"version 2.60 is available to download from January 21, 2009 and comes with a host of new features that will give PS3 owners an even better experience."

Divx 3.11 will be useful but that whole picture program thing is useless to me

I love my PS3, I love Blu-Ray, PSN, the games etc... but PS3 is a games console first, WHERE'S MY CROSS GAME CHAT!?

pixelsword5568d ago (Edited 5568d ago )

...PS3 people are so quiet in games (getting a little better) yet they want cross-game chat.

:D

Sk8boyP5568d ago

yeah, it is getting better and more features involving chat would increase it even more. I can't tell you how many times I boot up GTA 4 and right when I appear in my house I get a "Chat Invitation". *Facepalm*

Cross-game chat is hugely overrated. When I'm playing a game, I want to be playing that game. The reason that particular game has voice chat is so the players can communicate to each other, in terms of teamwork, or just in terms of talking about the game in progress.

If you are playing a game with a friend, there are practically no differences whether you are playing it on live or PSN. You can talk to each other, you can play against each other. When I'm not in a game with a friend, I send them an invite to come and join me. In Warhawk I could just send them a message saying "join me in wh". Motorstorm has this feature built-in. I can message as many friends/Motorstorm players I've met saying to join me in Motorstorm, and they need to quit out of the game they're in, load up motorstorm, press select and accept my invite. Now excuse me, but I don't see how a cross-game invites can be any better than that. You necessarily need to swap disks over, and the game necessarily needs to load. Once they're in my game, I can chat to them. Is a very hard to implement (on the PS3 as it is) feature worth doing so that I can chat to my friend for the 5 minutes it takes them to load the game? Is it worth doing so I can have a random conversation with my friend which I could just as easily do whilst not playing a game? It would be nice, but I don't see why it's so hyped up as the greatest feature that PSN doesn't have.

I'm right there will you on that. MKV (with subtitles) support for the PS3 would be beyond awesome.

Tempist5568d ago

Fools. MKV is an open source format. It's nearly impossible to supply a codec to run all verisons. Every few months it changes and becomes more of a complex beast.

And further more, a majority of people aren't going to download things to watch on the PC and move it to the PS3 to watch.

Wow Divx 3. That would definitely be useful. Put this stuff on the PSP as well

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

VersusDMC2h ago

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Friendlygamer3h ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best

Yui_Suzumiya1h ago

1 and DmC. The rest are unimportant.

DarXyde1h ago

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...

5, 3, 1, 4, 2.

I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.

But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me

Tales Of Graces Ƒ Retro Review – Holding Out For a Hero

Gary Green said: Namco Bandai heard the call of many fans asking for the PlayStation release of Tales of Graces which was originally released seemingly exclusively for the Wii back in 2009. If you’re acquainted with the Tales series then Graces f won’t be something entirely new to you, yet if you’re a newcomer then you’ll find a plethora of gameplay mechanics and nuances that distinguish this series from other JRPGs. While the game finds itself following the traditional archetype of JRPGs, such as a somewhat clichéd story, Graces has something to offer to both veterans and newcomers alike.
