IGN: Though we've already seen the teaser, which is as good an announcement as any, Ubisoft today made the officially official announcement of Assassin's Creed II. While we already knew it was coming, one interesting bit of info is included within the text - a holiday 2009 release window on all current-generation systems, which reads to us like it's hitting the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii (and probably the PC as well). Note that the first title never hit Nintendo's latest console.

Update: Ubisoft has confirmed that the game is also coming to the PSP.

This weekend from August 10-14, players can play for free Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, Revelations, Black Flag and Valhalla on Xbox, PlayStation and PC (availability dependent on platform).

Well they just say PSP....
so wait, does that mean the AC Sony announced a couple months ago was in fact AC2? Or is the PSP getting two titles?

N4G is really getting on my nerves for allowing such bullshit stories from blogs and hiphopgamer. There is only one AC coming to PSP and it from the original version's era. Most likely some interlude to connect AC1 to AC2, it comes out around the same time as AC2 so who cares?
The sad thing is that the Wii title (if there is actually one), will most likely have more in common with the PSP title than with the PS3/360/PC version.
As a matter of fact, it seems that so far, most 3rd party devs have decided to consider the wii as a last gen console, porting it's games to the PS2 or the PSP, porting PS2 games on it or simply developping a multiplatform title, with the Wii, the PS2 and the PSP...
I hope they realize one day that the Wii is more powerful than the original Xbox, and shouldn't be put on the same level as an handheld which came out before the Wii...
If Assassins Creed 2 is indeed going to the PSP, then that means it's pretty much Wii bound as well. I can't see it any differently considering the new Silent Hill: Shattered memories game, is going onto the PSP, PS2 and Wii.
