No really, Apple's World Wide Developers Conference is the same day. Apple support is also something i wouldn't expect on my Xbox (that's what connect360 is for). Sony and Apple are known to be buddy buddy so we'll have to see if they have some form of joint product. Maybe AppleTV built in like the 360 has media center.

That would be wicked. May be give a little clue about the beta too. I really hope this game does not come out this year. I want to see KZ come out next year. My reason is even if KZ does look like KZ at E3 05 many people will find some thing to pick at KZ for. I also think it is Halo's time to shine. I own the past two games before three and am looking forward to the next one. So if Sony was smart they will launch KZ next year. Because as of right now Sony has some really great games coming out and so to me at least it is better to wait to get them then get them all at the same time.

I'm thinking it will be an exclusive based on the "360s" comment. If it is something (and something amazing) that is only possible on a PS3 for hardware reasons that will be a great step for Sony and current perceptions.
So for now PS3 owners patiently wait... for people to flame and discredit any announcement before it happens, then have the first post saying it sucks once it comes out.

I can only think that Sony totally has achieved CG-like quality in
either "Getaway" or "Killzone-2", and they're gonna show some of that
in the days to come. I don't know particularly how they're gonna pull
it, but the secretive RSX, CELL and the CELL+RSX combo are something
truly astonishing, they really are hidden stuff and all devs agree on
that. Mark Rein, Kojima etc. were already on supporting base, and
reading about what Silent Hill devs had to say was also a treat to
know.

Come on Sony, drop everybody's jaws, that way you do it by bringing
next-gen to your 7 years old hardware PS2, exhibiting Shadow of the
Colossus, GT4 or god of war 2 !!!

"Real Time" may refer to ps3's Cell processing raw images from the new eye in real time.

Also, as far as I know, it would not exist for xbox 360, and if it's, it won't be comparable to Cell/Eye power.

Maybe this new gadget will be released sooner, or maybe we'll have some demo for ps2 eyetoy using it in a new, powerful way.

my inside source told me the new game will be PONG 2007. it will be PS3 exclusive because the controls are only designed for the sixaxis. in an ode to the original classic which was my first home gaming experience, they will not change from the original graphics. it will be the same black screen with 2 white bars. it will add 2 on 2 multiplayer as well as the ability to connect 2 PS3s and use each tv as 1 side of the court. due to the advanced nature of the tech behind this game, it will release in Q4 2009. = } UPDATE: my source confirmed it is not PONG 2007, but BurgerTime PS3. you actually eat food in front of your PS3 while being chased around the room by another player, and the cell determines the quantity which you consume before being captured to calculate your score.

I just did and i agree with you SIX. That trailer was mind blowing. It's like a movie with the fluid and nonstop action. I think its all in-game because when you watch closely during the gunfights, you can see the crosshairs there. They don't put those in cut scenes or in-game movies.

I can think of a few reasons this makes me mad:

1. Waiting for 5 days for the announcement to build hype
2. Finding out the announcement should have really been for July 11th and this guy got his dates mixed up and waiting another month

Well, if the game happens to be a comparatively limited-asset, quasi-corridor third-person shooter, there's no reason it can't happen on the PS3. Or on the 360 from another developer.

Note that I'm not disparaging Gears--I love Gears, it's currently the pinnacle of "next gen" graphics--but resource-wise you can't generally compare a third-person shooter to an FPS. At least not at the same point on the development- or product-maturity scale. Sure, now we're going to see more FPSs approaching and exceeding GOW graphic fidelity on both platforms, but certainly not at the time Gears was released.

Then I predict alot of ps3 gamers totally losing faith in Sony. Now, killzone itself is still a new franchise and the first one was so easily forgettable so I imagine the only reason that there is renewed interest in the title is because of the "pipedream".......oh , I'm sorry uh because of the tech demo that Sony released for killzone 2 back in 05. If the game doesn't look like the trailer that doesn't mean it's going to suck. They already showed a tech demo for kilzone behind closed doors and they said it didn't look like the E3 05 trailer but it still looked good. Motorstorm didn't look like it's E3 trailer but it still looked beautiful. I think it would be bad for Sony if they show Killzone and it doesn't look better than Resistance. I think alot of people are starting to forget about the E3 05 trailer and they are just waiting to see Killzone with good graphics, AI, physics and atleast some decent gameplay.

The more I think about it..it seems that it is too convenient for it to be the games we all think...Sony has surprised us pretty much everytime a new announcement comes up. Realtime raytracing may be possible on the standard PS3 hardware. This would would really be nextgen.

it's the fear that once the PS3 gets going it will be a wrap for microsoft and it's xbox again. If anything Microsoft's tactics this time around make sense. They realized last time around they don't have the vision of know-how to compete with Sony solely on hardware so now they are resorting to dirty tactics like viral marketing, payed fanboys on web forums (oh mart where art thou....lol) and worst of all paying off supposed gaming news sites to run negative story after negative story about the PS3.

The thing is Im not even a fan of Sony, I think most of their crap is wayy overpriced compared to other manufacturers. However I am smart enough to recognize when they have put out a truly revolutionary product. IMO PS3 is the ONLY next gen console out there.

8 days looks great; but not so gerat that it is not possible on the Xbox-360;new technology will bring many great looking games; I say wait until E3; Sony will bring there usual hype or maybe a game that looks amazing but will not be out until the end of the consoles lifecycle and who's only aim is to generate hype/sales of the PS3.

Microsoft will announce many new groundbreaking games that we will see the same year or just after.

Sony looses billions a year.
MS make billions a year.

ME, since I know all here is the announcement. ALL current PS3 will be $1 plus tax to make way for the "SHAKE RATTLE and ROLL" edition of PS3. That comes with a SIXAXIS with rumble. The new PS3 will cost $299. Also, for a limited time if you are one of the first 1 million buyers of the new console you will get to choose one free BR movie and One game of your choice. This also means games that have not yet been released since there aren't many to choose from. I only wish I could of seen this coming 3 months ago when I purchased my PS3. Since it's getting close for this console to start blooming with games and online extras. To me the ps3 7 month tour reminds me of the 360's 7 month tour as far as games go because there was nothing really going on until gears and planet came out. But if it is 8 days with gameplay looking like that!!!! Then I would've payed $1600 for the 3. But what ever the news is I'm sure it's something godd one way or the other.

I'm also speculating that the game is The Agency after watching the developer interview earlier this evening. However, it's not coming out this year so don't get your hopes up. But the fact that it's an instance based MMO is good news. Playstation users deserve a good MMO.

Personally, I think this is just another time that Sony is blowing smoke up everyones @sses. They'll show some random @ss video, and tell us all that it's more powerful than the death star, and if you took a single frame of the game it'll have more pixels than a 360 could process in a year.

Oh yea though. Sony's known to bullsh1t. I doubt it'll be anything worth everyone freaking out over.

It'll be cool though if it actually shows some of that fabled power that the PS3 is chock full of.
