WarHawk - Release Date Confirmed

WarHawk, one of the most anticipated title's for the PS3 has finally received a release date for later this summer. WarHawk is releasing to both the PSN store and shipping to retailer store shelves this August 22nd. The Blu-Ray version of the game will be priced at 59.99$ USD.

This game is such a confirmed purchase for me. Didnt expect it so soon. Planned to buy stranglehold and andvanced war fighter that week but looks like advanced war will have to wait till after stranglhold because i won't have time to play all 3. The beta was so fun i really cant wait to be reunited with this baby

It was said to be $30 or so PSN version. And, AFAIR, they say, you can "install" the BD version on up to 5 (local?) machines to play multiplayer.

Amazon, EB and Buy show 8/28 as the release date. To tie in with the whole PSN update service, I am guessing 8/28 is when the game will be shipped and sold on 8/29.

yeah R6 Vegas does have occasional ping problems for me too...it would be easy to cure, if they simply would allow you pick a room...rather than it automatically logging you into one...

I like R6 Vegas though...I like the pace...and the cover system...it is a good compliment to Reistance in my book...where as Resistance can be mindless run and gun...and Vegas requires a totally different approach...

Neither game touches Warhawk on any level as far as fun though...the beta was awesome with only minor issues needing addressed (other than the crashing problems)...if you enjoy online gaming at all, there is no excuse not to get Warhawk...

This is the start of something good for the PS3. Then in September we get Heavenly Sword, and, well, you get the picture. starting next month, nobody has to complain about not having enough good games on the PS3 anymore.

but the good thing about incog is that they never leave you out. because now they are givingf it to everyone. the beta was one the most fun i've had online since Halo and resistance. and i'm not a big halo fan at all but it's multiplayer rocked.. this game though stands heads and sholders with resistances. and it's totally lag free. especially with the fact that you could host and be a dedicated server. and the only way you could be a dedicated server is by having a fast broadband and stable connection so lag free is what you'll get. ^^ i like i said. i'll end up buying this when i get to the states, and more importantly i'll get the disc based game simply because my dog when i was on leave period visting my family, my puppy ate my blu tooth charger for my head phones so that was basically a waste of 125, but at least i get it free in this game.

And boy, do I miss it! Warhawk is a lot of fun and VERY addicting. And the Jabra BT125 is a great bargain. I can't wait to pick up the retail version. Oh, and I work at a Game Crazy and we'd been told for some time now that August 28 will be the release date, BUT if that's not confirmed as a "street date," that means it won't actually be in stores until the 29th.

First of all the retail version is worth it cause u are also getting a headset.(a good one i might add). And if u thought Halo 2 or RFOM multiplayer was good think how this might be when the game is entirely multiplayer. Think back to Unreal Tournament, it was moslty muiltiplayer and was the best of its time. Warhawk might be the best until UT3 comes out.

nice i have the jabra bt125... it works great for resistance and motorstorm. this also means that its really gonna be supported by warhawk... sweet. its only 30 bucks too. i will be getting the online version though. it will probably take me two days to download lol.

This game will be funner online than resistance and will stand shoulder to shoulder with halo... there i said it. it has all the features of halo online minus the co-op single player.

I plan on getting the ps3 eye and it has both a camera and mic. Do you think ill be able to use it in warhawk instead of buying a bluetooth headset? I'd rather do that than have one of those things in my ear.

Headset's going to be a better way to go. I don't even know if Warhawk will play the other players through the speakers, but the EyeToy mic isn't really for that sort of game - trying to pick up your voice across the room with explosions blaring through your speakers would be bad news. Go for the headset!

I will be getting this game but i am sad it has no single player. Warhawk was one of my favorite ps1 games. I remember getting my ps 1 on launch day and watching the trailer disc and saying "i must own that game asap".

I see where you're coming from, but I'm glad they recognized the multi-player had more potential and decided to focus on that. I'd rather have that than a mediocre single player with a good multi-player - we've seen that formula before and no one ever seems to bother with the single player so why should the dev waste the time on it?

Maybe if it does really well they'll revisit the idea of the single player, but with all the reviews of the beta it seems like they made the right call.

Better now than latter , Ive already reserved this game by trading in Rainbow six vegas for 30.00$ store credit at gamestop. Thats the most Ive ever had for store credit. I hope the blu tooth headset is a reliable product.

Sometimes I get the feeling an online multi player type game like Warhawk is hotter than an beautiful adventure game like Lair. Me personally I think Lair owns this game, but I guess it's a matter of taste.
