New Quantum Screenshots

Looks great, but we need to really see gameplay, but the fact that it is a Gears of War clone doesn't really bother me.

Sony needs a Gears of War type game, and if this one is half-decent they at least have one in their portfolio.

@1.3 - Uncharted is not like Gears of War, people only say that because of it's cover system. Uncharted is a great game in it's own right and I am sure that it had no inspiration from Gears, Quantum clearly has inspiration from Gears and looks like it plays the same.

@xTruthx - I've seen the E3 stuff, but haven't seen any extended footage i.e. gameplay through a level.

It's like Gears meets Halo. Both game play style and colors are mixed together to make an awesome looking game. I hope that it plays smooth and that the ever changing tower is a true challenge. This could be one awesome title!

It sounds really good but i hate the main character's design, he's so badass wannabe and anti-charismatic. I hope we'll be able to customize him or he will be changed in the final version.

edit : yeah it looks like gears, but wouldnt you say that it also looks like unreal tournament? or even that gears looks like unreal tournament, i reckon gears was kinda unreal tournament, in third person and with more of a campaign type stucture rather than arena like in unreal tournament 3.so really is gear even that original?

You can't deny the similarities between the 2 games though. The stories seem vastly different but most everything else does look very similar. I didn't enjoy Gears even though I really tried, mainly down to the speed of the gameplay.

Quantum actually looks faster and in my books that is a BIG bonus.

Nah this looks like they tried to throw in some unreal tournament guns into the gears universe.

Besides, true gears fans know part 1 was the best - it was the most balanced.

Gears of War the movie? The cinematics where some of worst I've seen in a game so I honestly can't imagine how awful a movie would be.

This game has been flying under tha radar since it was previously called (Quantum Theory).

N for tha record, it's not a Gears clone, it may appear that way with only a handful of screenshots and with what little info we know about tha game, but Sony is a Leader n this industry...check their history and Tecmo knows this.

I believe that Tecmo will do a really good job on this title, and n tha final product will prove how it differentiates from the competition.

I so wanted to enjoy Gears when I finally played the second one last christmas. I'd heard so much good about the game and from seeing screenshots thought it looked a very good game.

When I played the game however, I was let down by the speed of the gameplay. It wasn't what I was expecting and put the pad down a little way into the campaign. I was expecting something faster and less "clunky" I know I'm in the minority here but hey it's my opinion and I was expecting something Gears wasn't.

One of the things about Quantum is that it actually looks faster from the videos I've seen and I'm hoping it will be what I was expecting from Gears originally.

I don't like it that people say it's a gears rip of, are all third person soothers a gears rip of (uncharted,quantum theory, resident evil). or every FPS a Halo rip?? (Killzone, resistance) they are all good games but the only original to this genres are Third person -> resident evil, FPS-> doom or was it wolfenstein? gears learn many things from other games and became unique as did halo. so lets just hope Quantum bring something new to the table and bring better games. and i hope they fix the online of gears cause i hate the lag and also in halo, but still lots of fun to play. i just hope the multiplayer in quantum is good as well as the single player. i liked the attack with the girl but just wish it had co-op. really why no co-op not killzone not this but resistance co-op is great.
