No, Famitsu Didn't Announce Tales of Vesperia For PS3

See that blurry magazine scan? It apparently says that Xbox 360 title Tales of Vesperia is coming to the PS3 with new events and new dungeons. Don't get excited just yet. It's totally fake. Below is the index for the upcoming issue of Famitsu - the same one that supposedly announces Tales of Vesperia for the PS3.

Ah well. Another day, another set of rumors. I got kind of excited though, that's for sure

LightningPS3PS35575d ago

Why does anyone want 360's left overs? We already saw these year old ports don't sell well on PS3.

This game already pushed all the 360's it was going to in Japan.

Rampant5575d ago

apparently alot of people want 360 leftovers, look at the gloating in the "TOV coming to PS3"-entry

pumpkinpunker5575d ago (Edited 5575d ago )

whatever, dude. there was 4 pages of sony fanboys wetting their pants over the prospect of TOV on the PS3. just shows how fake most of them are when they put down 360 exclusives which they always do. N4G would probably crash for 24 hours if Halo 3 ever came to the PS3. you guys aren't fooling anyone. you wish the PS3 had the great game selection that the 360 has. I would feel bad for sony fanboys but it's no big secret that the PS3 was a failure from day one. I would have bought one but I'm what the people call a rational consumer who did his research.

JD_Shadow5575d ago

You know that half of those comments were 360 fanboys trying to insist that it was indeed fake as if they were teasing a dog with a piece of meat that they keep JUST out of the dog's reach, do you?

Please don't come on here as if the PS3 fanboys were the only guilty party in all of that!

Mindboggle5575d ago

What annoys me is most of the 360 fanboys shouting in that thread probably never even own the game and have no itention to. They just like to gloat PS3 users who want the game.

ceedubya95574d ago

And its one of the better JRPGs to come out this gen imo. If it does come out for the PS3 (which it probably will), I suggest any RPG loving PS3 owners to definitely give it a look.

"I would feel bad for sony fanboys but it's no big secret that the PS3 was a failure from day one. I would have bought one but I'm what the people call a rational consumer who did his research."

Might want to do your research again, Darwin.

PS3 sells better on yearly average than the 360.

Wii sells better than both.

lol Typical Kotaku. First one to debunk a good(yet fake)news for Sony fans. I never hid the fact my wanting for this game but yeah I still want it.

@-GametimeUK-

I'm actually currently playing Eternal Sonata and it's been a good experience so far, although it's not as great as what I would've wanted it to be. It's probably cause I jumped on it right after finishing Persona 4.

I_LOVE_MYSELF5575d ago

lol yeah I figured you would be pretty excited after what you told me before :-)

The game doesnt really interest me on either platform to be honest... The RPG I really want to try is Eternal Sonata but im waiting for the release over here still :-(

I would rather have for my PS3 otherwise I could get the 360 version

"The RPG I really want to try is Eternal Sonata but im waiting for the release over here still"

Why not import the PS3 version from the States?

This sh1t is getting crazier by the moment. Just minutes ago there was a forum post from I don't know who saying that game comes but that the scans were fake...

Could somebody explain all this for god sake!

TheColbertinator5575d ago

Yeah I knew it was fake as well.It might happen but we need an official Namco announcement if this is true

TrevorPhillips5575d ago

God i hate rumours first minute ur excited and another minute ur not because of this rumour crap

I really enjoyed this article, it was a good read. This quote gave me a chuckle, because it's true!:

"Pretty much every JRPG involves the player’s characters going from barely being able to lift a sword to killing God"

indysurfn1392d ago

LOL...exaggeration but I get your just making a point. No one can Kill God. Don't drink Satan's cool-aide he is just trying to recruit you (backwards recruit)

Tross1392d ago

He probably only has the grape kind anyways. All the folk up in heaven surely hog all the good flavours.

BrainSyphoned1392d ago

Final Fantasy 15 the ultimate delayed game with delayed story dlc shoveled in at the last second. Doesn’t ring the gratifying bell when I see that stupid car at all. Article+thumbnail is like describing a 5star meal while watching your cat clean its backside.

More specifically I would say JRPGs are progressive gratification. Basically like listening to prog music vs anything else which imo is the best. Even if a JRPG is all about the journey, generally speaking JRPGs keep getting better as opposed to other games which usually have their high points come in either too soon, or the best parts just aren't nearly as impactful.

indysurfn1392d ago

Also don't forget the direct comparison that the old Square Enix president made. He said Western players like TWITCH games and eastern players love Cerebral games. Now it was taken as a racist slam. But he meant it as one of the reasons outside of development time and cost return on investment(ROI). But he had a true point people here are TRAINED to like instant stuff. And people there are trained to like delayed over the top stuff. It is not a intelligence slam. I'm glad I LOVE the later gratification! Because it is way better!

iofhua21392d ago

I like JRPG's for the big anime tiddies.

indysurfn1391d ago

lol.....I stand corrected!

I’ve been hooked on the series ever since playing Tales of Xillia

jznrpg1728d ago

I hope they remaster or port a lot of the older games of the series to PS4/PS5

Immagaiden1728d ago

“Tales series is considered one of the top three Japanese RPG series next to RPG giants like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy.”

How you gonna talk about the top three JRPG franchises and not mention Pokémon, the top selling series in the genre?

This is how the top JRPG series stack up

1. Pokémon - 340M
2. Final Fantasy - 144M
3. Dragon Quest - 78M
4. Monster Hunter - 52M
5. Kingdom Hearts - 30M
6. Souls - 25M
7. Tales of - 20M

A decade later, Tales of Vesperia might still be the ideal Tales game

Ten years ago, early in the lives of both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, Microsoft scored a coup when it secured the latest game from Namco's long-running Tales franchise - which had been almost exclusive to PlayStation since Tales of Destiny in the '90s.

Things got even more heated after Tales of Vesperia eventually did end up on PS3, in even better form, with new content and characters. But much to PS3 fans' consternation, Namco Bandai opted to keep the enhanced port Japan-exclusive.

Until last year, when Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition was announced for all existing platforms. The question remains: Was it worth the wait?

It is indeed. Havent felt this good for a tales game since....well vesperia on the 360. Namco needs to go back to these roots.

Lexreborn21929d ago

Phantasia will forever be my ideal tales game. But if they could do a solid remake in current engine I would be thrilled to relive that awesome game

PhoenixUp1929d ago

I don’t think there’s any definitive ideal Tales game since they all have their own individual merit from one another
