PS3 - First And Second Party Content

With Capcom no longer making any PS3 exclusives and AceCombat coming to the 360 release as well, there aren't that many third party exclusives left on the PS3 right now. Final Fantasy and MGS 4 are the last two big ones. And while it's not impossible that they stay exclusive, it's clearly questionable at this point.

The only games that are guaranteed to be PS3 exclusive are first and second party content. Just to clarify:

First Party The development studio is completely owned by Sony. For example, Polyphony Digital or Team Ico.
Second Party The development studio is completely independently owned but works on Sony funded and Sony owned PS3 projects. For example, Rathchet & Clank or Motorstorm.

Read on for a list of the upcoming announced first and second party content. I omitted retro ports (such as Gauntlet II), junk (Wheel of Fortune), and titles that are likely very early in development and a long way off (like sequels to Resistance or God of War) .

And Final Fantasy XIII and Metal Gear Solid 4 and God of War III and even Eydentify and Tekken 6 and Grand Turismo 5 and Lair and WarHawk and Coded Arms Assualt and Killzone 2 and Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and The Getaway and Naughty Dog and Formula 1 and Eight Days and Fifth Phantom Saga and Resistance Fall of Man all 20 of those exlcusives are for the PS3 this guy is just full of lie's not actually telling the whole truth infact ever since Sony gave the game developers middle ware tools and PS3 Edge tools there's going to be more exclusives to come even from CAPCOM themselve's

and plus after Guerilla is done with Killzone there going to make another exclusive for PS3.

Why do we keep talking about this over and over and over again? We have to have a new news article for each sites take on this? I was under the impression this was covered. Pretty sure its been discussed to death and that the verdict is that since developement cost are so high for next gen games and the install base so small that 3rd party developers have no choice but to go x-platform. Once the install base gets to a point where a 3rd party developer can create a game exclusive to one platform and make a good profit you will see them go back to making platform exclusive games.

Its not about loyalty or any of the other crap that people come up with its about business at the end of the day. All 3rd party developers are in this industry to make a profit just like any other business.

Does anyone remember that game that used the EyeToy2 to play an animated card game on a board? It kind of fell off the face of the earth and I don't even remember what it was called.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron - Coming Back for a New Generation

Originally launched in 2011, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is coming to Nintendo Switch, so It's time to look back at the original.

Still have my ps3 copies. Bought it at launch and another one when I found it cheap and in perfect condition about 10 years ago. I wouldn’t buy it on Switch but if they made a PS5 version I would. I still have one of my PS3 Fats hooked up so good to go either way.

Id play it again on the switch. I wished my 360 version was bc but this is still a good way to play.

Fallout 3's Reveal Led To Death Threats And Bethesda's First Security Guard

The artist behind Fallout 4’s Deathclaw reveals just how bad things got back when Bethesda took over the series

People are stupid I get it. No one should feel unsafe,

But I think they need to talk about why they cut so many corners during the development process and why none of their games ever look current. And why they think all of this is okay while they charge full price.

LucasRuinedChildhood16h ago

As much as Bethesda deserve criticism, that's not really relevant to the reveal of Fallout 3 in 2007.

The default angle Kotaku always go for is to highlight the worst in gaming.

I would’ve focused on the creative.
