I've already seen the extended Killzone 2 trailer. So there's nothing new to see here. Gametrailers.com has had the extended version since E3 2007. I'm not sure why many people don't seem to have checked it out already. Anyway, the game is one of the top ones on my ps3-games-to-buy-list :)

I'm pretty sure that's Killzone 1 footage they were using for a lot of that. I'm serious. That's why some of it didn't look as good.

Killzone 2's blood is so much more realistic than we're used to. I've never seen anything like it.

None of that is new stuff. My thought is that this guy didn't see the 05 trailer and thought it was something new. It was all over the web in July and this guy and apparently a handful of others didn't notice this. Either way the game is a massive leap from KILLZONE on the PS2. Glad the newcomers can stop by and see it either way if they didn't notice it awhile back.

first he said that after the cgi back in 05 killzone gain lots of hype. the graphics inprove as we see the e307 gameplay. we now can see new characters. basicly a trailer from e3 show a very solid game as spected. but first, killzone was very critisice( cant spell that) for being called halo's killer.

The only new thing I saw was the guy bleeding, I don't remember that part...everything else I've seen before. I love how the machine gun scope looks and the smoke coming from the rocket trail looks awesome. I always laugh when the n00bs get blown up at the beginning of the trailers.

The Ai is dumbed down alot so someone can play through the demo without dying, or not being able to show what he wants to. The most obvious one is MG4 where the guy easily walked up next to enemies and our good friend the narrator was explaining the whole way through about what he was doing.

I still remember the Ninja gaiden presentation, where they couldn't beat Alma after a bunch of tries. It showed how the game was hard, but imagine something like this during a huge event like E3. You have to be able to play through the level without dying to showcase your game.

Every demo that is done for a presentation is dumbed down just for that showing, trust me it won't be that way once they game is finished. I'm really looking forward to playing this game, I had a lot of fun with the first KILLZONE even if people said it was a bad game. KILLZONE was the reason why I started playing FPS's in the first place.

parts of KZ2 show some pretty impressive AI, like helghast dudes flanking you while two stay bunkered in front firing at you...but other parts go back to the "intelligence of an orange rolling down a hill"...

The graphics in this game are even better than flippin' crysis if you ask me(except for the explosion graphics they HAVE to fix those explosion graphics) and this game is still far from being complete-it isn't coming until next year. P.S huge props to GG for the blood graphics.

There is still one thing i don't think people really get about what it is that makes Halo what it is today.Aside from the excellent gameplay and a story that generally people seem to like a lot ,Master Chief is a real hero.It's this more than anything that has made Halo so popular but Halo's high acclaim is a collection of things most likely it's brilliant combat mechanics and superb art design.Halo's calibre is very rare.

I'm sure Killzone2 will be a real contender and i say this not really knowing for sure of course so that much is most certainly not guaranteed to be honest guys - i liked the first one quite a bit though and found the whole thing to be quite believable.As for a real connection with the characters in the first Killzone, none that i noticed if i'm honest.

Hope this is good for you guys i really do but do yourself a favour and ask why it is Halo is so damn huge - it's certainly not because of any massive user base that the PS2 clearly enjoyed and i think that says it all.

This was addressed many times. The lighting in this game alone is enough to add colour to this game and is on a level that hasn't been matched to date (and doesn't look to be seen in other future releases). This was the introduction into the enemy territory, it was meant to be darker than other portions of the game.

What pissed me off in Gears was how the contrast, and intensity was poorly handled, and some effects were so over used that it hurt the game more than it helped (such as specular maps). This game doesn't suffer from that. It actually has an art direction I haven't seen in game for a long while. I'm glad the PS3 is so powerful in animations, that movements have become so much more believable and fluid, than anything I've seen on any other console. Just look at Uncharted, the animation are incredible.

Can't deny that. and Yes Sony fans knocked Gears for being to dark and the Killzone footage seen so far is dark as well. Bad video quality is a prime example but it's not exactly going to be vibrant like Halo. Gears and Killzone's color palettes are extremely similar.

