Who said you can't go in guns blazing and that it requires tactics? He must of taken at least 300 shots and didn't die once. Granted the gameplay and game itself looks beautiful, but the A.I. manages to miss you from 2 feet away, and then just stand still for 2 seconds, and then when you do take on shots you don't even get fazed.

I HAVE watched this and many other videos, and in every single of them, the developers keep mentioning that the game has a nearly flawless framerate.

However, that's not nearly what the actual video is showing, and I'm not only talking about this one, but others from IGN and Gamersyde.

Therefore, whether no website has shown a final code video, which is entirely possible, or the game actually has some noticeable framerate issues. I guess we'll see it first from reviews and ultimately from personal experience.

as hopefull as I'm that KZ2 will get 10/10 from every review, they'll somehow drag it from that 10 just for the 'no co-op' reason! if only co-op exist, then I'll have no more reason that I can think preventing KZ2 from the magic 10! either way, even if they are going to put it as a 5/10, I'll still buy it day 1! only a month left to spare but this wait is killing me!

Aquanox try watching the video on a computer other than the pile of crap you have now. I see no framerate issues on my desktop, but my laptop is a different story. If I'm on the laptop selecting HD is like selecting Play slideshow.

I looked at your previous post history to see what your motives are. Why do you care so much about the xbox selling better than the PS, etc? What gain do you receive personally? Now add in your comments about KZ2 and "framerate issues" that are not there, and I think we have a classic (insert favorite fanatic fan term) on our hands.

Man I'm so lost on how so many people can Still be skeptical of this game. lol. Man what is everyone afraid of? It being too good? Seriously every siteyou can think of has had positive views on this game and even some sites trying to nitpick at the game could hardly find anything valid.

So after reading some reviews and some previews of this game which were all positive, what are you looking for? lol. A bad review so you can say, "I told you so." Seriously man this game will be a masterpiece, I was looking through the forums the other day and someone had a gif of killzone 2. It shows sev wading through water under what looked like a pier. As he was walking you could see the water rise and fall and droplets of water were dripping from the top of the pier, all while being illuminated by lightning every few seconds.

All I can say is to the people who don't believe in the hype, you may not believe now, but if you play the demo or even when the rest of the reviews are released. YOU WILL BE KILLZOWNED!!!

Lets say you're correct and it's only a problem of bad encoding. How about the plethora of all other videos from IGN, GamersyDe, Gametrailers, and many others? I'm yet to find one without the framerate dropping to worrying levels. It never gets unplayable, but if you play COD4 and then this one (this build), chances are that you will find the slowdowns very noticeable.

For a game that has been in production for so long, I expect this one being an old build and the final code nearly framerate locked.

Watching the banners it reminded me the banners in Mirrors edge PC, those kind of physics weren't included on the console versions due the lack of the PhysicX engine but it seems that the PS3 is capable of reproduce it, I hope in near future games we can see more of those dynamic physic effects in game.

A "demilitarized zone" is a place where there are NO weapons or military personnel/facilities... That tears it, I've always thought that review guy with the grumbly voice and the incessant stuttering was the worst editor at IGN. I can't take his freaking pauses before he says anything... it drives me crazy and I just want to punch him (3:33- "uh, eh,uh..."). I won't even mention all the other moronic comments he made on the footage.

He's probably a really decent guy though and I shouldn't have these feelings... sorry man.

Gameplay looks weak. The AI sort of waits for you to kill them, they look confused. The charactors don't seem mortal enough. Do they have shields?

A failing, I think, that many games suffer from... Gears and Gears 2 have Locust just sitting there taking fire without any reaction until they've been hit a prescribed number of times and perform a default "flinch" to taking bullets to the face.

I think the background effects in KZ2 are cool but its obvious the gameplay itself took major hits to allow more to happen at once.

The immersive feel they tried to get across actually makes the gameplay seem some what lackluster(you might hear it mentioned in some of the reviews)

Always have always will. For every great game like KZ2 (apparently), they also get stuck reviewing Legendary and Soldier of Fortune. For a video review, you think IGN is gonna crank up the AI and get owned every 2 seconds? How informative would that be? Watch the video review of CODWAW and then go play it on veteran. You might be asking yourself "Is that guy Superman or do I just suck?"

You cannot judge gameplay on video footage, hence the reason its called gamePLAY not gameWATCH.

Gameplay is all about how it feels to control, the movement etc etc, unless the pads in your hands you havent got a clue how the game PLAYS.

Well I have to disagree with you here. In general, if I watch gameplay videos before I buy a game, I know pretty much exactly how it's going to play. Controls obviously I can't tell, but I expect them to be good enough, and I hardly ever have an issue with whatever control scheme they give me - I just get on and learn to use it. It's not fun unless I actually get hands-on - but I know what to expect.

That's fine, but I'll have to disagree with you. You cant really tell squat unless you've played the game. So many times I've seen videos that look to have good gameplay, played it myself, terrible and visa versa, bad looking video, great in your hands.

Either way, I've actually PLAYED the game, and it's fantastic, the gameplay is somewhat similar to COD4, dont recall all the people stating how bad the gameplay looked in COD4 videos.

