Heavenly Sword Review- 9.7 "Near Perfect"

What a month of games this has turned out to be. The Xbox 360 receiving Bioshock, Nintendo Wii has Metroid Prime 3 and the Playstation 3 gets Warhawk and Heavenly Sword. Has there ever been a better time to be a gamer? Heavenly Sword, developed by British development team Ninja Theory, is without a doubt the most anticipated Playstation 3 release to date. Ironically for a game developed in Britain is the remarkable Japanese feel to it. Never has a game had so much hype behind it and a lot of eyes will be watching to see just how good this title is. While it won't make or break Sony and their Playstation 3 efforts, if this game doesn't do well, there may be trouble ahead. Thankfully Heavenly Sword manages the almost impossible task of surpassing any hype surrounding it.

I dont believe the source of this story to be some website I would ever use for anything.

But if people like TheMart can use it http://n4g.com/ps3/News-443...
then it Must Be a credible source!

hehe

gunnerforlife6086d ago

lol this game is going too rock, i bet people like the mart r cone have the excuse(but thats a sony website)lol alls fair and love and war;)

ALI-G6086d ago (Edited 6086d ago )

sony in trouble so they thrown some $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

i will wait for second reliable source
like IGN / GAMESPOT / GAMESPY
but what a jump from 8 till near perfect . plus it revviewed in only one page.

Xbox 360 Will6086d ago (Edited 6086d ago )

Good find! Shut them up before they even start to talk! Uh oh here they come! Look above me!

ReconHope6086d ago

it was funny how the other day TheMart was strongly arguing that it wasn't a credible source for the WarHawk Review but he mysteriously forgot when he posted this crap.

Marceles6086d ago

Not downplaying nextgenireland, but I'll wait for IGN/Gamespot/1up to review this game. Not that nextgenireland sucks, but I'd like to hear what IGN/Gamespot/1up think of the game's final product since they're the ones who are less easy to impress. I'm still picking this up day 1 btw...

TheMART6086d ago (Edited 6086d ago )

There is a difference dude between:

Next gen Ireland giving hardware sales counts

or

Reviewing software.

One is pure facts. The other needs some capabilities.

Why is this the second time PS3 owners are using a NextgenIreland review for a PS3 game? That desperate???

Wait till it get just 8 reviews from IGN, EGM and the rest!

BTW has everyone watched the top of that website? The picture???

ONLY SONY PRODUCTS
Right. A Playstation fanboy site. Nice find guys.

ReconHope6086d ago (Edited 6086d ago )

im still going to wait for those reviews though cause they are the most important. The xbox fanboys (that keep trolling the ps3 section) and i could agree on this to some extent.

@TheMart

Doesn't change fact that you were questioning the credibility of the site. Delusional Hypocrites nowadays...ahh...The irony..

felidae6086d ago

but this is one of the best games ever! s

sorry ;-)

lalaland6086d ago

How come you find the reporting of sales on a island like Ireland noteworthy when you want to disregard the reporting of sales in Denmark as unimportant?

Especially since they are of comparable population (though the danish population average being wealthier), and considering the first paragraph of the Denmark report was actually about the nordic countries which are populated by about three times as many as the island of Ireland...

Just wondering...

Give it up buddy... "Pure facts" from an unreliable source?

you post the same BS on several other sites 24/7.

How many people actually run the TheMart account?

People are not that dumb...

Have a nice day:)

Shadow Flare6086d ago

Had Nextgenireland given Bioshock 10/10, you would've been singing its praises. You wouldnt have said its a nobody site, would you?

You're just saying that because they gave a PLAYSTATION 3 game a great score

NO WAY!

Go step on a rake
Preferably one with the metal fork on both ends

THIS is funny, good job O, you did your homework very well before posting,

Wonder where the .3 deduction came from? Maybe it's because it's 720/480p only.

Marty83706086d ago

I've pre-ordered my copy. Can't wait.

Rama262856086d ago

It might not be a website everyone has heard of, but that's because none of us are from Ireland. It might be the equivalent of GameSpot for all we know! This is the same as all reviews anyway, one man or team's opinions.

thanks next gen ireland!

PlayStation 3 Games That Desperately Need a PS5 Remaster

The PlayStation 3 may not have been the strongest generation for Sony, but there were still some diamonds in the rough that deserve a revisit as PS5 remasters.