To actually see the CGI inbedded right next the the actual gameplay, one can see that GG has really got a *monster on their hands here. For some reason (maybe the way the video has been cropped or filtered) the video looks cleaner and more like something I'd see on my 65" DLP. There's nothing competing with this game right now. It's the talk of the towm ~ the talk of the gaming world, and GG has got to be the most talked about studio on Earth right now. KILLZONE = GOTY 2008

This game is dark, grimy, and gritty and I love it. The environs, the weather, the gun reticles, the spot-specific body shots, the sound, the blood pools, the facial animations, the motion blur, the RPG signature....(breathe)...what else.....? WOW

It's almost too good to be true -- But it is true! Those fuCCCers at Guerilla PUNK'D everybody but I always had faith. I'm a KILLZONE 1 lover and player. ;-)

I hope Guerilla Games can continue to improve in terms of graphics (I know they don't really need to except for the flames/fire), gameplay, achieving "AAA" status and becoming greater game developers in a whole. Hopefully this game won't be too short and there will have a substantial amount of replay value (such as online mp/coop). I happened to see a vehicle in the CGI (Not the Dropship or Helicopter, but the gunner-manned jeep-like vehicles on exactly 3:10 and another at about 3:30 in the video). I hope they include those in the game as well.

the only real threat of crysis in visuals compared to killzone is the fact that crysis has been shown in several places,

we have seen:

crysis's water, but we havent seen killzone's

we have seen jungle fights in crysis, but not in killzone

we have seen vehicles ridden in crysis, not in killzone

we have seen crysis in day, but not killzone

we have seen rain in crysis, not killzone

we have seen destructible trees in crysis, but that hasnt been able to be seen in killzone since the level was in a war-torn area

we have seen animals in crysis, not killzone

we have seen several different weapons in crysis, not killzone

we have seen many areas that crysis is able to be shown in an occasion that several affects can be shown, but not killzone, still killzone shows better things than many movies in this early stage

point being killzone for this one level, the polygon count alone in killzone 2 makes any game on any platform look last gen, and its not close to finished yet, so please, killzone owns all games no matter what platform

Killzone 2 shows the lightning, the dark clouds, and other impressive details. But, as for me, I'm interlocked between Crysis and Killzone 2. But with one of the character models in KZ2 demo having a polygon count amounting to an entire killzone level on PS2 is remarkable. I can't imagine where this game is going but the "Master" and Grand "Daddy" of them all. I also have to add that Crysis features a Sandbox editor so that may lower repetitiveness.

And based on what we've seen from KZ1, GG will need to improve on "including inconsistent and sometimes nonexistent AI, occasional bugs resulting in random game crashes, frame-rate issues, numerous distracting graphical glitches, repetition of the same voices, short draw distance, and an awkward control system"

What we know will definitely we great in KZ2 is, "sound effects, its soundtrack, and its presentation of a gritty war zone and it's unique art design." and soon, the oh-so-lovely-not-so-lovely-due -to-war graphics.

Never played the first one but definitely getting this on day 1. Do you guys think the story will continue from the first game, because if so I gotta go rent it. The game is about Earth sending fleets of humans to other planets to colonize, some planets are hospitable, such as the planet called Vekta. But one planet that is colonized, Helghan, has unexpected results on the colonists. So those colonists ask for help from Vekta, but Vekta denies their very exsistence.

After a while the changes to the colonists of Helghan start to show an increase in physical attributes. They realize they can get back at Vekta by destroying them. Helghan launches an attack on Vekta but fails to really get a foothold on the planet so they are defeated. Helghan is thrown into a deep depression. Many years pass and a new person is leader of Helghan, Scholar Viscari, he brings new hope to the people of Helghan and tells them that Vekta is to blame for their troubles. So he amasses an Army, The Helghast, and moves towards Vekta.

The people of Vekta are caught unaware and are overtaken. So you are put into the game as a soldier of the Vektan army, called the International Strategic Arms, or ISA. You play as Captain Jan Templar, and you are tasked with holding off Helghast forces and gaining a foothold to repel the attack.

In KILLZONE II we se the ISA army lead a combined attack (the Legion) on the footstep and gem of the Helghan planet, the capital city of Pyrrhus. What ensues is the valiant effort of the ISA soldiers led by KILLZONE 1 stalwart Rico to take down the Helghan and prevent another attack on Vekta or planet Earth itself.

Cutscenes were ok and felt like there really is going to be some cool mayhem, but when the game started. It was only mayhem with stupid looking AI.

It looks really good, but if AI stays like that in the end. OUCH, pure OUCH.

Also in some parts of that video graphics and faces looked really flat and boring. In cutscenes graphics were good, but suddenly quality went down every now and then...hmm.

Remember graphics won't last forever, its the gameplay that counts. Why is any of this relevant? Halo comes out in a month, Killzone comes out sometime NEXT YEAR!! I don't care if Halo comes out 2 years after the 360 and Killzone 2 years after the PS3 launched. Someone posts a picture or video of this and first thing someone thinks is "Lolz this is going to pwnz Halo" WTF? Get over yourself. If you slap in this game and go "this looks so much better than HALO!!" than you're not a true gamer, just a joke.