This is why you have demos, so you can TRY the game rather than watch a video, gaze into your crystal ball and come to some random conclusion.

yeah I'm with FF...while some games just look unfun for numerous reasons...there have been plenty of titles that did the opposite of what the videos portrayed for me...

sadly...Lair looked fun to me back in 2007, according to the videos...luckily I never bought it, but rented it instead after it was a disaster in reviews...and it was a disaster (interestingly, not because of the controls...those worked fine for me...it was every thing else that was incredibly lame)...

same with haze...downloaded the demo...the game sucked...and that was before the reviews showed up...the gameplay videos looked fun more or less...but actually playing it and seeing it on my TV made it a very sub par game...

and it goes the opposite...saw 50 co-op videos for R2 before it released...and thought it looked kind of lame...couldn't tell why, it just didn't look overly fun...then played it...and its the single best part of the title overall...

just saying that I personally never give final judgment on something without playing it...sometimes the video impressions are the same after I play it...but definitely not always...

It's all about how well the person is playing. If this guy was going to town just taking everything out no one would have brought up anything about the gameplay.

I was confused by that as well. The game looks awesome but at one point(after shantytown) he walks into a battlefield with at least 6 helghast soldiers and all they do is look at him, then run around like they were mentally challenged or something. I'm sorry but the AI looks like it needs work.

The AI did seem a bit weak in parts in the video at least. Hopefully it was just a case of being on an easy mode. There was one part of the video where the enemy stood in a doorway shooting (and missing) at you for several seconds while you stood there and prepared to throw a nade in at them.

The grenade explosions looked somewhat weak too, when compared to FEAR 2 at least.

I don't expect 10's across the board for this game and people should not get their hopes up for a clean sweep of them either. But it looks like a 9 out of 10 game and if it's lower it's not going to stop be from buying and enjoying it.

The best part of the video was when the flags caught fire and slowly burned up at the end of the video. Why? That subtlety to detail impresses me more that all the in your face stuff. It show great car and artistic pride has been taken into account.

As for the AI comments these guys usually play it on easy difficulty..where in any game you can stand around and take alot of hits.They said if you want a good challenge play it on hard or higher then see how the AI is.

They were trying to show the level and graphicsa and it would be pretty hard to do if they were dying all the time.

Very impressive piece of camera work at 5:55 in that video, flawless move from cut scene to gameplay and done in style :)

To be honest nothing i had seen of KZ2 had really impressed me apart from the movie that showed the plaster coming off from the pillars from bullet impact, but this video is really nice, I'm really looking forward to this now.

It will be nice to go between KZ2 and Street Fighter 4 :)

That's the advantage if you run cutscenes in game. The script takes over the character, and you can jump in (take back control) seamlessly.

Yeah, reviews are usually done on easy when they can(case of too many games generally). Sometimes, though, I wonder what I'd do if it wasn't for IGN. This past year while loads of other sites seemed to have some agenda with their review scores (particularly GS andI find it funny after all the stick they got for the Q4B and Wipeout HDs poor scores(among other Sony exclusives)last year they've suddenly mellowed)basically only IGN of the big US sites stayed really objective to all platforms.Don't even mention GD, Edge or GT really don't. In fact GD should just give up as there is no redemption for that level of ineptitude.
It's sad when you feel you can only trust a few sites/people to do theior reviews hinestly but that's where we are at the minute.

I'm sure this is going to make it get less than 10. Hell, I know many reviewers that gave Half-Life 2 a 8/10 or a bit more, just because the teammate AI was bad. Killzone 2 will be good, but it is not perfect. Bad teammate AI and it has no co-op, co-op is one of the most important things on a FPS.

ok now i have played the demo (gamestop is handing em out) and i have never been a killzone fan. the first 1 was a mindless shooter that appealed to me for about a week then i traded it in. not gonna say it wasnt good just not my cup of tea. so i decided h311 ill jump on the bandwagon for the 2nd one. visual it is the best looking console game on the market hands down. i was struck with a huge smile of how great it looked. now if u have a pc (like i do) u know it isnt the best looking game ever but on a console h311 yes it reign supreme.

now im guesing to compensate for the amazing graphics they gave the game a rather dull story and gameplay. dont say im a troll blah blah blah let me finish first. lol. just like number 1 it is a mindless shooter. point click blow someone to h311. it is what every greater shooter is made of but it is its own game. it does borrow a few things here and there from the best shooters and it has its own little taste. i liked it but i guess the hype of the game killed it for me. the demo was clean almost unbugged and glitched. it has very dull points in the game like ne other shooter where u do nothing. but sometimee u get into a bullets of fury gun mode. when the game kicks in and people r just coming at you things get really fun. after that it gets massively boring.

it makes halo and gears look like wii games and it plays harder than cod4.

most of all, it manages to over deliver on promises that everybody on the planet thought impossible 4 years ago, especially those with a green x tattooed on their ass. in fact it is pushing the ps3 so far ahead of the 360 that most xb!tches are buying ps3s right now, lol

so yea kz2 is da sh!t: a constant PITA for the xbollox collective who's gonna play halo, again, tonight, and something of an embarrassment for the gaming media who's been circle jerking off on ps3 bashing and now looks really stupid

if a rocket blows up near you than the controller shakes, thus making the gun shake..that is awesome..i hope most people dont whine about it, because everyone cries about not having a real game..well folks..here you have it
