Crytek deep into PS3 development, creating "secret technologies"

Crytek, the team behind the upcoming Crysis, is heavily invested in console development. In fact, it appears that Crytek is especially invested in Sony's next-gen platform. "Our PS3 development is going deeper than many people assume right now," studio boss Cevat Yerli told GI.biz.

xbox can do some dx 10 things huh? lol what a tit, maybe you should learn about what your saying, the graphics card in the xbox is basically the same as the nvidia 7800GTX, a card that i had in my pc nearly 3 years ago (2.5 years before dx10 was around)! there is a reason what the top end Dx10 card costs around £400 and the xbox costs less than £200!!

Ports suck. having seperate dev teams for each console is the way to go even if its the same game. I am anxiously waiting to see what a focused devloper like this can squeeze outta the PS3. actually we have yet to see rendering from cell and rsx working together, there have been games that have been rendered by rsx, and then affects done by cell, but it will be years before rsx is maxed, and cell, and really a long time before they are used together, and anywhere near close to maxed, the ps3 will never max out, and then theres blue ray

Sony also has engineers working with the Crytek crew in optimizing the engine for the PS3 I believe the Crytek engine is a viable and marketable platform for other developers ala Epic. I'm all for this as I feel that too many games are powered by the Unreal Engine. Its not a bad thing but competition on game engines is also a great thing.

As far as "Crysis" and "Killzone" go. Well I think its all a matter of opinion. The physics in crysis look amazing for sure. Lighting imo looks better in Killzone. With the Lightning and everything I have great faith in both games.

Now I own both systems and its unmistakable to notice so many fanboys that want to slit throats but who cares really. Do they really get to you that much? If so I honestly think you have the problem. These are people on the internet who probably couldn't win a debate against special ed pre-schoolers. There are some very good people here. These forums are much better then most. Go to G4TV if you wanna see some idiots post. I don't post often but when I do I try to make it comprehensive and useful.

Both systems are amazing. Bioshock is not a great game but has a great story I liked a lot. A whole lot. The controls and otherwise sucked imo. You cant even dent a trashcan with your wrench... Still though enjoyable.

Heavenly sword is getting crap reviews too. Do you know why? Cause it was made to be a beautiful work of art imo. Not a God of War game. every review says "Looks better then anything I have ever seen on a console" Or something like that. That is what it was supposed to be and to me thats why I want it. Reviewers always say something like "Control is clumsy but looks really REALLY good" PS3 fans will say "Looks REALLY good" 360 fans will say "Control sucks" Both right and its all a matter of opinion. So dont let them get to you man.

Bioshock is the same. PS3 will say "Crap control, Buggy, Linear, Lame" 360 will say "Inovative, Fun, Challenging, Great story" This war wont end. People still argue over Dreamcast and PS2... Its all in what you want and what you like. Don't let trolls bug you man. Seriously these people will go til they die. IMO 360 has great games and even if PS3 beats it out down the road. If they still make games like gears and bioshock it will be fine cause thats what people like. PS3 offers a hell of a lot for the price and will have some beautiful games like the new FF and such.
