Yes, God of War II was great, but not a button masher? What planet are you from? I remember having to mash a button to lift a door open. Mashed more buttons to kill all the guys that came out. Sure the button changed when I was about to finish them. Then back to mashing again.

I'm intensely curious about this game and really want it to turn out well, because then I'll have that much more to look forward to when I get around to buying a PS3. But it seems that the initial trickle of reviews all come from friendly publications. This smacks of a deliberate marketing strategy to generate early positive momentum either to counteract or even to discourage potential negative reviews down the road. Nothing wrong with that really, but it worries me because it betrays an underlying lack of confidence in the product. I say have faith in your craftsmanship and let the critics say what they will.

Ninja Theory put to much time and effort into this title for it to be anything but. Their attention to detail from the story, voice acting, character movement, studying thousands of kung fu films, and facial antimations, are not going to go unnoticed and appreciated. I don't see this title scoring less than a 9 / 90% overall because I feel this dedication and attention to detail is going to pay off for Ninja Theory and all their hard work.

Anyone that says this game is a God of War rip off has either never played the game or they are simply trying to down play the splendor that is "Heavenly Sword".

Because I played the demo. Ultimately it is up to the gamer to decide what he or she likes. They gave bioshock GREAT reviews. And I don't doubt that its a GREAT game. But will I get it? NO, for the simple fact that I personally don't like FPS, I don't like the fact that when you walk you see this big O gun bobbing around, or just to hands or whatever.

But that is Preference, and No one should hate on someone else's preference/opinion. People on this site need to learn to agree to friggin disagree.

I really enjoyed the demo when I took my time to savor the combat system. I've got HS preordered, but if the game is really short I probably will just rent it, and put my money towards something else. I also have to shake my head at the losers who constantly try and downplay games on systems they don't own (both 360 and PS3 owners are guilty), and in my opinion, as an owner of all three systems, Heavenly Sword is the kind of game the 360 lacks and needs more of. Action games rock!

I want this games bad....I think that some 360 owners do not want to admit when their system lacks certain types of games in exchange for fps's..I thought Bioshock had a great art style and atmosphere when I watched the trailer almost 6 months ago! But even then I knew it was not my type of game. But I do not dis games for not being my type of game. That would be dumb of me!! Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Ratchet are my type of story, third person action/adventure games. Sony knows their audience and MS knows theirs! i lost all respect for ign reviews after they reviewed Gears of War and Resistance: Fall of Man.

they completely *BLAST the multi-player aspect of Gears, the framerate issues, the confined corridors, the barely there story and cheesy voice acting, and a few other things, and praise the visuals.

they completely *CREAM their pants at the multi-player aspects of Resistance, the consistant, silky framerate, wide open spaces, the great story and presentation, excellent voice acting, and intense firefighting; they even say the graphics aren't as bad as people think they are, especially on an HDTV,

but they *STILL scored Gears of War higher than Resistance, just *BECAUSE of the graphics!!

i don't doubt that Gears is a good game (i've played it plenty on my roommate's 360), but i think ign completely *SHAFTED Resistance; i guess i just don't see how you can praise something like framerate and multiplayer on Resistance, but trash it on a game like Gears, and *STILL give Gears the better score.

ever since then, i haven't put much stock in ign's reviews. once again, the only review i care about is my own, and after playing the demo of Heavenly Sword, and being a *HUGE fan of the God of War games and that style of action/adventure game (and Heavenly Sword is *NOT LIKE God of War *AT ALL, despite the fact that videos make it seem that way; seriously, you just have to *FEEL it in your hands to know that it's not a God of War rip), i'm more than reasonably certain that i'm going to enjoy the hell out of Heavenly Sword.

This game plays so well, the controls are easy enough to pick up, but hard to master. The animation and graphics are both damn fine. The game is just good period.

The only thing I do feel bad about is the fact that the game will be overshadowed by Halo3 and whilst Halo will sell by the bucketload, Heavenly Sword maybe ignored.

I don't get any of the review sites saying that's it's "TOO SHORT". Are u f**cking kidding me?? GOW was 7 hours long, how's that not short, ffs. Get used to it, games will be short nowadays because the games are harder to make and companies want to dish it out very quickly.

first off the idiot (wii60) who said that the game sux cuz it has no rumble or online play is dumb, u most likeley love zelda and it has no online play and horrible combat with easy enemies and lack of story, yet u think zelda is a 8+ please

heavenly sword so far looks amazing, and the demo it self if u learn everything is amazing. rumble relaly isnt needed. while i wouldnt mind it, turth is i dont notice it when i play games whether i have rumble or not. dunno if u fanboys want the rumble for something a lil more disturbing with your vibrating wii-wii motes, but the rumble doesnt affect gameplay sorry

Both bioshock and heavenly are great games but you know what.As soon as Metal Gear 4 comes out everyone is going to forget about the whole 360 library. They are going to be too busy playing the greatest game ever to exist in this world.

Heavenly sword is absolutely better than both God of War games wich i own and like very much.But the truth is tha HS has the advantage beacause is current gen, just wait till GOW 3 and i'll eat my own words.