Even if they could just remaster and put on PSVR2, some would still look great as VR titles and could do a whole lot to bolster the headset w these exclusives! I'd imagine the investment of reworking these titles into VR would be way less than building new games from the ground up, and they could be amazing experiences, and VR often makes flat games feel fresh again. The Resistance and Killzone games are particularly what I want to see!!

Rude-ro41d ago

I played killzone 3 in 3d and it really changed the game per being immersive.
In vr, that would be even more awesome.

darthv7241d ago

Funny you mention that... my son wanted to play some PS3 games in 3d on my PS tv and he was blown away by how good KZ3 was. It really was a great addition to the game. Im surprised there have not been more 3d games from that era being ported to the PSVR/VR2.

_SilverHawk_41d ago

resistance 1-3, killzone 1-3, uncharted 1-3, uncharted golden abyss, folklore, socom 4 , motorstorm, twisted metal, MAG, heavenly sword

Cacabunga41d ago

Killzone 2+3
Sly Thieves in Time
Crack in Time
God of War Ascension
Motorstorm
Modnation racer
Infamous 1+2

Profchaos40d ago (Edited 40d ago )

Killzone trilogy in VR would be amazing bonus points if they offer shadow fall.

There was a psvr1 Killzone project that supermassive was working on at one stage which wasn't up to scratch and Sony brand it back in house I was hoping we would see that on psvr2 eventually.

Personally I'd love to see some more love or acknowledgement of psvr2 from Sony in general it was a expensive headset and Sony barely acknowledge it's existence

seanpitt2340d ago

The amount of work needed to remaster these games wouldn't be beneficial on a financial and business sense.. MGS4 would probably be the best bet as it would need the least amount of work!

Iceball200041d ago

YEAAASSSSS! I miss this franchise and wanna play it so bad again.

Father__Merrin41d ago

The time is perfect for a resistance fall of man game campaign coop multiplayer

InUrFoxHole41d ago

The resistance series is str8 trash to me. Socom 3 I would welcome. Or killzone MP.

Marcus Fenix41d ago

A Resistance reboot will be awesome

Michiel198941d ago

That's what Bungie should make, Ill keep saying it until it happens

1Victor41d ago (Edited 41d ago )

Resistance was ok but Warhawk and Starhawk was better and kept me coming back for almost a decade of fun and petty revenge on the loud mouth unskilled players 🤣
Edit I loved capture the flag dropping the pot on the flag carrier was extremely satisfying as well as transforming your plane in bot form and stumping them to death 😱

41d ago
Michiel198941d ago

Resistance was the best co-op fps I ever played after L4D2

Dante's inferno... an excellent GoW inspired game. So sad the sequels will never be.

LoveSpuds544d ago (Edited 544d ago )

I recall enjoying it well enough at the time, but it wasn't a patch on God of War 3 which came out around the same time I think.

I own it and fired it up on my PS3 about 6 months ago and time hadn't been particularly kind to it although it still very much nailed the atmosphere and it is a cool as he'll setting and universe.

Inverno544d ago

Dante's Inferno needs the GOW treatment. No cut camera, with a real hellish depiction of the 9 circles and a story as dark and as serious would be amazing.

Yui_Suzumiya544d ago

Still pretty amazing there was a PSP version that was actually pretty good. I remember playing it 10 years ago. I had the PS3 version when it first came out and loved it.

Hellcat2020544d ago

Ahh the memories of playing Heavenly Sword
Such a amazing experience

LoveSpuds544d ago

Yup, I remember being blown away with Heavenly Sword. I remember holding out hope that they would go back and add trophy support as a incentive to go back and replay the game, but I don't think they ever did?

Yui_Suzumiya544d ago

I couldn't beat the final boss though! Spent several days trying but eventually gave up, lol. Still enjoyed it though.

refocusedman543d ago

heavenly sword was such a short, but amazing game. that game should be prime material to be made into a download only remaster.

YoungKingDoran543d ago

I really enjoyed Castlevania, but struggled to get into it again reattempting it a few years back. I still think it does another of things well; story, presentation, level varietily and art style at least. Gameplay maybe has not stood test of time unfortunately which makes it a chore to get through.
