From the latest reports, we can see that T5DR ONLINE's interface will support a battle lobby where you can create and search for "battle rooms" to duke it out with others players. Each player has their name listed as well as a flag, which is good news, and indicates international play is likely.
While in battle rooms you have the option of inviting friends, viewing other people's profiles, kicking people from the battle room, and even changing your starting position from first player side or second player side.
One of the best features to be unveiled is the existence of VOICE CHAT and the ability to have ranking matches with other people ONLINE.

Virtua Fighters is actually better then Tekken. Still, out of all the Tekken games Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 are probably the best in the series. Soul Calibur is still one of my favorite franchises.
Depends if you want an animation movie with ok battles or great fighting game with some animations.
Tekken tag tournament 2 is probably my favourite (still didn't play 7 unfortunately)

Tekken 4 gets a lot of hate, but it has the best story, atmosphere and soundtrack in the series IMO. Sure the gameplay was very unbalanced thanks to the new stuff they tried out but I'd pick it over Tekken 1 any day of the week.

Hear hear. I had a lot of fun with 4. The tiered levels were kind of odd, but it's got a chill style.
Tekken Tag 2 is still my favorite though.
I'm a bit lost on the hate as well.
I mean the engine was different but they had to update the game to a new generation. The tier list gets criticism but Tekken 5 also had huge issues with this and doesn't get half the bad mouthing. The aesthetics of the game were wonderful, the sound design amazing, the music very memorable, and I loved their attempt to reduce the cast and keep the roster diverse while pushing the most down to earth narrative Tekken has seen or will ever see.
I think the fact Tekken 4 was so different from the other Tekken's is why I like it the most.
Good points. And at least they tried something new with the stage design affecting gameplay, sure it didn't work out well that time, but I wish they kept at that, I think they were on to something there.
Preach, and the opening of T5 was amazing! Still the best opening in the series. Sucks that it seems they haven't tried to top it.
Was never a huge fan of the Tekken series but I always loved their presentation, characters and cinematics.
The latest one is just all out epic, especially the last battle between Kazuya and Heihachi.

if tekken5 can get a online add-on, sega should be able to add a online mode to VF5.
i know about the lag speculations but not all people have a "slow " internet connection,
for example my internet speed is about 16100 kb/s down and 2500 kb/s up. i know sega could work something out.
sega needs to listen to their customers more, they seem to have been going down hill lately, virtua tennis saved their A$$. i hope i see a new phantasy star at e3.
sega should go back to their roots and remake streets of rage, altered beast and vector man..... ill take eternal champions while im making wishes

ugg fighting lobby... didn't they notice how aweful DOA online was with the lobby idea? Come on make the online like Fight Night! Simple, easy, and quick to a match!
