's like PS2 all over again in HD.

Maybe others too are questioning if that's what they want this time round from a console.

Really no possible way for this to flop like Lair. Like Halo 3, R&C are sticking to the fundamentals that made all their previous games so charming and fun to a generation of gamers. I mean, the only way for it to not be good is if they break from that mold, ahem-Ratchet Deadlocked- ahem.

halo, resident evil,jak and daxter, PGR,forza,gran turismo, soul caliber,COD, ninja gaiden,dead or alive,tekken,MGS4, mario, zelda, metroid,smash brothers....i could go on but you get the idea. there are sequels to all kinds of great series on all consoles. you miss out on some great gaming by saying this.

Much like Jak the series is very well done, it's just that i have never seen them to be truly astonishing.Sony has by far the best in this category and this is unlikely to change anytime soon.

To say that the Ratchet or Jak games are in any way bad would be somewhat ridiculous but they are not essential games in the same way that say a great Mario is.Essential for fans and certainly systems sellers for some but not in the same league as a truly great Mario or Zelda.

My only argument is that playing any game is going to be boring if it is mostly only an update every time.Even something as mighty as Halo would start to grate on it's 4th or 5th run if it didn't shake up the formula more than simply changing the story or slightly refining here and there.

I predict gamers getting a little tired if things continue this way.

Mario Galaxy looks to be something altogether different and Halo3 although essentially adding on what has made the previous games so playable, does shake things up considerably more than you would expect from just a lazy sequel.

Just how different will Ratchet really be past it's glorious visuals and additions.

This is aimed at all games quite honestly as there is a real danger of the an age of stale gaming.

Insomniac deserves all the credit. Sony seriously owes Insomniac big time this generation cycle. Can't wait for what these guys can do with Resistance 2. Good to see good things happening to hardworking people. Like most, RC TOD is a first day buy for me no matter what reviewers say as insomniac always delivers.

AN RATCHET AND CLANK IS FOR KIDDIES!!. So I preffer a Ratchet and C game. I am 30 years old and I dont have these "macho" problems. Im a kid at heart and I enjoy beutiful pastel colored graphics. I preffer any Jak and Daxter game over any Grand Theft Auto. Actually these kiddie games are usually more challenging than the MAN'S game.

So thanks The GOD OF WAR that the video games industry offers variety to a varied audience.
